This is a great example of these cars. Always garaged and covered , and babied, every day, since we have owned it. Show winner every time shown. One repaint, stripped to bare metal and used PPG products. The paint really is stunning. Engine was replaced with a new GM short block at 130,000 miles in 1995, so you can tell it has not been driven much. When the engine was replaced the heads were restored with new valves and springs. A "93" chip/prom was installed, rebuilt stock turbo from Poston. KN air filter, really a strong running car. I think we added every chrome piece available under the hood. All the original pieces are present and come with the car. Transmission was rebuilt and shift kit installed, rebuilt stock converter, works great. The car runs great and there are no problems with drivability. The front suspension/steering was all replaced at 139,000 miles. "X" braces from Poston were installed behind the rear seat. All brakes were replaced including the hydro boost unit replaced with a Poston rebuilt one. Interior is perfect, new carpet, headliner. The gas gauge doesn't work correctly and never has. GM recalling nearly 4,000 vehicles over airbag concerns
Thu, 31 Jan 2013Four different General Motors vehicles from the 2012 model year are being recalled over a potential airbag issue. The driver's side airbag shorting bar in the 2012 Buick Verano and 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, Cruze and Sonic might make contact with the airbag terminals, even during a crash. If so, the airbag won't deploy when it should, possibly increasing injury to the driver.
The recall is expected to begin on February 13 for the 3,896 units that might be affected. GM will notify owners who can then take their vehicles to dealers to have the airbag coil replaced. A bulletin from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration below has more info.
Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee returns June 19, celebrates with new trailer
Thu, May 22 2014A brand new season of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee on the way - it will involve Seinfeld and comedian Robert Klein going to Sing Sing Correctional Facility in what appears to be a Jaguar Mark II - and the trailer is out now. In addition to Klein there'll be appearances by Sarah Jessica Parker, George Wallace, Aziz Ansari and John Stewart. We don't get to see all the rides, but a Buick Riviera GS gets some airtime and the 1949 Porsche 356/2 Gmund from the segment with Jay Leno makes a cameo.
