Firstly, the car is a 77.5K original mile California Car. I bought it from the second owner in Arizona. The car was optioned out and was meticulously garaged and cared for by both owners.  The car runs and looks great!  It’s 300 miles into it's rebuilt original 401 cu. in. 6.6L V8 produces 280 hp. Drives better than a '63 Caddy and or Oldsmobile AND really rare and cooler. Great native survivor.  Original options include the rare magnum style factory wheels which absolutely make the car.  I was told only 260 '63 LeSabres were optioned with these wheels. I bring it to Coffee and Cars in Palos Verdes and it gathers nearly as many people and photographers as $1 Million+ Gullwing Mercedes and the other poster cars there. Many are excited to see a LeSabre convertible for the first time or get to see a great example again since childhood.  The brakes, steering, motor, are all in top notch condition.  I live in the hills and need those things to be perfect with two little kid passengers.  The upholestry and convertible top are 3 months old and perfect!  The dash pad has even been redone too!  The chrome on the car is bright near perfect original. Best of all is the paint is high quality PPG and 3 months old and perfect! There isn't a blemish on the paint.  I can't find a bit of rust.  There are no swirls, chips, pits, bubbles, cracks, runs or anything wrong with the exterior paint.  The only problems I could find are the new power antenna was never hooked up and the air doesn't blow very hard.  I've never needed either though because it's only been driven in So. Cal with the top down.  Overall I'd give the car a 8.5 out of 10. Please feel free to contact to schedule a test drive. I reserve the right to end the option at any time as the car is advertised elsewhere and I have friends trying to trade cars for it. The car is part of a larger collection (mostly Mopar) kept at the Torrance airport most of the year.  I have had my fun and now it is time to thin the herd and rotate the collection.  This has been fun to cruise to Hollywood, car shows and pick the kids up from school.  I am willing to lose some of my investment knowing I had my fun and the car will live on another 50 years.
Here's a small Youtube video I took near my house showing how smoothly and quietly the car climbs the hills and handles corners: youtube.com/watch?v=Grm858azkQw

Facelifted Buick LaCrosse caught in China

Tue, 01 Jan 2013

Back in September, General Motors promised nine new or refreshed models for its Buick and GMC brands within 12 months, and while we've already seen what the updated 2014 GMC Sierra will look like, we're now getting our first look at what appears to be the facelifted 2014 Buick LaCrosse. Judging by a set of spy shots posted on Autohome showing a Chinese-market model, the updated sedan is getting a pretty big makeover, including a completely redesigned interior and a refreshed exterior.
From the outside, all of the usual midcycle updates have been made to the LaCrosse, including new lights and fascias. The new front end features a larger, reshaped seven-sided grille, LED-trimmed headlights and Buick's signature portholes are now mounted on the side edges of the hood to be more visible. The rear view has similarly small yet refined changes such as the new decklid with a chrome brow that stretches the full width of the car, to a more squared-off rear fascia with exhaust outlets pushed out to the corners. From the single shot we can see, the LaCrosse's new rump looks very similar to the Hyundai Equus.
The second-generation LaCrosse helped reestablish Buick as a near-premium automaker with its interior quality, and the next model could very well up the stakes even more. The new cabin design ditches the wraparound wood trim on the instrument panel and door panels for a smoother, more contemporary look. While it's hard to make out all of the changes, we can instantly see that the center stack is now more upright with fewer buttons, but the biggest news might be the cabin technology the 2014 LaCrosse might offer. Checking out the shot of the center console, we see what looks to be a pad similar to the handwriting recognition technology used by Audi, which would make this a first for GM.

Buick teases the next-gen LaCrosse

Sat, Oct 31 2015

Buick continues to play coy about the next-generation LaCrosse, but the latest teaser hints at a swoopy profile for the upcoming sedan. While mostly just a silhouette, the teaser does provide a glimpse of the flowing roof and upward crease around the rear fenders – especially handsome touches. The rest of the LaCrosse remains a mystery. The only other part that we've seen is the Avenir-inspired grille, which features a more angular surround and chrome wings jutting from emblem in the center. Styling aside, the brand claims that the sedan is now more engaging behind the wheel thanks to a stronger, lighter chassis and five-link rear suspension. Powertrain rumors are rather vague but suggest the 3.6-liter V6 will be available when the model arrives at dealers in 2016. One thing we know for certain about the LaCrosse is that it debuts at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. That only leaves a few more weeks for Buick to keep this mystery going. Related Video:

GM opens military discount to 21M veterans and their spouses

Thu, Apr 7 2016

May marks the start of National Military Appreciation Month, and General Motors is getting into the spirit by expanding its military discount program to, well, just about everyone. That includes a total of 21 million military veterans and their spouses, along with the current slate of active duty, reserve, and National Guard members. The discount can slash thousands of dollars off the price of a new Buick, Chevrolet, or GMC vehicles, with Automotive News listing an $1,100 discount on the top gas-powered version of the Malibu, the Premiere. Those that want a bit more spice can get $1,700 off the price of a last-generation 2015 Camaro SS, while truck buyers will enjoy $3,000 off the Chevy Silverado All Star. That's just a start, though, since the military discount can be paired with other GM incentives. The discount doesn't apply to everything, though. Some are understandable – none of Cadillac's vehicles are included in the deal, nor is the Corvette Z06. You'll also be unable to apply the discount to a range of base-level trims, like the Chevy Cruze or Equinox L, the base Colorado, or the entry level GMC Acadia, Canyon, and Terrain. A full list is available at GM's dedicated military discount website. GM's expanded discount plan runs from today through May 31.
