This is a 1954 Buick Roadmaster Model 76-R Riviera two door hardtop. I purchased the Buick in May, 2009. It was repainted by a previous owner in the factory color, "Sharon Green ". The roof is "Artic White". I believe the front and rear bumpers were rechromed about the same time. The car is otherwise original. The interior is a combination of cloth and leather. The undercarriage shows use, but has no rust out. This is a partial list of what repairs and service I have performed: installed trunk cardboard kit. (05-2009), rebuild generator, voltage regulator, rebuild Carter carb (06-2009), four "Diamond Back" Radial wide white tires( 08-2009), install seat belts (08-2009), install aluminized exhaust system (09-2009), rebuild fuel pump (10-2009, total rebuild of transmission (11-2009), new carpet set, complete tune up (11-2009), rebuild starter (05-2010), install electric fuel pump (05-2011), front brakes rebuild (05-2012), new battery (07-2013). The oil was changed at regular intervals.
I have added photos of the areas on the body that show bubbles in the paint, and other areas of damage to trim. The Buick runs and drives out very well. It has power steering, windows, and power seat. Everything works except the radio and clock. All hoses and belts were replaced. It has the Dyna-Flow automatic transmission. You will get a few drops under the engine when parked, and a lifter is a little noisy at startup, but quiets when warmed. This Buick is a great road car with a comfortable ride. The transistor radio under the dash does not come with the car. I will leave the tachometer, compass, steering wheel spinner, and traffic viewer in the car.
The Buick is sold "AS IS", with no warranty.

Buick Velite Plug-In Hybrid Concept debuts to little fanfare
Sat, Nov 19 2016Buick pulled the covers off its latest Velite Concept at the Auto Guangzhou 2016 show in China. We say latest because this is actually the second time Buick has used the Velite name for a concept, the previous having been shown at the 2004 New York Auto Show. The first Velite concept was a two-door convertible; the second Velite is a four-door crossover. Enough about the name, what about the concept? Well, it's very highly stylized, and we don't really mean that in a good way. There's nothing about the Velite that screams Buick, except for its badges, of course. At the front is a compressed version of Buick's traditional waterfall-like fascia. It's flanked by slit-like LED lighting elements. The rest of the face looks to our eyes like it draws inspiration from the latest Toyota Prius. There isn't a single flat element to the Velite Concept's bodysides, in a way that resembles recent concepts from Infiniti. The last bit of styling flourish are deep recesses just ahead of the rear wheels, a look that is reminiscent of BMW's i-series of vehicles. There aren't any images showing the Velite's hind quarters, but from what we can see, that also has a QX-ish look about it. There are no shots yet of the Velite's interior, but Buick says it's "elegant" and "includes recycled materials." We wish we could see what it looks like, because the automaker says it "[points] to design trends for upcoming new energy vehicles." So, the Buick Velite Concept is a nondescript mashup of design elements that we've already seen. Under the skin, however, things are more interesting. It's a plug-in hybrid with a modular lithium ion battery. That doesn't tell us much – it could be a variant of the Chevy Volt, or it could be a different system altogether. We look forward to finding out. In the meantime, have a look at the high-res image gallery up above. Oh, and if you're wondering, the word velite traces its roots back to a lightly armored military division in ancient Rome. Related Video:
2019 Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring isn't that sporty
Mon, Jul 2 2018The 2019 Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring is presumably a new, sportier version of Buick's large sedan. And on the surface, it does look more exciting. It has less chrome trim than its counterparts, the grille gets a body color surround and a black wire mesh insert. It has a simple little spoiler at the back, 19-inch wheels, and the all-important badging. We can't imagine Ford is thrilled at the use of the "ST" nomenclature on display at the back, though. Unfortunately, Buick hasn't really done anything to actually make this car sportier than other LaCrosse sedans. It has the same 3.6-liter V6 found in other versions making the same 310 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. That power goes through the same nine-speed automatic as the others, too. Additionally, the Sport Touring is only available with front-wheel drive. Still, if you like the style, and the LaCrosse's standard performance is suitable to you, you'll want to know how much it costs. Base price is $41,220. You'll also have a choice of five colors: white, black, red, and two kinds of silver. And if the LaCrosse ST isn't sporty enough for you, you might want to check out the Regal GS. It has the same engine, but with a bit more torque, all-wheel drive, is in a smaller body, and has hatchback versatility. 2014 Buick Regal GS AWD
Thu, 27 Feb 2014"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.
