1986 Buick Regal T-type Coupe 2-door 3.8l on 2040-cars
Ottawa, Kansas, United States
I am the second owner of the car and have owned it for 20+ years. The car is in near excellent condition, small scratch on driver's back fender that I will have fixed if my desired price of $14,000 is met. The car is not stock, but drives as if it was, still gets 27-28 mpg but will run low 12s all day and high 11s when you are ready to leave - no roll bar. Car has: 36# Blue top injectors, adjustable fuel and boost, big fuel pump and hot wire kit, 3" Terry Houston down pipe, stretched inter cooler, TA-49 Turbo, ported throttle body, ATR Ram Air and SS Dual Exhaust, 163,515 miles on car and about 30,000 on re-build by professional motor builder who specializes in Buick. Still has original bore with GSCA Lunati 200/200 cam, lots of head work with bigger valves and port matching, plus more.
Will supply all extra and stock parts I have including street slicks on stock wheels, Turbo Link computer software, original inter-cooler, new radiator and gas tank, original exhaust Y pipe, original turbo and other parts. You can even have the show trophies and sign if you want them. You will not be disappointed in this car. I do have the car listed locally and on Craig's List, so I reserve the right to end the auction early if bought locally before reserve price is met. If the reserve price is met, then I will hold the car for the high bidder here. E-Bay is showing that the car had a lien on it, but that was paid off over 15 years ago and the title issue is that the odometer only goes to 99,999 miles and as I said, the car has 163,515+ miles. I have nothing to hide with this car, only selling to buy car for my teenage son and this is not the car to have for a new driver. |

2014 Buick Regal gets the party rolling in NY
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Although the first day of the 2013 New York Auto Show kicks off bright and early this morning, Buick got a jump on the competition by unveiling the 2014 Buick Regal lineup last night. While the Regal received many upgrades for the 2014 model year, most of our attention was focused on the sedan's drivetrain.
When the new Regal hits dealers this fall, buyers opting for the new Regal Turbo will be welcomed by an additional 39 horsepower and 35 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter turbo engine; the 2014 Regal GS now features the same output of 259 hp and 295 lb-ft, meaning that it has actually lost 11 hp over the 2013 model year. Buick says the reason for the GS' power loss comes from the fact that the newly available all-wheel-drive system forced the car to use a smaller diameter exhaust system, but representatives on hand assured us that the reduction of horsepower won't affect the car's performance and could even help improve fuel economy. And who knows? Maybe downgrading the power of the Regal GS also helps create a little breathing room for a future Grand National or GNX model...
Although the power under the hood is now the same, it is still impossible to confuse the two cars from the outside. Minor updates give both a fresher look, but the Regal GS has an unmistakeable aggression to it. The GS' interior also helps it stand apart from lower Regal trim levels with an eight-inch configurable gauge cluster similar to what is offered in the 2014 LaCrosse. The cabin of the Regal wasn't given an extensive makeover like the LaCrosse received, but the upgraded IntelliLink infotainment system and the cleaner center stack and steering wheel controls are appreciated changes.
2019 Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring isn't that sporty
Mon, Jul 2 2018The 2019 Buick LaCrosse Sport Touring is presumably a new, sportier version of Buick's large sedan. And on the surface, it does look more exciting. It has less chrome trim than its counterparts, the grille gets a body color surround and a black wire mesh insert. It has a simple little spoiler at the back, 19-inch wheels, and the all-important badging. We can't imagine Ford is thrilled at the use of the "ST" nomenclature on display at the back, though. Unfortunately, Buick hasn't really done anything to actually make this car sportier than other LaCrosse sedans. It has the same 3.6-liter V6 found in other versions making the same 310 horsepower and 268 pound-feet of torque. That power goes through the same nine-speed automatic as the others, too. Additionally, the Sport Touring is only available with front-wheel drive. Still, if you like the style, and the LaCrosse's standard performance is suitable to you, you'll want to know how much it costs. Base price is $41,220. You'll also have a choice of five colors: white, black, red, and two kinds of silver. And if the LaCrosse ST isn't sporty enough for you, you might want to check out the Regal GS. It has the same engine, but with a bit more torque, all-wheel drive, is in a smaller body, and has hatchback versatility. Question of the Day: Best recipient for supercharged GM V6?
Wed, Apr 20 2016The good old Buick V6 engine was built from 1961 through 2008 (including a decade of production by Kaiser-Jeep) and went into way too many General Motors vehicles to list here. In 1991, the supercharged version of the 3800 was introduced, with a Roots-style Eaton blower on top, and now you can find these engines in just about every junkyard in North America. The 3800 shares a bellhousing pattern with the also-made-by-the-zillions GM 60° V6 engine, which means that it will install (with varying levels of sledgehammer clearancing and/or axle mix-and-matching) into plenty of GM vehicles that never received the 3800 from the factory. That means one thing: engine swaps! An excellent example of this is the 1992 Chevrolet Lumina APV "Dustbuster" minivan, which is a fully caged high-performance road-racing machine that features a supercharged 3800 and 5-speed manual transmission under its long, vacuum-cleaner-snout-like hood. The RaceVan, in Springfield Monorail livery, will compete this weekend at the Michigan 24 Hours of LeMons race with Autobloggers Mike Austin, David Gluckman, and Alex Kierstein at the wheel. My personal choice for supercharged 3800 power, though, has to be the Cadillac Cimarron, preferably the not-so-sought-after Cimarron d'Oro Edition. Some bashing and welding and cutting and pasting and this lightweight Cavalier sibling could have well over double its original horsepower. So, what's your blown 3800 engine-swap choice?
