Beautiful 1966 Buick Riviera Automatic 2 Door hardtop with 425 V8 Wildcat Engine.
(PLEASE LOOK BELOW FOR 60+ Pictures and just wait to let them load) I've ALSO uploaded a quick video on Youtube of the engine running. It's located below too. It's not the best quality but you can hear the power and get the idea there. I'm quite sure (if my memory is correct) that this car has matching numbers for the car and engine. Frankly, I can't remember where the numbers were on the engine. If this means anything to you I will try to check for sure. Here's the deal, I have not used this car for quite some time and It needs to go to someone who will drive it, give it the TLC it needs and get some actual use out of it. I don't want it to fall apart sitting around when someone could be driving this thing and loving it like I did. This was my daily drive car several years ago. Unfortunately, the gas prices finally made it too tough for me to keep driving it as my daily driver. I parked it and drove it here and there but nothing too much. Eventually, I just wasn't driving it anymore at all and would start it here and there, or drive it up and down the road a bit. It needs to sell now. I just don't have time for it anymore. I will be blunt with the condition and issues of the car. Here goes. The Car actually looks really nice. The issues it has are minor and really just come down to giving it some TLC, some general repairs/upkeep and paying more attention to it. 90,975 actual original miles. The paint- Needs a good wax job. The Paint's not perfect by any means. Has a number of imperfections and age is starting to show on it. There are a number of minor chips here and there that don't add up to much. There are a number of bubbles in the paint which of course is rust forming. Most of these have not come to the surface as yet but they are there in several spots. A few places show some rust through the bubbles. Nothing horrid but they are there for sure. The rust is still VERY much manageable. Easily fixed if you spend the time or money on doing it. No rust holes etc. Still VERY SOLID! I've tried taking as many pictures as possible to show all the spots. Most are around the fenders. A few on the hood, one area around rear passenger glass. Please note that the rear driver quarter panel had light damage to it and was repaired as soon as it happened. Although it was repaired you can now see a 'line' there now as it's been a few years and the repair has since 'cracked' some. It's not awful and doesn't stand out much but it's there. Again, it was a minor issue. (my dad backed his car into mine and it hit the rear quarter) Again, looks good as the pictures show but those are the issues with the paint and repairs. Underbody- Under the car it looks good, still very solid. General looking surface rust in places of course. This car had some undercoating applied years ago so it looks Very nice in places. No rust holes or anything like that!! SOLID. The Mufflers are done, rusted! They were on the way out when I bought them and now they are done! Need new ones for sure. Trunk looks good, again very solid, no rust holes or much surface rust for that matter. Looks good, dirty though. Doors, Trunk and hood close Near Perfectly. Tight well fitting eaisly closeable doors. They feel great. About as good as you can get. Inside- The seats are in very good condition. No Rips or tears that I noticed. Seats look very nice. White Leatherette was cleaned many times over the years and conditioned so they have plenty of life in them. Could use a pro cleaning though. Carpet very good, no real issues. Could use a pro cleaning once more. Headliner looks near perfect, no issues. Has front and rear seatbelts. Front lap belts only. Heat worked good but didn't check on it when I took pictures today. Dash not awful but does have a crack or two in it. Has some rust on dash where it meets the windshield, as many old cars do. Could use some TLC there. The lid that holds the cigarette lighter won't stay closed. I always left it open because I used it to charge my phone regularly. Console looks very good. Black Leatherette/Vinyl in good condition, no issues. Here's a note for the whole car, inside and out.- The chrome inside and out could pretty much all use some TLC. Some of the outside chrome looks great, some inside looks great while some outside needs TLC as does some inside, especially on the inside doors. Also note that some of the chrome letters on the car (hood, trunk) are missing. They were that way when I bought it and I never looked for replacements) Another note for inside- This car has power windows (front and back) and power driver seat. All the power options worked for me fine when I drove it regularly but I have No doubt this will be another TLC issue. I'm sure the doors need taken apart and some conditioning done to the power for the windows. They work but last time I tried them the windows had a hard time going up or down. Gunk inside that needs cleaned out, no doubt. Again, Just some TLC Issues. Nothing God Awful but little things that need addressed by someone with time. The Radio is not connected. Probably would need TLC there too. I'm not even sure where the speakers are if they are there. I never looked into it as I had a MP3 Setup I would bring with me in my car. Windshield looks good, no real issues. All glass looks good, no real issues. No cracks etc. Tires were put on shortly before I parked it so they have plenty of life left, I'm sure. Tried to take a picture to show tread. The Front headlights do not fold as they should. I had taken it to a shop after purchase to check on it and I think they said the part that makes them move wasn't working right or not getting power right. AGAIN, I never looked any farther as I didn't mind the headlights staying out. I figure it will cost a few hundred at most to fix this issue. Engine- 425 Wildcat engine. Engine runs strong. I'm positive it can use a tune up as this hasn't been done for quite awhile. Powerful engine. When I drove it daily, always had plenty of pickup. Didn't burn oil (at least no more so than any other 1966 Engine that wasn't been picked over by a gearhead). Again, I'm sure some TLC would fine tune it even more. Solid Engine though. ANOTHER ISSUE TO NOTE- This car is not ready to drive away with. The Break line has a whole in it somewhere or is broke. Again, needs some TLC to get this minor issue fixed. I don't have time to do it and I don't want to pay to have it towed to a shop to do this minor issue. Since it's a cheap fix and since I was selling the car, didn't see the point of spending that much money on this issue. Breaks were in good shape and I'm sure have life left in them. I never ran anything down to where it was falling apart so the breaks, tires should be good to go. Might need a new battery on the car. I'm charging it as we speak but had to put another one on it to start it for the video I'm posting to show it running. Might be fine after a charge though, don't know. Transmission- Never had a single issue with it, should be good to go. Once more, this is actually a very nice car that need some Tender Loving Care. Somone who wants one of these and has time for her would love it. Would be a perfect driver or a perfect start to a car you could take to shows. Everyone loves the style of this car. Muscle car body with luxury interior. What's not to love! PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BUYERS ONLY! I'm pricing this to sell! NO RESERVE. It NEEDS TO GO! I want it to go to someone who will love it. Ok, as long as you pay I guess I don't care, lol. I HOPE it goes to someone who will love it and get many years of good times out of it. After the auction is done, I will email the winning bidder to find out how they want to pay and obtain the car. Once more, this car can't drive away. YOU WILL NEED a Flatbed or tow truck. Whatever you decide. I would of course say that a flatbed is the best option. If you plan on picking it up in person, that's fine. If you plan on hiring a shipping company that's fine too. We will just need to have it all set up beforehand so there is no confusion. Payment- If you're coming personally to pick it up I would prefer Cash. $100 dollar bills please. A Wire Transfer is also fine as long as the money is safely in my account BEFORE you pick the car up. NO PERSONAL CHECKS. I will take a bank check but once more, it will need to CLEAR into my account BEFORE you take the car. I would prefer a Wire Transfer or Cash as they are the easiest to deal with. If you have another way to pay, please ask before auction end. I would prefer not to use Paypal other than to take a down payment as the fees are high. I have Title in Hand and is clear. I've tried to go over everything I can BUT if I missed something let me know! ANY QUESTIONS AT ALL, ASK! I will do my best to answer them!

Is Buick America's most daring mainstream car brand?
Wed, Jan 21 2015Considering Buick as an adventurous automaker seems a little odd at first thought. But with little fanfare over the last several years, the marque is transforming itself from a brand often associated with elderly drivers to a nameplate willing to take chances in niche segments. The gamble is already paying off with 2014 sales up 11.4 percent in the US to 228,963 cars. Given recent product launches, this experimentation is only likely to continue. The key to the transformation at Buick is its willingness to explore the so-called white space, according to Automotive News; the term refers to niches in the market without rivals as a challenge. In addition, the brand's position in the near-luxury space means that its products are cross-shopped by a large swath of customers. Without having a specific competitor, Buick has more room to experiment within its segment. "Designers love designing Buicks because it's not a paint-by-numbers brand," said Andrew Smith, director of design at Buick and Cadillac, to Automotive News. The company's strategy of going where others haven't is best exemplified by the Encore. The subcompact, luxury crossover came to market early, and Buick found serious success with it. The tiny CUV was the automaker's fastest growing model last year with a 53 percent gain and 48,892 units sold. With the test a triumph, the Encore recently got a sibling in the US in the form of the Chevrolet Trax. The upcoming Cascada is taking a similar approach. The non-sporty convertible segment is practically empty in the US, and this slightly redesigned product from Opel has the opportunity to become a leader in its niche. Of course, Buick's biggest recent surprise was the Avenir concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The car's swooping shape and use of materials earned it two EyesOn Design Awards against some tough competition. While the company's intentions for this flagship sedan aren't entirely clear yet, the vehicle does "test some of the future design language that will come on the next generation of Buicks," according to brand boss Duncan Aldred to Automotive News, which is definitely something to look forward to. 2018 Buick Regal TourX starts right around $30,000
Wed, Jun 28 2017The all-new Buick Regal is coming, and it's ditching the sedan bodystyle in favor of two liftback variants. This week, CarsDirect reported pricing on the more interesting of the two, the Regal TourX. While we're waiting on an official confirmation from Buick, at $29,995 (presumably before destination), the lifted-wagon will significantly undercut competitors from BMW, Volvo, and Audi. With standard all-wheel drive and a powerful turbocharged inline-four, the Regal TourX has the potential to steal som sales from the Europeans. CarsDirect bases its report on the latest Buick order guides. All versions of the Regal TourX come with all-wheel drive and a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four making 250 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The only available transmission is an eight-speed automatic. Push-button start, active-noise cancellation, and 18-inch wheels are part of the package. The Regal TourX Preferred bumps the price to $33,575. For the extra few hundred dollars, you get an auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power driver's seat, and door sill plates. There are also more colors available than on the base model. Further options include a $1,240 driver's assistance package with blind-spot monitoring, rear park assist, and cross-traffic alert, and a $1,200 panoramic moonroof. A fully loaded, top-trim Regal TourX rings in at $38,860. Direct competitors are difficult to name. The pricing is above something like the Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, but far less than the Audi A4 Allroad, Volvo V60 Cross Country, or a BMW 3 Series wagon. It ought to offer more power and refinement than a Subaru Outback, but we'll have to wait to drive it before we can make a final call. NC dealer falsely announces return of Regal Grand National, Regal GNX
Wed, Dec 3 2014Like many new car dealers, Liberty Buick GMC gets so excited about its brands' new wares that it puts out press releases announcing when new models are on the way. That's not typically national news, but the Charlotte, NC store has created a bit of internet hubbub by announcing that it will be "one of the first dealers in the country to offer the Buick Regal GNX," and it's even started to add customers names to a waitlist. Only one problem: Despite seemingly annual rumors and calls for such a model, Buick hasn't announced any Grand National models at all – let alone a GNX – and no such models are actually in the cards. The Liberty Buick press release talks in a nostalgic, venerative tone of the original 1982-1987 GN franchise, and goes on to say: "These returning relics will be based on the highly-acclaimed Alpha vehicle architecture currently used in the Cadillac ATS, 2014 Cadillac CTS, and soon to be in the sixth-generation Chevy Camaro. Alpha is the internal name of a General Motors vehicle architecture engineered to underpin compact and mid-size rear-wheel-drive vehicles." In the release, Liberty Buick claimed the GN/GNX models would arrive in late 2015, citing a coupe bodystyle, including a rather fantastical-looking GNX rendering from Bestride.com. Unsurprisingly, none of this is true. Autoblog reached out to Buick for comment about the release, and brand communications manager Nick Richards confirmed that the company had discussed the matter with Liberty Buick representatives. Richards went on to say that the release was wholly incorrect, proclaiming "an agency [for the dealer] picked up a lot of stuff off the internet" and ran with it, including an old Car and Driver story from 2013. The dealership subsequently issued a retraction, with Scott McCorkle, owner of Liberty Buick GMC saying: "We love the idea of the Buick Regal GNX coming back to our showroom but for now, it's only a concept. Bottom-line, the article was incorrect.
