This is a factory WH1 hardtop car which come 3 tone, with blackout package and this one came with gray bucket seat interior. At the time of this writing, the car has approximately 88K miles, but I still drive this occasionally so the miles may increase a bit. Some highlights pertaining to the car and general descriptions of condition are outlined below:

Mechanical:
This car has been converted to E85 specifications for superior performance, reliability and exceptional idle quality. This conversion includes a “Turbo Tweak” chip, low impedance 57# injectors, Scanmaster, hotwire kit, Red's Double pumpers and a Red Armstrong volt booster. It also has a Hooker 2 1/2 ” exhaust. Modified ECM/ New Valve springs, ported throttlebody/intake. I replaced the stock Electric Fan with a high low unit from a 2006 LS1 Camaro. It also has a 160 degree thermostat and this car never runs above 180 degrees with ac on a hot summer day. It is still running the factory turbo and intercooler 19-24 lbs. boost. Adjustable FPR regulator, EGR Block off plate. This combination results in a very quick-spooling, streetable package that is loads of fun which also allows a solid foundation for future upgrades. I have not run this car in the 1/4 mile nor am I interested in doing so...my intended goal with these modifications was to have a quick, reliable and streetable package that I could jump in and take on a 300 mile road trip without worry. The drive train is in great condition and runs, shifts and drives great. The transmission is a fully built unit with hardened input shaft alto bands deep pan. Shifts are very firm and positive. As for the converter it is a re-stalled D5. This car also has g80 posi rear end with performance upper and lower control arms with an upgraded heavy duty sway bar for better handling. The rear end is also "girdled" with a TA cover and ARP fasteners.

Body:
I bought this car when it had just received an all black paintjob a few years ago. Paint looked good so i never worried about bringing it back to the 3 tone original paint scheme until it showed some wear. Since then the car has been always stored in a carport with a cover but thru the years has had various nicks, chips and regular street driven vehicle wear. I have some pictures of the car prior to paint which I can provide upon request. The chrome bumpers have no dings, rust or blemishes. The trunk and passenger compartment floors are clean.

Interior:
Aside from the addition of an in dash CD player, Scanmaster, pillar gauges afr/boost and console gauges which consist of oil and water temp gauges and custom floor mats as pictured, the interior is as it left GM in 1986. It is in exceptional condition given its age and the seats and door panels show very little wear. The factory original carpet does show some staining in the typical areas. Given these issues, I would critically rate the interior an 7 out of 10. The car has COLD AC and hot heat. The cruise control works great as well.

Wheels/Tires/Suspension:

The factory turbine wheels (with 4 center caps)This car drives and stops dead straight with no pulling or alignment issues whatsoever. Tires were replaced a few months ago and still have over 95% Tread.

Summary/Price:
Overall, this is a very, very nice, rare car that you could be proud to drive or show anywhere. I would not consider this a quality trailer queen, but a decent turbo regal that runs and drives beautifully. I have enjoyed this car a great deal in the years I have owned it. I no longer have the time or interest in this car I once had. Although I am looking to sell the car, I am not faced with a “must sell” situation. General inquiries may be directed to me via text or call 786-487-9775  This car is located in Miami, FL  I encourage interested buyers to come see and drive the car as I don’t want to deal with any sight unseen/buyer’s remorse issues following the sale. I hold clean/clear FL title and due to my personal circumstances outlined above, I am not interested in trades.

If you have any questions concerns or want to see the car in person feel free to text call or email me,

Two nearly new 1987 Buick Grand National 'twins' found in garage after 30 years

Fri, Apr 7 2017

Back in the '80s, a Buick Grand National could leave a lot of vehicles in its dust. The final, 1987 version of the menacingly styled performance coupe produced 245 horsepower and 355 pound feet of torque, and it was never designed to sit still, let alone for 30 years. But two low-mile Grand Nationals did just that. At the time, it was widely known that nothing like the Grand National would be built again, as the Regal platform would be moving to front-wheel drive. So a lot of buyers stockpiled Grand Nationals and rarer GNX versions with the idea of making a buck on them when they gained value. Some people even bought several. That's what happened to these two cars, recently unearthed from their slumber. Thirty years of storage has turned them into barn finds instead of showroom beauties, and they haven't exactly been flawlessly preserved. A story reported on gm-efi.com shows the cars – the "Twins," as they're called – parked side to side, the way they were laid to rest decades ago, with thick dust on them. Two enthusiasts, Shawn Matthews and William Avila, originally contacted the owner, who had posted them for sale on Facebook with a staggering $200,000 asking price. After inspecting the cars and confirming they were legit, the prospective buyers managed to strike a deal for an undisclosed sum. The story does say the seller was a bit eccentric, demanding money in hand before the cars could be touched at all, but the cars were eventually acquired and transported to a shop for desperately needed refurbishing. Time has caused the headliners on both cars to droop, and it's obvious all gaskets and fluids will need to be addressed, but both cars have extremely low odometer readings: One has 807 miles on the clock, while the other hasn't even reached 600. The car with a more miles was moved "once in a while," so clearly the original owner couldn't resist giving it a go while the other one slept. We couldn't've, either. 2019 Buick Regal TourX sells better than expected, has brand's wealthiest buyers

Wed, Jun 5 2019

Being a wagon fan in America is tough, since it seems everyone prefers the higher ride heights and SUV looks of crossovers. But today we have some good news for wagon fans via Buick. Apparently the 2019 Buick Regal TourX is popular with well-heeled buyers, and it's been selling quite a bit better than Buick expected. A representative from Buick revealed that Regal TourX buyers have the highest average income of any of the brand's products. He even noted that TourX buyers' average income is higher than the Buick Enclave Avenir, the extra-plush variant of the three-row crossover and the most expensive vehicle in Buick's lineup. To put the price difference into perspective, the most expensive Regal TourX starts at $35,995, while the Enclave Avenir starts at $54,695. Besides selling to people of some means, the Regal TourX has proven to be more popular than Buick expected. Buick's representative said that initial estimates were that the wagon would make up about 25% of sales, but it's actually making up about 40% right now. Buick has sold 3,408 Regals in total this year, so that means about 1,400 of them were TourX wagons. That number doesn't quite translate over all of 2018 since the TourX was released a little later and the supply was still ramping up through the year. As such sales were closer to 3,000 out of a little over 14,000 for the whole year, or somewhere above 20%. But the increased percentage from the model's release is still impressive. Granted, sales still favor crossovers. Buick's least popular crossover, the Envision, sold about twice as many units as all Regals last quarter. Yet, we count this as good news on the wagon front. Better still, the TourX's top rival, the Subaru Outback, has moved 76,000 units so far this year. Times may be tough for the wagon fan, but there are still some small wins to celebrate. UPDATE: The estimate of Regal TourX numbers for 2018 was higher than actual sales as the TourX was launched later than all Regal models, and the supply wasn't up to full steam for the whole year. The corrected number is now in the text. Related Video:

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
