1931 Buick Series 90,  5-passenger coupe.

Wonderful old car in original, unrestored, unmolested condition.  Odometer shows 63,195 miles, believed to be original.  This car has undergone one repaint many years ago; is all black now, but appears to have been originally a maroon color body with black fenders and roof.   The interior is original except the front carpet has been replaced with a rubber mat.  The original mohair seats are in impressive condition considering the age, and two of the three rear window shades are in place.  Much of the exterior chrome has been redone and looks great. The original wooden-spoke wheels have been professionally refinished and fitted with correct BFGoodrich wide-white tires and tubes. The straight-8 engine and 3-speed transmission are as original, and there is a new exhaust system in place. This car runs and drives well, easily capable of 60 miles per hour, very presentable and roadworthy in its current condition, and has won second place at a recent car show.  A great addition to any local parade, fundraiser, or wedding, or an excellent candidate for an easy restoration.
Some known issues:  Gas gauge is missing.  Horn and headlights do not work, but new wiring harness has been purchased but not yet installed. Original radiator shutter arrangement has been disabled, and original carb heater has been removed. Car was equipped with optional heater which has also been removed. Some interior handles are loose.
This car has excellent investment potential, as older, "unrestored" cars are becoming more rare every year. This car is now over 80 years old, and with some love and attention, would be a spectacular example of a classic automobile.

2016 Buick Regal prices slashed

Tue, Aug 4 2015

The Buick Regal is getting an aggressive price cut for the 2016 model year to keep pace in a crossover-centric world and its own hyper-competitive midsize sedan segment. The 2016 Buick Regal GS now starts at $35,915, after a $925 destination charge, which amounts to a $3,320 price cut compared to 2015. There's no de-contenting associated with the cost decreases either, and the vehicles are now available with Apple CarPlay. The lower prices follow through much of the lineup. The 1SP Premium model sees a $2,535 savings at $33,415 after destination; the 1SL trim falls $1,000 to $30,840; and the 1SV maintains at $28,915. The decision to make these cuts is meant to better position the midsize sedan against its rivals. "We know consumer sentiment towards sedans has decreased," Buick spokesperson Nick Richards said to Autoblog. CUVs like the company's own Encore are where buyers are moving. "Repositioning the Regal to more aggressively compete in the midsize sedan segment is the first of many steps we are taking in advance of next year's product offensive," Buick sales vice president Duncan Aldred said in a letter to dealers, according to USA Today. The decision probably couldn't have come at a better time because the Regal has suffered so far in 2015. Through July, the company has delivered 10,928 of them, down a significant 19.3 percent from the same period last year. A recent study also found that the model was among the most likely in the US to be sold after just one year of ownership.

Buick really wants us to know the new Cascada convertible won't leak

Thu, Apr 16 2015

Quality testing on the factory floor is nothing to joke about. Automakers need to make sure the work being done is up to snuff, and that means some extensive checks. For Buick, that means using a lot of water for each of its Cascada convertibles. Each vehicle that rolls off the floor is subject to a high-pressure, ten-minute soaking that sprays nearly 20 gallons of water from each nozzle during every bath, just to guarantee the fabric roof hasn't sprung any leaks. For some reason, Buick has chosen to show off this testing with the help of what we imagine is the Gorton's Fisherman's baby cousin. Check out the strange testing video, available up top.

Buick could import Envision crossover from China

Fri, Nov 13 2015

Reports about the Buick Envision's likely arrival in the US go back even before the midsize crossover's debut in China last year, but the brand still doesn't have a official decision about whether to bring it here. According to The Detroit News, the company is somewhat concerned about a poor consumer reaction to launching a Chinese-made model in this country. Even if Buick officials are slightly apprehensive about the public perception, the concerns might not hold back the Envision in US. An anonymous source also tells The Detroit News that the brand intends to launch the CUV early next year and wants to sell around 40,000 of them annually. However, the UAW is reportedly not happy about the possibility of a Chinese-produced model coming here. The Envision launched at the Chengdu Motor Show as a step between the compact Encore and three-row Enclave. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with stop/start and 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Buick offers the CUV with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The interior features active noise cancellation and an eight-inch infotainment system. The Envision also seems like a natural fit for Buick in the US due to the obvious hole in its CUV lineup, and the abundant rumors suggest that the brand sees the possibilities for it. The company now needs to decide whether to take a chance here and offer a vehicle from China.
