Up for bid is my 1986 Buick Lesabre Estate Wagon Hearse. I am unsure of the coach builder as there are no markings I am aware of. This is a standard Estate Wagon frame, making it a shorter body than most hearses, so it is an excellent entry level coach. It has the standard back door with a power window. The previous owner had removed the casket table, I installed the proper back seat and third row seat for the standard Estate Wagon. The back seat has seatbelts installed, but not the shoulder straps as there are no existing anchors on the car. You can install them yourself or remove the shoulder straps altogether. I was also able to find the proper trim as well, so it is truly a hearse for the family.
The car has a new water pump, thermostat, new battery and radiator. The stereo has been replaced with an in dash DVD player which can be easily wired to a back up camera. The brakes need work, it has the hydro boost system and the break booster is no longer working, it could be something simple or the brake booster may need to be replaced, probably not a big deal to someone who knows what they are doing. It can also be changed over to a vacuum break system with little modification. The air conditioner blows cool, but not cold and the cruise control doesn't engage. There is a rust spot near the back door as well as the spare tire compartment with small areas of light surface rust, but nothing major. There is also a dent on the passenger rear quarter panel which has mostly been bumped back out. As with nearly all Lesabres the plastic fenders are cracking, I have the majority of the missing pieces to the front which can be reassembled and fiberglassed. The back is mostly missing, but is a flat expanse, so it can be replaced with whatever you wish. The vinyl top has a bit of cracking, but all cracks and splits have been sealed with silicone and the top painted, so it is watertight. This was my daily driver for about two years and has always been reliable.
This car has endless possibilities, it can fit 4'x8' sheets of plywood with the front seat pushed all the way forward and has seating for eight.
Serious bidders only please, a $250.00 deposit is due within 72 hours of the closing bid with the difference payable via money order, cashier's check or cash in person within seven days. The car is being sold as is and where is. I have described the vehicle to the best of my knowledge, there may be other issues which I am unaware of, but it did pass all other points of a PA state inspection with the exception of the brakes. Thanks for looking and good luck!

Buick celebrates 110 years by naming most significant model of each decade
Sun, 23 Jun 2013In May of 1903, Buick began work on its first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, the first example of which was sold to a doctor in Flint, Michigan. That first sale was appropriate since later on, Buick became known as a "doctor's car." The Model B is the first of 11 cars chosen by Buick to highlight each decade of the company's 110-year history.
The 1916 D-45 Touring with a six-cylinder engine was Buick's highest seller that year, and helped push overall sales past six figures for the first time, making Buick the top-selling automotive brand. In 1931, Series 50 got an eight-cylinder engine, which helped the company survive the Great Depression. The 1936 Century was the first Buick that could hit 100 miles per hour, the 1949 Roadmaster had a supporting role in Rain Man, the 1953 Skylark had Italian wire wheels and the owner's name engraved on its steering wheel.
Then we have the iconic 1963 Riviera, the V6-powered 1975 Regal, and in 1987, the legendary GNX. With a turbocharged, intercooled V6 pumping out 276-horsepower it could hit 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. In 1999 Buick built the first car in China, the Century, and that country remains the brand's largest market.
Next-gen LaCrosse, Cascada convertible coming to Buick showrooms in 2016
Thu, Jul 24 2014It's difficult to overstate how significant the post-bankruptcy years have been for General Motors' Buick brand. Arguably the most improved American automaker, Buick has rounded out its range with an excellent compact in the Verano, a well-balanced midsizer in the Regal and a segment-busting mini-CUV, with the Encore. Seeking to keep that momentum going, the next several years will see the brand address a trio of its most obvious issues. First and foremost will be a replacement for the aging LaCrosse, a vehicle whose only bit of attention since its 2009 debut was a very light refresh in 2013. According to Automotive News, we should expect the next-generation LaCrosse to arrive late next year or early in 2016, as a 2016 model. AN expects big design changes, as Buick attempts to further the LaCrosse from its popular platform-mate, the Chevrolet Impala. The changes won't be so radical, though, as to do away with its front-drive architecture, as the latest version of the Epsilon platform will underpin the next LaCrosse. The 3.6-liter V6 is likely to carry on, although a smaller, budget-minded offering is also extremely likely (we'll eat our hat if it's not the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the Regal, Verano and Cadillac CTS et al.). The other issue plaguing Buick's lineup is a lack of a midsize crossover. This is particularly damning for the brand as most of its showrooms are shared with GMC, which boasts its own midsizer in the form of the Terrain. With the upcoming Envision (see here for teasers), that problem should be addressed. Like the LaCrosse, the Envision will likely be a 2016 model. It will debut and launch in China early next year, while we can expect it to arrive stateside later next year, or even early in 2016. For American consumers, both a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and the aforementioned 2.0T could see action in the Envision. Finally, while Buick can boast a pair of vehicles available with manual transmissions, it's still far from what we'd call a brand for fun driving experiences. Of course, one way of solving that problem is with a two-door convertible. Yes, it's extremely likely that the Euro-market Opel Cascada convertible will be sold in the US early in 2016. Whether it keeps the Cascada name is unclear (all in favor of Skylark, say "aye"). Regardless, adding a reasonably priced, relaxed, two-door droptop to the Buick range to fill the space left by the not-so-dearly departed Chrysler 200 Convertible seems like a no brainer.
Jay Leno finds no detail neglected on Icon's Derelict 1948 Buick Super
Wed, Apr 1 2015Jonathan Ward seems to have one of the greatest jobs in the world. As the CEO at Icon, he's in charge of not only the company's fantastic trucks but its Derelict series of semi-restored classics, as well. Ward's vehicles are no strangers to Jay Leno's Garage, but the latest guest on the show might be one of Icon's coolest yet. What looks like a 1948 Buick Super Convertible on the outside hides the supercharged heart of a Corvette ZR1 underneath. Like the rest of the Derelict series, this old Buick's toasted paint and pitted chrome are all part of the charm of the car, and it's really a case of beauty being more than skin deep. The Super rides on a custom chassis and suspension to make the convertible a far better driver than even a pristine original example. Plus, Ward hides all sorts of modern upgrades inside that are practically invisible until he points them out. Leno absolutely falls in love with driving the Derelict Buick. If his enthusiasm grabs you, the video below from Ward goes much deeper into the build process of this awesome project.
