JUST IN TIME FOR SPRING IS YOUR CHANCE TO OWN A NEAR MINT 1985 BUICK RIVIERA LUXURY COUPE, THE SAME MODEL CAR THAT WAS USED AS A PACE CAR IN THE

INDY 500 FROM 1979-1985. THIS IS A NEBRASKA CAR, TWO OWNER, "ORIGINAL OWNER HAD THE CAR FOR THE FIRST 10,000 MILES" AND THIS CREAM PUFF HAS BEEN STORED IN A CLIMATE-CONTROLLED GARAGE SINCE 1987. THE PAINT STILL HAS THAT SHOWROOM SHINE, AND YOU CAN SEE THE METALLIC FLAKE SHIMMER IN THE SUNLIGHT. THE LEATHER SEATS INSIDE ARE BUTTERY SOFT, & SHOW VERY LITTLE WEAR AFTER 28 YEARS. THIS MID 80'S LUXURY CAR HAS ALL POWER OPTIONS, SEATS,

WINDOWS, LOCKS, TRUNK, STEERING, BRAKES, ETC. NON-SMOKER CAR. THIS CAR HAS A/C, WITH CLIMATE CONTROL. THE HUB CAPS THAT ARE CURRENTLY ON THE RIVIERA ARE CUSTOM, AND THE ORIGINALS GO WITH THE CAR. THE TIRES ARE ALMOST NEAR NEW, AND THE 5.0 LITER 307 CUBIC INCH V-8 STILL PURS LIKE A KITTEN. THE STEERING IS TIGHT, THE BRAKES WORK GOOD, IT HAS A SMOOTH AIR-RIDE SUSPENSION, AND JUST GLIDES DOWN THE HIGHWAY... THERE IS A SLIGHT GOUGE, WITH A TINY BIT OF RUST ON THE BODY RIGHT BELOW THE LEFT TAILLIGHT, AND ABOVE THE BUMPER, WHICH I WILL BE ADDING A PICTURE OF.

THE CAR HAS 57,013 ORIGINAL MILES ON IT. IT HAS BEEN IN SEVERAL CAR SHOWS, AND HAS TAKEN FIRST IN TWO OF THEM. IT'S NOT VERY OFTEN THAT YOU COME ACROSS A VINTAGE CAR THAT IS THIS CLEAN. THE RIVIERA HAS A CLEAR TITLE. THE CAR HAD AN UNDER-COAT PUT ON IT WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED IN 1987, SO THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS IN NEAR PERFECT CONDITION. I'M SELLING THIS CAR FOR A FRIEND WHO RECENTLY LOST A SPOUSE, AND IT NEEDS TO FIND A GOOD HOME. I WOULD BE HAPPY TO ANSWER ANY QUESTIONS. I CAN BE REACHED AT (605) 484-7947, OR AT MATT_AHRLIN@HOTMAIL.COM. BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING. AS- IS, NOW WARRANTY.  HAPPY BIDDING!!

2013 Opel Cascada

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

The Future Buick Verano Convertible?
I wasn't wearing a pedometer while in Germany covering the Frankfurt Motor Show this year, but it's safe to say I walked more than a few miles between press conferences, shooting cars and trekking back to the media center on the first day alone. For this reason, it didn't take much convincing from General Motors for me to duck out of the Messe a day early and drive some of its latest Opel models. No, this didn't include the all-new Country Tourer, but I was able to drive the Opel Mokka (our Buick Encore), the Opel Adam and the Opel Cascada.
I focused most of my driving time behind the wheel of the Cascada, which went on sale in Europe earlier this year, since rumors are swirling that a Buick version of this convertible "could happen soon." Buick hasn't had a convertible since the Reatta, and GM has been lacking a non-performance, budget-minded convertible since the Pontiac brand - and its G6 - was dropped, so adding the Cascada to Buick showrooms could further help the reemerging brand compete in the near-luxury segment. Although the weather was too chilly (and occasionally rainy) to enjoy the Cascada with its top down for very long, I was able to clock a fair bit of drive time behind the wheel on roads ranging from the autobahn to tight roads in small, quaint villages.

eBay Find Of The Day: 1946 Tucker Torpedo Prototype II hides a secret Riviera

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

The Tucker Torpedo is one of the great what-if stories of automotive history. Preston Tucker hoped to revolutionize the industry with a car unlike any other on the road at the time. However, due to a variety of problems, he only managed build 51 vehicles before closing shop. Over time, they have become highly sought-after; In 2012, one sold for $2.65 million at auction.
That brings us to this Tucker "replica" that you see above because it might be one of the ugliest monstrosities ever put together. However, we might extend some leniency to the creator, as the vehicle isn't actually trying to replicate the classic look of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo. Instead, it is attempting to reproduce an earlier prototype from 1946 that actually features that weird, trident nose. According to the seller, his uncle built the car as a labor of love and supposedly used actual plans from Tucker as inspiration.
Underneath all of the crazy changes is a 1971 Buick Riviera powered by a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) Buick V8. Some of the replica's odder modifications include the front fenders that turn with the wheels and the fin running down the back. All three headlights work, but the one in the middle is only for the high beams. Oddly, the small hinged sections on the roof are meant to open to avoid hitting your head when getting in or out. Maybe the seller's uncle was a very tall guy?

Bob Seger's Detroit Made music video is an homage to the Motor City

Tue, 16 Sep 2014

At this point, Bob Seger feels like the living embodiment of old-school rock 'n' roll. The Michigan native has been strumming out classic records like Night Moves for decades, and he just released a new single called Detroit Made. It sounds like a future staple of just about every classic car show within the next few years, and the video is dedicated to the Motor City, past and future.
Detroit Made is all about cruising in the city in a classic Buick Electra 225, perhaps better known as a "deuce and a quarter." It's straight-down-the-middle rock and could just as easily be from a decades-old Seger album as something new.
The video for the new single mixes shots of American classics cruising along Woodward Avenue with a contemporary look at the city. Sure, there are the well-known dilapidated buildings falling into rubble, but the people there aren't just letting the city die. Other parts show the attempts to clean things up and rebuild. Check out the video if you need a few minutes of old school rockin' in your life.
