Up for sale a great 1966 Riviera! Numbers matching, factory AC car, all original, console/floor shift, and has the rare cornering lights up front. Runs and drives good!

Car is 99% complete, missing only the RIVIERA letters on the front of the hood and the plastic radiator shroud is missing. All trim is on the car, and trim is in great shape. Original white interior, with only drivers side top corner of the seat worn thru it.

Original head liner in in good shape, has one seam that needs to be re-stitched. Headliner is original and not ripped anywhere.  Carpet is in good shape, as are the door panels, etc. car was painted a long time ago a red-brown, over the original RARE plum purple factory color. Steering wheel back has shrinkage cracks in it, and turn signal switch inside column is loose. Turn signal switch and stalk, etc are all there, but the switch inside is either loose or broken. Turn signals dont work because of this.

Car was an original rare factory plum color (purple) and original color can still be seen in the trunk. Interior is all original factory white and in great shape except for top corner of drivers side seat, it is worn thru there.  Easy fix for upholstery shop!. Car runs and drives good, could use a tune up as she is cold blooded. But once she warms up she runs fine. Doesn't leak any oil either that I can see. New dual exhaust put on car last year. Brakes work great, headlights and headlight motor work great, no issues car.

Only rust is surface rust here and there, and one rust hole thru about the size of a half dollar, behind the passenger rear wheel. NO rust in the rocker panels, door bottoms, other quarters, etc.!  Some very small rust at the corner of the dash, very minor.  Only rust thru hole is the one behind the passenger wheel, and it is very small hole. Easy fix with tiny patch.  Some rust just below the key on the truck also, easy fix too.  For a 1966 this body is in great shape.  Normal dents/dings for this age of car.  One dent at the very corner of the rear of the car, can be easily pulled out and one dent in front of the passenger rear wheel, easy to pull out, did not even break the paint.

Last year of the Nailhead big block!
Motor is all original big block 425 cu. in.with 340HP stock and 465ft lbs of TORQUE!
1966 was the last year for the highly collectible Nailhead motor, so this is a last year car!!

Motor has NEVER been out of the car, and has never been rebuilt! Same for the stock tranny! Car is UNMOLESTED!! Try finding a 1966 Riviera that has not been touched and modified....this is that car!!

Numbers all match, all factory tags present, clear KS title in my name. 3 owner car. One owner bought new, then sold car in 1973, then I bought it a few months ago from 1973 owner.

Can send additional pics. Car is located in Olathe, KS. Only reason I am selling it is that I want a four door early 1960's Lincoln so I can take my whole family for a ride. 1962 preferred.

These 66's are getting harder to find, especially in rare plum color, #s matching, AC, console shift, and cornering lights.

Or TRADE for 1960's Lincoln Continental 4 door or Convertible. Prefer 1962-63 but will consider other years.
Feel free to call with any questions, etc.

Win the 'ultimate 80s muscle car,' a Buick Grand National GNX

Mon, Aug 8 2022

Poll the Autoblog staff about which car is considered the ultimate '80s muscle car, and one of the two answers that'll come up is the Buick Grand National. The other, for those curious, is the Mustang GT 5.0, but that less important right now because Omaze isn't giving away one of those. It is, however, giving away a 1987 Grand National GNX, with an astonishingly low 2,000 original miles, and you can win it here. Win a 1987 Buick Grand National GNX - Enter at Omaze Here are the specs of the GNX, per Omaze: Max Seating: 5 Powertrain: Turbo 3.8 Liter V6 Engine Transmission: 4-speed automatic    Drivetrain: RWD Exterior Color: Black Interior Color: Grey/Black Horsepower: 276 hp Torque: 360 lb-ft Acceleration: 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds Top Speed: 124 mph Fuel Capacity: 15.1 gal Approximate Retail Value: $185,000 Cash Alt: $138,750 Special features: Only 2,000 original miles; #51 of 547 produced; blacked out exterior; 16-inch cross-weave wheels; wheel arches; torque arm rear suspension  According to Omaze, "no donation or payment is necessary to enter or win this sweepstakes." If you do choose to donate, $10 will get you 20 entries, while $50 will get you 500 entries and $100 will get you 1,200 entries. Donations benefit the ACLU. Per Omaze, “the ACLU is an organization of people who believe in the power of action. Whether in the courts, statehouses, or Congress, they fight to defend the rights that the Constitution guarantees to all of us — regardless of who we are, where we come from, who we love, or what we believe. The ACLU evolved from an organization of lawyers and advocates into a larger coalition of people fighting for whatÂ’s right together — for all of us. The ACLU seeks to be the place where people can come, no matter their political affiliation, to take action. ” If you want this relic of the 80s in your driveway, enter here. Dear America, you don't need as much power as you think

Wed, Oct 4 2023

I recently won a 0-20-mph drag race against a Chevrolet Volt. A day later I smoked a Tesla Model 3. “Um OK,” youÂ’re thinking, “that canÂ’t be that hard.” Well, except that the vehicle I was piloting featured a hybrid powertrain of a Bosch electric motor and 40-year-old human legs. ThatÂ’s right, I out accelerated automobiles on a bicycle. On another occasion, I found myself driving behind my wife in her 2023 Kia Niro EV. The specs say it accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 7.8 seconds, a time thatÂ’s six-tenths off the pace of KiaÂ’s rear-motor-only EV6, a vehicle IÂ’ve repeatedly read being described as “slow.” The Niro, therefore, must be extra-slow. And yet, as she turned left onto a highway onramp, she rocketed forward leaving me in a Mercedes-AMG C43 and every other car in the left turn lane in the distance. I share these anecdotes not to boast about my cycling ability, nor my wife having a lead foot. No no. IÂ’m crap and she really doesnÂ’t. Instead, I want to point out that most drivers accelerate very slowly. The notion of “bigger is better” will forever be engrained in the American psyche, but when it comes to horsepower largesse, todayÂ’s cars hilariously exceed both the expectations and driving habits of most drivers. Most car buyers just donÂ’t have a frame of reference when it comes to equating 0-60 times, output figures and the actual feeling of acceleration.   Eat my dust, Mr Volt! Now, we in the automotive-reviewing media absolutely share some of this blame. We like accelerating quickly and cars that accelerate quicker are bound to reap more positive reviews. At the very least, weÂ’re obligated to point out when a carÂ’s acceleration is slower than a certain competitor's or the segmentÂ’s average. However, just because Car A is slower than Car B doesnÂ’t make Car A slow. It makes it slower. For example, the dual-motor EV6 may be 2 full seconds quicker from 0-60 than the rear-motor model – a relatively massive difference – but barring a back-to-back drive or a wealth of comparative knowledge, itÂ’s laughable to think that the average driver could possibly deem the rear-motor version “slow.” Because it isnÂ’t. The near-universal use of turbocharging, the popularity of all-wheel-drive and increased proliferation of electric motors has resulted in this rapid drop in 0-60 times thatÂ’s outpacing customer expectations and driving habits.
