1987 Buick Grand National 50k Miles. Number Matching. All Original Body Panels on 2040-cars
Novi, Michigan, United States
I'm selling my 1987 Buick Grand National. I've owned it for almost seven years. I'm the third owner. It has 50435 miles. I bought this car in New Jersey. It has a totally rust free body. It was stripped down to bare metal. There are no patches or bondo in the body. It was repainted with Sikkens Base Coat/ Clear Coat. The body is arrow straight. The car is basically rebuilt from top to bottom. The undercarriage is unrestored. It never had any undercoating applied. The drivetrain is number matching. It has about 4 thousand miles on it since it was built. It was built with the best parts available at the time. It was built in 2004. The interior is all original and in excellent condition. I did replace the gray insert in the drivers seat due to me tearing it with a screwdiver in my pocket. A local upholstery shop had some original material to use. This is a solid roof car with nearly all options except t-tops, digital dash, and twilight sentenal. Engine. Forged pistons. Balanced rotating assembly. Arp bolts. Comp Cams Stage1 Cam. Comp Cams Valve Springs. Manly Valves. Blueprinted oil pump housing. ESP Maf Pipe. Plenum 70. RJC Power Plate-P. 50# injectors. 70mm throttlebody. Walbro 340 pump with hot wire kit. 80 pounds oil pressure on startup. 40 pounds when hot. The engine dynoed at 548hp. It runs excellent and can be driven anywhere on 93 octane. T/A Performance headers and Flowmaster exhaust with stock location muffler. Precision Front Mount Intercooler. 6176E Precision Turbo. Trans. Built by Turbine Tech in Wayne, New Jersey. 3000 Stall Converter with lockup. This converter is very tight. You won't know you have a 3000 stall driving around town. I really like it. Turbine Tech. Fabric Clutch. Rearend. Stock 8.5 totally rebuilt by Corrinthian Couchworks in New Jersey. New bearings, Posi rebuilt. 373 US gearset. Suspension. New idler arm and Centerlinl. Big Front Swaybar with urentane bushings. Herb Adams 2 inch drop spring all around. Koni Shocks. Brakes. Original powermaster with rebuilt pump and new accumulator. Works good. Aluminum drums on the rear. Tires Mickey Thompson radials front and rear. This car handles better than any A or G body I've owned. It has no rattles or sqeaks. It really speaks to being a low mileage car. The only thing not working is the power antenae. The motor is fine. It needs the plastic mast cable replaced. I've ordered one and will try to replace it before the car sells. Everything else works including the A/C. It still has it's R12 in it. This has been a great car. I haven't used it much in the last few years. Whoever gets it will be getting a great car. I've got 30k invested in it. Good bidding. No reserve. Any questions. Please email me. I will call you back if you want more info. |

Spy photos of the upcoming Buick Regal wagon, via the Opel Insignia
Fri, Nov 11 2016We're pretty sure Buick is working on a Regal wagon. And because the Regal is the Opel Insignia on the other side of the pond, these spy photos show us what's in store when it eventually turns into a Buick. The rakish wagon was lightly camouflaged, giving us our best look at the upcoming vehicle. The wagon shares a lot of the same design cues as the Insignia sedan that we spotted earlier. The bottom of the front end is covered in heavy camouflage, masking the wagon's grille. It's unsure to tell whether the black nostril-like pieces sitting above the grille are vents or just tape. The prototype still shares the same upright nose as the model we spotted earlier, giving the wagon a wider stance than its predecessor. The side profile of the wagon is sleeker, thanks to the extra four inches between the axles, than the current model is, with the design mimicking that of a shooting brake instead of a traditional wagon. The rear end of the wagon is also more upright with the taillights and bottom part of the fender jutting out beyond the glass. The boxy design sitting atop of the rear end doesn't match the rest of the vehicle and appears to be a part of the car's camouflage. With the tunnel-like design at the top gone, the rear end would have a more streamlined design. With the next Regal expected to continue on as a rebadged Insignia, the likelihood of a Regal Wagon in the US look good, but aren't set in stone. Late last year, Buick filed two trademarks for "Tourx" and "Regal Tourx," pointing towards a high-riding wagon with all-wheel drive. Imagine these spy shots with a taller suspension and some crossover-inspired trim pieces and you have a wagon that could take on the likes of the Subaru Outback and Audi Allroad. Buick Avenir Concept saunters into Detroit [w/video]
Mon, Jan 12 2015We'd never accuse the most recent crop of Buicks of being ugly. Then again, we'd also never argue that they're overly pretty. Instead, they waltz along a middle ground, not standing out while not causing offense. The Buick Avenir Concept occupies no such middle ground – it's gorgeous. A long hood and a short deck fit well with an evolved form of Buick's long-running design language, while traditional highlights such as the waterfall grille and portholes mingle nicely with newer touches, like a beautiful, curvaceous set of rear haunches that bleed into the rear decklid. The cabin, meanwhile, is solidly in the concept realm, with a prominent 12-inch touchscreen as its centerpiece. Like the exterior, the Avenir's cabin is an evolution of current Buick designs, with a curve that tops the dash and feeds into the doors. A higher center console is finished in buffed wood, although the majority of the interior materials appear to be fine leather. Check out our gallery of live images of the new Avenir, at the Buick stand at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. Show full PR text Buick Explores Future with Avenir Concept New design proportion, device integration, rejuvenating interior push brand forward DETROIT – Buick introduced the Avenir concept today in advance of the North American International Auto Show – a flagship sedan exploring progressive design with new levels of passenger well-being and technology integration. The Avenir – French for future – is distinguished by its premium sports proportions and all-new interpretations of traditional Buick cues. It is the creation of a global team of Buick designers and sculptors who were inspired by historic Buick concepts, which pushed traditional boundaries, shaped future Buick models and influenced the entire auto industry. "Avenir embodies Buick design, which centers on effortless beauty and presence without pretense," said Ed Welburn, vice president of General Motors Global Design. "It demonstrates the growing international reach of Buick and offers an exciting vision of where it can go." The Avenir's sculptural surfacing, expressive proportion and Buick's signature sweep-spear bodyside visually cue an exceptional driving experience that awaits inside. "The interior is designed with the driver and passengers' comfort and well-being in mind," said Welburn.
Buick will cease using ‘Buick’ badge on vehicles from 2019
Mon, Mar 12 2018GM Authority recognized that the recently unveiled 2019 Buick Envision is missing something: a " Buick" badge on the left side of the tailgate. Every other vehicle the carmaker sells features that script, but not the new mid-sized crossover. When the site asked about the omission, "representatives recently told GM Authority that Buick will stop using the brand badge on the rear of its vehicles, starting with the 2019 model year." The only identifiers that will remain are the three-color Tri Shield logo and the model nameplate, i.e., "Envision" or " Regal." It's a bold game for a mass-market major automaker, though Audi, Hyundai and Volkswagen follow the same trend. Even Bugatti, Rolls-Royce, Bentley, and Aston Martin affix their brand names to their vehicles within company icons or on brake calipers, albeit in small fonts. The coming Continental will wear the word "Bentley" across its trunk, silverware the present Continental does without. Porsche allows customers to delete model designations, but it must be requested. At the other end of the spectrum, the Ford Mustang Bullitt wears zero badges, but the Bullitt is a special edition of a well known model that otherwise advertises its provenance everywhere. Buick plays in hard-fought segments where mass appeal overrules instantly-identifiable design daring. Those kinds of carmakers usually want to take every opportunity to advertise every sale. Remember the last Buick to go without a make badge? The terrifically handsome Buick Avista concept that wore only two Tri Shield logos and its model name on the decklid. Perhaps that gave Buick some ideas. If the carmaker plans to start putting out cars like the Avista, then this move makes perfect sense. Update: A commenter pointed out that Hyundai vehicles don't have "Hyundai" badges, only the "Flying H." We've thought of some other brands/models, too. So Buick has mass-market company. Related Video:
