Here's a rare find for you Buick guys !  I found this car back in 2002 for sale in West Virginia and flew out and looked it over , drove the car , and bought the car and drove it home . I bought the car because my Dad bought a brand new teal 1968 Le Sabre Deluxe 4  dr sedan and I always loved that big Buick ride and the body lines .

So after I drove the car home I decided to find all the NOS parts I could find and make this 1968  Le Sabre Custom into a Deluxe model . After years of searching I found all the Deluxe  moldings and also the rare stainless steel body side moldings that was a dealer installed option . I didn't stop there !

I kept searching and found more NOS parts . I found and bought  both front and rear tri shield emblems , right side mirror , side marker lights , front bumper , and the list keeps on going and going .

While searching for NOS parts the front suspension was replaced , new springs all four corners , drive shaft center bearing replaced and all u joints .

The brakes were all gone through as well , replaced tires with reproduction bias ply tires and put Buick road wheels on the car with new center caps as well .

The interior is real close to new , in fact the seats have been reworked and NOS correct Buick fabric as well !  The original carpet and interior looks great . The am/fm factory stereo radio sounds great .

The car was repainted before I bought it from the original owner with a nice but older driver quality paint job . There is one small dent on hood near windshield molding . I have been told that dent busters may be able to get the dent out but I have never took the time to take the car to them . I did find a NOS molding for the hood and will go with the car at the time of sale .

The engine runs great and the transmission shifts smoothly . The 350-2 runs very smooth and uses no oil .  I believe the mileage is correct but no paperwork to verify . When you were to come and see the car and drive I believe you would agree with me .

Also I have replaced the radiator , hoses , thermostat , water pump , belts , and more in the recent years . Also the single exhaust has been replaced with duals and has very low mellow sound at idle as well as driving down the road .

I believe I have descibed the car the best I can . Take a look at the pictures and if you have any questions or would like to see any more pictures please contact me via email !

Thanks for reading and happy bidding to all !

GM warning 800,000 owners that their cars may need oil changes more frequently than they say

Fri, 05 Apr 2013

The days of changing your engine oil every 3,000 miles are long gone thanks to most cars having automatic oil monitoring systems, but about 800,000 General Motors vehicles apparently have incorrect monitoring software that is leading to premature engine component wear. According to Autoweek, certain 2010-2012 Buick LaCrosse, Regal, Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain models equipped with 2.4-liter four-cylinder engines could be going too long in between oil changes resulting in a higher-than-normal number of warranty claims for the engine's balance chain. The balance chain links the balance shaft to the crankshaft, and a worn one can produce higher noise levels.
As a fix, GM dealers will be reprogramming the software for the monitors in an effort to reduce the interval between oil changes, which varies based on driving habits and conditions. Through February 2015, the software update will be done at no cost to vehicle owners, but since this is not a recall, after that point, it will be up to the discretion of dealers as to whether or not they will charge for the service. What isn't immediately clear is whether GM plans on giving assistance to out-of-warranty customers who are experiencing engine issues from the worn chain.

2014 Buick Regal GS

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.
