Grand National Clone on 2040-cars
El Paso, Texas, United States
The story on this vehicle is: I purchased this vehicle back in February of this year for a birthday present to myself. I flew into Phoenix and drove the vehicle back to Fort Bliss, Texas with no problems. I then left on the 26 of February to go overseas to Afghanistan and I just arrived back home. The vehicle has been in the garage and/or covered up with a car cover. Since I didn't have a chance to give a once over, I have now and the car is fine. I have put a new positive battery cable on and a new alternator and new K&N filter and edelbrock air cleaner. Other than that, it could stand to use an oil change and that's basically it. I just bought a 1996 Chevrolet Impala from guy off ebay out of California, so selling this one because I don't need two fast cars in my driveway plus I am going back overseas in a couple of weeks.
What we have here is a: 1. 1987 Buick Grand National Clone with the Grand National Hood and Grand National Hood Insulation and everything blacked out with no rust. 2. Engine: 350 Vortec out of a 1995 Chevrolet Tahoe. Heads out of a 1998 Chevrolet Tahoe, and not to mention dual electric fans. 3. Transmission: 700R4 with a shift kit and you feel every gear. Rear End: Posi rear end with 3.73 gears. 4. Has A/C and Heat, both work, but A/C will need recharging. 5. Single exhaust out to the right rear tire. Single flowmaster muffler. 6. Runs, drives, and shifts fine with no leaks. 7. Exterior: I do not know the paint color, but if I had to say, it is a charcoal black with some type of flake. 8. No 20 footer here, paint looks real good with one bubble spot at the rear. Both front and rear bumpers were painted the same color also. 9. Interior: Black leather with one rip behind the driver side seat. 10. Aftermarket Pioneer CD player, One Pioneer 5 1/4 speaker in each door, and four Pioneer 6x9 speakers in the rear deck. Sounds nice. Custom divider board in trunk to hide amp if you decide to put subs in the trunk, and wires are already ran for an amp and subs from previous owner. 11. Aftermarket alarm, very sensitive, Aftermarket gauges, for volts, oil, and temperature and everything works properly. 12. Lights, signals, gauges, power windows, and power locks work as they should. 13. Most of the rubber seals and or moldings are brand new and new K&N air filter and edelbrock air cleaner, and new alternator. 14. Powder Coated Tyfun 22 Inch Rims on brand new tires, 235/30/22 at the front and 245/30/22 at the back. 15. Vehicle is lowered 2 inches in the front. Disc brakes in the front and Drums in the rear. 16. Needs a new windshield wiper switch and/or lever, previous owner never installed one because he hardly drove and never in the rain and neither did I. 17. Needs a new horn switch and signal switch lever tip is broken off but still works. 18. This is an everyday driver, good solid car, fly in and drive it home, no problems. 19. I am selling this car because I just bought a 1996 Chevrolet Impala when I got back from overseas. 20. If you need any more pic or have any questions feel free to contact me by email or @ 404-680-2857 or 770-601-6223. 21. With that have been said no bs and no scammers and good luck bidding. 22. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the buyer.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
2021 Buick Envision's bold design means small space gains, a few big losses
Wed, Jul 29 2020So far, every preview we've had of the 2021 Buick Envision compels us to believe that it isn't playing in the same league as the current Envision, nor is it playing the same sport. The chiseled, crisp exterior is matched by an interior that, in pictures at least, sends a genuine premium message. GM Authority got early intel on dimensions for the new crossover, the numbers showing that the only close relationship between the current and the new Envision is in size. According to GMA, the 2021 Buick will be 185.5 inches long on a wheelbase of 109.4 inches, it'll stand 74.1 inches wide without mirrors, and 64.6 inches tall. Front and rear tracks are matched at 63.3 inches. That makes the new version 1.8 inches longer than the current five-seater, with a wheelbase stretched 0.9 inches, while width is 1.7 inches wider but overall height is 2.2 inches lower. The track has been expanded by 1.3 inches front and back. The four-trim lineup will be base, Preferred, Essence and Avenir. Buick's website pegs the current Envision at the single curb weight of 3,755 pounds. GMA writes that the new car comes in at 3,685 pounds in base form, or 3,932 in top Avenir trim. Those could all represent weights for front-wheel-drive models. AWD will be optional on all but the base 2021 Envision. The price for edgier design is a tiny cut in interior room in front. In the coming crossover, front headroom shrinks 0.4 inches to 39.6 inches, front legroom shrinks by 0.5 inches, front shoulder room goes down by 0.3 inches. Front hip room gains 0.7 inches, however, Occupants in the row behind get a tiny bit more space in two dimensions, rear headroom going up 0.4 inches, rear legroom by 1.8 inches, Rear shoulder room gets shaved 0.7 inches, and those haunches on the 2021 model take a bite out of rear hip room, that spec dropping by 5.7 inches to 47.4. Cargo room sees a slight dip, too, there being 25.2 cubic feet of space behind the second-row of seats compared to 26.9 feet available now. The gap grows with the rear seats down, the coming Envision able to swallow 52.7 cubic feet behind the front row, the current Envision managing 60 cubic feet. When product starts showing up on dealer lots, we're to expect a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder under the hood with 230 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, shifting through GM's nine-speed automatic transmission. GMA believes pricing will start around $34,000, which would be about $500 more than the current Envision.  Â
Weekly Recap: Volkswagen moves forward under Muller
Sat, Sep 26 2015Most stunning was the speed of it all. On the morning of September 18, Volkswagen AG stood atop the automotive world. It was profitable and sold more cars than Toyota and General Motors, its two main rivals for global supremacy. By nightfall, the company would be embroiled in scandal. Revelations the German auto giant cheated on diesel emissions testing in the United States reverberated from Washington to Wolfsburg, Germany. What started out as a problem with 482,000 VWs and Audis in the US exploded into an international scandal. Millions of vehicles have the rigged software, meaning VW broke environmental rules as its cars spewed pollutants all over the world. The fallout began immediately. Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn – one of the most respected and capable executives in the business – apologized on Sunday and Tuesday. On Wednesday he resigned. As the week progressed, the company's stock took a beating and credit agencies threatened to drop their ratings. VW dealers and owners said they felt betrayed. The automaker hired a law firm that defended BP after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. The EPA is already extending its testing procedures to look for "defeat devices" like the ones used by Volkswagen. On Friday the company announced a major restructuring. Matthias Muller, Porsche's chief for the last five years, took over as CEO of Volkswagen and is charged with picking up the pieces of a shattered company facing regulatory action and lawsuits. With GM, Toyota, and Takata scandals still fresh, Volkswagen will likely experience unprecedented levels of scrutiny. Additionally, VW's markets in the United States, Canada, and Mexico will be combined into a North American region under the leadership of former Skoda boss Winfried Vahland, though US chief executive Michael Horn will stay on. The company is also realigning its brands by specialty and streamlining its board. Firings, government action, restructurings, and international outrage – things that usually build up over months or years – all occurred in about a week. With dizzying speed, Volkswagen's future has changed dramatically. It all happened, it's still happening, so fast.
