Up for grabs is my 1963 Buick Riviera.  It is a super clean Arizona rust free beauty.  The odometer shows 103,500 and I believe that to be accurate after getting thoroughly acquainted with this car.  The floor pans, rocker panels, trunk floor is all original and rock solid.

The car was repainted in 2000 and still looks great.  It isn't showroom perfect by any means, but still looks great.  The car was originally white.

The wheels are 17x9 Boyd Coddington Venus billet aluminum.  The tires are 255/50/17 Nitto NT555 with 750 miles.  It will also come with the original wheels and nearly new 225/75/15 whitewalls and hubcaps that are in excellent condition.  If you aren't interested in the custom wheels a will work with you on the price.

The car sits on 1" lowering springs with new shocks.  The front end has polyurethane bushings in the sway bar and front shocks.  That made a huge difference.

The numbers matching 401 Nailhead runs like a top.  Even the choke works.  The waterpump is new and so is the radiator.  Also the fan clutch and thermostat are as well.  Cant be too careful with the cooling system here in AZ.  The freeze plugs were done 10 or so years ago.  The AC system is complete and looks like it has never been open.  It does however blow warm.  I guess it should be retrofitted to r134a.

The transmission is a Dynaflow and is works smooth and responsive.  The differential has new oil as of last week.

The brakes are excellent.  They operate smooth and evenly.  Shoes are at 75% front and 80% rear.

All glass is excellent and free from scratches.

All gauges work.

The interior is very nice and the headliner is near perfect.  The radio is new, but it doesn't work.  (Fuse?)

Many weatherstrip pieces have been replaced.

It will come with a large file of receipts, a body service manual, and a chassis service manual specific to the 1963 Buicks.

This car gets tons of attention and is an absolute pleasure to drive.  I just returned from a 750 mile road trip to Vegas and it worked perfectly.  I wouldn't hesitate to jump in and take it back there tomorrow.  Feel free to email with any questions.,

NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units.
The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models. The root of the problem is a shorting bar in the inflator module of the steering-wheel-mounted airbag that may contact the primary state airbag terminal, a condition that could prevent deployment in an accident. Dealer technicians have been replacing the steering wheel airbag coils to fix the issue.
According to a post on NHTSA's website, the root cause, said to be a production issue, may not have been completely isolated - particularly for the second recall, which was for the Camaro. According to Automotive News, GM says it is cooperating with the government investigation, but won't say whether or not it knows the true origin of the problem.

GM claims it's first to sell million 30+ mpg vehicles

Fri, 04 Jan 2013

As we continue to put together all the data for the year-end edition of By The Numbers, General Motors has announced that it sold more than a million vehicles in the US last year that achieved at least 30 miles per gallon on the highway. More impressively, GM managed this feat using multiple strategies including small vehicle size, turbocharged engines and hybrid or plug-in technologies across four brands (Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet and GMC) accounting for 13 separate models. This number will grow even more in 2013 thanks to cars like the all-electric Spark, the diesel Cruze, the range-extended Cadillac ELR and the Buick Encore compact CUV.
GM's small car sales were up 39 percent last year helping to attain this million-sales mark for 30-mpg models, and almost 40 percent of all GM sales consisted of cars with fuel-efficient I4 engines. In regards to more advanced means of improving fuel economy, GM says that it plans on having 500,000 vehicles with "some form of electrification" on the road by 2017.

Best car infotainment systems: From UConnect to MBUX, these are our favorites

Sun, Jan 7 2024

Declaring one infotainment system the best over any other is an inherently subjective matter. You can look at quantitative testing for things like input response time and various screen load times, but ask a room full of people that have tried all car infotainment systems what their favorite is, and you’re likely to get a lot of different responses. For the most part, the various infotainment systems available all share a similar purpose. They aim to help the driver get where they're going with navigation, play their favorite tunes via all sorts of media playback options and allow folks to stay connected with others via phone connectivity. Of course, most go way beyond the basics these days and offer features like streaming services, in-car performance data and much more. Unique features are aplenty when you start diving through menus, but how they go about their most important tasks vary widely. Some of our editors prefer systems that are exclusively touch-based and chock full of boundary-pushing features. Others may prefer a back-to-basics non-touch system that is navigable via a scroll wheel. You can compare it to the phone operating system wars. Just like some prefer Android phones over iPhones, we all have our own opinions for what makes up the best infotainment interface. All that said, our combined experience tells us that a number of infotainment systems are at least better than the rest. WeÂ’ve narrowed it down to five total systems in their own subcategories that stand out to us. Read on below to see our picks, and feel free to make your own arguments in the comments. Best infotainment overall: UConnect 5, various Stellantis products Ram 1500 Uconnect Infotainment System Review If thereÂ’s one infotainment system that all of us agree is excellent, itÂ’s UConnect. It has numerous qualities that make it great, but above all else, UConnect is simple and straightforward to use. Ease of operation is one of the most (if not the single most) vital parts of any infotainment system interface. If youÂ’re expected to be able to tap away on a touchscreen while driving and still pay attention to the road, a complex infotainment system is going to remove your attention from the number one task at hand: driving. UConnect uses a simple interface that puts all of your key functions in a clearly-represented row on the bottom of the screen. Tap any of them, and it instantly pulls up that menu.
