1986 Buick Grand National, VERY, VERY clean car. T-top car.May be one of the cleanest and straightest G/N's you will see. I am the second owner of the car and has a ton of work done to it. I have just about every stock part to put car back to original if someone wanted to do so. (all comes with car upon purchase. Runs very well and is extremely fast. Paint Is less than a year old and was taken down to metal to do the job right.(no rust ANYWHERE on this car and NEVER has been) It has been stored in climatley controlled building ALL of it's life. When paint work was done I had a new rear bumber strip installed and several new seals along with window mouldings. ALL NOS GM.

Engine has less than 300 miles on it, has been bored .030 and has forged pistions and rods and crank have all been balanced. Roller camshaft. Champion ported iron heads, intake ported, 110 lb injectors (runs on e-85),Hemco and the list goes on and on.

F.A.S.T. system w/data logger

Trans is a th350 with trans brake (which has not been used yet) has a hughes 9 inch convertor with steel stator and anti-balloon plate. B/M shifter

Turbo is a 63 p trim (Turbonetics)

3 inch down-pipe

Single shot stainless 3 inch exhaust with borla muffler and cut out.

Rear-end has Moser axles and long wheel studs and chrome cover, pinion snubber as well.

Adjustable upper and lower rear control arms with QA1 rear coil over conversion along with large rear sway bar. Brand new with less than 80 miles on them.

Front end has drop spindles on them. Brand new w/less than 80 miles on them.

Reds double pumper fuel pump and hot wire kit along with fuel regulator.

Fiberglass front bumper.

Large front mount intercooler.

BRAND NEW Billet specialties wheels and new M/T front runners and M/t 275 Drag Radials. Less than 80 miles on them.

This car has been an absolute fun car to own. I have done a ton of upgrades to the car over what the original owner did. This G/N is not a typical rattle trap. It is very tight and very smooth ad has no rattles when driving. It does need a few things to really make it right. The headliner and sunvisors need to be re-done. I do have a new headliner that will go with the car. The drivers side exhaust manifold is starting to leak. I can see a crack in it. I do have a brand new set of Headers for the car that will go with it as well. Other than that, that is all I know that the car needs to have done. I am going to go back to doing some super gas racing and really do not want the car to just sit.(I only put approx 80 miles on it since May of this year.) I have over $15000.00 worth of work done to the car since I have owned it. I also have a ton of documentation since the car was new that will go with it as well. Like I mentioned earlier in the post. I do have just about every stock piece that came off the car that will go with it to the person who purchases it. I'm sure I maybe forgetting some details here but if you have anyquestions feel free to ask. I just have not had the time to use the car hardly at all. Thanks for looking at my ad.-----Mark

GM may have teased a whole group of electric vehicles

Tue, Jan 12 2021

During GM's big CES press conference, the automaker highlighted a number of its upcoming electric car-related projects from delivery vans to the upcoming flagship Cadillac Celestiq. In the middle of it all, a collection of mystery cars sat in the background behind speakers. They were in the dark, lit only with their running lights, and while it's possible they're just generic filler cars or concepts, we think they could be future products. Our best shot of the cars together is shown above, and we can pretty easily identify three of the vehicles. In the center is obviously the GMC Hummer EV. On either side of it are Cadillacs. To the left seems to be the Lyriq crossover, and to the right is the Celestiq sedan. Two of these cars have production dates, and the third has been confirmed for eventual production, just without timing. This is why we think the rest of the cars are upcoming models. The next most easily identified car is on the near right behind the Cadillac Celestiq. It very clearly has a Chevy bowtie illuminated in the running lights. And looking closely, it appears to be a pickup truck. It's difficult to make out anything more than that. The nose does look a bit more rounded and swept back than the brick-like designs of the Silverado truck line. That also squares with what seemed to be the upcoming truck that appeared in the background of yet another GM presentation. GM previously said this electric Chevy truck will be a full-size model with up to 400 miles of range. That leaves us with three more mysterious models. Over to the left behind the Cadillac Lyriq are what appear to be a pair of crossovers. The one on the far left looks low, curvy, and possibly with a fastback roof. The one on the right is taller, boxier, and probably more of a full-size people hauler. It's hard to say much more beyond that. They could be new electric Buicks, which would fit in nicely with that brand's crossover portfolio, and would likely be highly successful in China, where Buicks, crossovers and electric cars are all rather hot commodities. As for the mystery car on the far right, it's quite a puzzle. We can at least rule out Buick and Cadillac, and GMC since it's definitely a car, and a rather small one compared with the other cars on display. That leaves Chevy, and possibly the autonomous division Cruise. We're leaning toward it being a Chevy, since the first Cruise vehicle is going to be a boxy pod of sorts.

2018 Buick Enclave spied looking slim in Death Valley

Thu, Sep 8 2016

The nine-year-old Buick Enclave is well past its prime, but this set of spy photos reveals that GM won't put the vehicle out of its misery, but will give the vehicle a large update instead. Our photographers managed to catch Buick testing a heavily-camouflaged 2018 Enclave testing below sea level near Death Valley. Buick was testing the prototype in Nevada earlier this year, but slapped a trailer onto the back of the SUV. Thanks to the camouflage that covers the badging, headlights, taillights, and hood, there's no way to confirm if the prototype is really a Buick or something from Chevrolet. But the circular outline on the grille has us leaning towards it being a Buick. Five LED running lights shine through the heavy camouflage, while Buick's iconic waterfall grille is prominently uncovered. The Enclave, which came out in 2008, shares the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. With the new Acadia slimming down and ditching the old Lambda platform in favor of the Chi platform, the Enclave will surely follow suit. The Enclave, though, is expected to get a stretched version of the Chi platform with three rows. While the entire body is concealed, the prototype's side profile looks to be slimmer than the current Enclave. With the addition of the new, lighter platform, the Enclave is expected to get GM's new 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission added later down the road. The new Enclave is expected to make its debut early next year as a 2018 model, which will be followed by the reveal of the Traverse shortly after. Junkyard Gem: 1957 Buick Special Riviera Sedan

Sat, Oct 23 2021

While I find plenty of 1950s Detroit cars in quick-inventory-turnover self-service wrecking yards during my travels, they tend to be the ordinary post sedans that were built by the millions during the heyday of the three-on-the-tree manual transmission and nuclear-attack symbols on car radios. The more sought-after convertibles, coupes, and four-door hardtops are tougher to find in such yards, which makes today's 1957 Buick Special Riviera in a yard in northeastern Colorado an A-List Junkyard Gem. During the late 1950s, the Special ranked at the bottom of the Buick prestige hierarchy just below the more upscale Super and Century. Of course, this was the era of Alfred Sloan's "Ladder of Success" and the lowliest Special outranked even the nicest Olds Ninety-Eight on the Swank-O-Meter. If you were the Buick-driving Joneses and your neighbors had proletarian Chevrolets, aspirational Pontiacs, or petit-bourgeois Oldsmobiles, they were failing to keep up with you… but then you'd see a new Cadillac and feel intense envy for your victorious rival. The Ladder of Success collapsed later on, when the top-trim-level Chevy Caprices began to compete against their Cadillac Calais big brother, but it was still standing tall in 1957. The Riviera name ended up being used for its own distinct model starting in 1963 and continuing nearly into our current century, but in 1957 it was a trim level designation, used to indicate a Century or Special sedan with the then-radical pillarless hardtop design. This car listed at $2,780, which comes to a cool $27,630 in 2021 dollars. That price included the 364-cubic-inch (6.0-liter) Buick Nailhead V8 engine, rated at 250 horsepower and enough torque to peel 1957's rock-hard bias-ply tires right off their rims. The Special had a three-on-the-tree column-shift manual as standard equipment, but the original buyer of this car sprang for the extra $220 ($2,185 today) to get the Dynaflow transmission. While the shift indicator looks just like the ones on GM cars equipped with the two-speed Powerglide, the Dynaflow was an odd beast used only in Buicks; while it had gears for two forward speeds, the driver had to select low gear manually. Otherwise, a complex torque converter rig provided an experience something like today's CVTs (though with better smoothness and much more wasted power), in which the car stayed in high gear all the time and used the torque converter to multiply as needed.
