1986 Buick Regal T Type Turbo Like Grand National 1987 Gnx 64k Miles No Reserve on 2040-cars
Sugar Land, Texas, United States
Up for sale is a 1986 Buick Regal Turbo T-Type. One of only 2,384 T-Types produced in 1986. I imported this car from Canada about a month ago with plans of doing a full restoration and giving it to my dad as a present. However, plans have changed (we got him a 69' Skylark GS instead) and I have no space to keep it. The car has 64K original miles (odometer is in KM and reads 102K). I drove this car down from Toronto - 1700 miles in just two days, without a glitch. That should tell you quite a bit. The following are New in the last year
I have documentation for all of the above work, which was done by the previous owner and will be glad to share a file with the new owner. What the car might need:
Mechanically this car runs awesome (I dare say it is quicker than my GNX), probably a 9 or a 10. Cosmetically, I would rate it a 7. The paint is a bit tired and it has typical for the age chips, dings, touch ups, etc.. Car also has some nice factory options like the G80 posi. This is also a more desirable non T-Top car. The previous owner did quite a bit with the car in the last year. Best as I can tell at some point in its life the car has been repainted the original factory color and the transmission was rebuilt (with a shift kit) as it has very nice crisp shifts. Based on the import documentation I had to provide customs identifying all previous owners and transfer dates/mileages between them, I believe this car to have an original 64K miles. All in all, I would call this a basically stock plus a few bolt-ons (awesome running) daily driver in presentable shape. It could be a lot more in the right hands, but more than an excellent place to start as a lot of the bigger jobs have been done. I am taking a loss on this car because of the costs to bring it down to Texas (at the buy it now price offered), but with all my other projects, I simply need it gone now. It just past state inspection. All the import documentation was done correctly and I have a clear Texas title in hand. The car has a clean Carfax and is straight/accident free. Please don't ask me how much I would take for the car. This is a no reserve auction and there is a "buy it now" option too. If the "buy it now" is not taken, high bidder gets it, plain and simple. Auction terms: $500 deposit is due within 24 hours of auction end time. Full payment due within 72 hours via cash, cashier's check or wire transfer. Car must be picked up by July 31st latest. If you do not agree to these auction terms, DO NOT BID. Also, if you have any questions, please ask them before you bid, not after you have won the auction and the car is already yours. Sorry for being so blunt, I just want to make sure there are no hiccups with the sale as I don't want to relist it. I would not to hesitate driving this car anywhere if you want to fly into Houston and drive it home (obviously I can say this haven driven it from Toronto!). Otherwise, shipping will be up to the buyer to arrange (location is zip code 77479). If you have any questions, please contact me via Ebay and provide your phone number. I will be glad to call you back, but do not wish to put my phone number in this listing. I will also be more than glad to show the car to you if you are local and want to see it before the auction ends. The car has been listed for sale locally, I reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. I have tried to be as honest and transparent as I could (maybe to a fault). I am not a dealer, this is a private sale. All pictures were taken in the last few days at my home. Again, this is not a mint cream puff garage queen. If you want one of those, please look elsewhere. This is however a nice, tight, solid un-abused and mechanically sorted quick running car that would make a reliable daily driver and get you the occasional thumbs ups while cruising! Good luck! Here is a walk around video of the car, taken in Toronto before I picked it up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=R2orWyyYlbo |

2014 Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse recalled over brake mix-up
Thu, 08 May 2014The recall madness over at General Motors isn't letting up anytime soon, as evidenced by this latest call-back of 8,208 Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse sedans. For those keeping track, this is the fifth recall that GM has announced in the past two weeks, not to mention the massive ignition-switch issue from earlier this year.
GM issued a statement saying these sedans are being recalled due to "possible reduced braking performance," according to Automotive News. The problem? Rear brake rotors may have accidentally been installed in the front brake assembly. And since both cars use more robust braking systems up front than out back, braking power could be reduced, increasing the risk of a crash.
Automotive News reports that, of the over 8,000 cars being recalled, about 1,700 are currently in the hands of customers, while the others are still in dealer inventory. GM is unaware of any crashes or injuries related to this problem. All of the affected vehicles are from the 2014 model year.
2013 Buick Encore
Mon, 10 Dec 2012City, Slicker
We admit it. We have no earthly idea how this whole thing is going to shake out.
Typically, after driving a new car or truck, we come away prepared to hazard a guess as to whether said model has a good chance of being a sales success. We've amassed enough time watching the industry, scrutinizing the competitors, and so on, to make a reasonably educated bet. Yet here we are, days removed from driving the new 2013 Buick Encore, and we still have no bloody idea.
Autotrader picks best cars for 2015's college grads
Sun, May 31 2015Summer is here and the school season is winding to a close. That means millions of students will be graduating college and (hopefully) entering the workforce. For many, that will mean buying a new car suited to the new stage in life into which they will now be embarking. That can be a bewildering choice, especially for someone who's never bought a car before. Fortunately, Autotrader has come up with a short list of recommended cars – new and used – which it recommends to the graduating class of 2015. Among the site's top choices are some compelling crossovers and hatchbacks, including the Buick Encore, Chevy Trax, and Jeep Renegade, as well as the Honda Fit, Nissan Versa Note, Mazda3 and Fiat 500. Can't stretch to buying new, or don't see the point? Autotrader has also identified the Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion and even the Lexus IS as smart buys in the certified pre-owned category. "Any time someone goes through a major life change, such as graduating college, they need to determine if their current ride makes sense for their lifestyle, from both a financial and functional perspective," says Autotrader editor Brian Moody. "For example, while that hand-me-down SUV from your parents was nice when you turned 16, you may want to opt for a safer, more fuel-efficient car as you transition into the working world." Autotrader Names 10 Best Cars for Recent College Graduates ATLANTA, May 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- For many, graduating college is a milestone like no other – it represents a new chapter, a proud accomplishment and, fortunately or unfortunately, financial independence. Luckily for graduates who are in the market for a new car to suit their post-college lifestyle, Autotrader's expert editors say now is a great time to make a purchase, as dealerships are flush with affordable models that are fun, fuel-efficient and thoughtfully designed.
