I bought her 7 or 8 years ago. I'm sure everything is legit on the car (numbers match etc). The guy who installed my new top told me that the 104,000 mileage was "NOT" rollover because the interior was original. I replaced the top and the top motor (a hydraulic line is leaking right now). I replaced the windshield and I had the transmission overhauled less then 5000 miles ago. No rust from what I have been able to see. Car has stayed in my garage since I've owned her. I put in a 12 disk CD player and new speakers, oil pressure, temperature and battery gauges. Oh, had an air condition guy look at it...The compressor is fine but the air conditioner needs some kind of internal switch (he said 300 dollars). The car has electronic ignition, no points or condenser. The carburetor was rebuilt less then 1000 miles ago. The electric windows work slow but okay but the electric wind wings do not. I'm not sure, I think the electric seats work two out of the three directions. I replaced one of the two cornering lights and sockets/frame. I put in a heavy duty double fan for parades and I went to duel exhaust. The rubber (doors, windows and top) needs replacing (car leaks everywhere during rain). The tires are very good, almost new. I also like the fender skirts. The handbook is the original. I Believe the car originally (in 1965) belong to a doctor in Oklahoma. I learned from research that there are approx. 60 of these cars left (1965 Electra convertibles) and that mine has many rare factory options such as the cornering lights, wind wings and factory cruise control. The asking bidding price is really, really good, too good, so I have been told. I haven't started her in 6 months but spray the carburetor and charge the battery and she starts right up.

Buick teases the next-gen LaCrosse
Sat, Oct 31 2015Buick continues to play coy about the next-generation LaCrosse, but the latest teaser hints at a swoopy profile for the upcoming sedan. While mostly just a silhouette, the teaser does provide a glimpse of the flowing roof and upward crease around the rear fenders – especially handsome touches. The rest of the LaCrosse remains a mystery. The only other part that we've seen is the Avenir-inspired grille, which features a more angular surround and chrome wings jutting from emblem in the center. Styling aside, the brand claims that the sedan is now more engaging behind the wheel thanks to a stronger, lighter chassis and five-link rear suspension. Powertrain rumors are rather vague but suggest the 3.6-liter V6 will be available when the model arrives at dealers in 2016. One thing we know for certain about the LaCrosse is that it debuts at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. That only leaves a few more weeks for Buick to keep this mystery going. Related Video:
Buick Encore blitzes first-year sales predictions
Sat, 01 Mar 2014With its first full year of sales in the bag, it's safe to say that Buick has a hit on its hands with the Encore. US buyers have snatched up 31,046 of the small, premium crossovers since the Encore went on sale in January of 2013, while 97,311 were sold globally (not counting its counterparts from Opel and Vauxhall).
While we liked the Encore when we first drove it, we'll admit, we weren't sure how the tiny CUV would do. In fact, the first thing Executive Editor Chris Paukert wrote about the Encore was, "We admit it. We have no earthly idea how this whole thing is going to shake out." But it's done well, and has been subject to heavy demand over the past year, blowing away the estimates of analysts, who, according to an August story from Automotive News, projected no more than 18,500 units would be sold in 2013.
"Right out of the gate, demand for the Encore was high," Tony DiSalle, vice president of Buick marketing said in a statement. "It accounted for most of the segment's growth last year and that's because it offers the right safety, technology and features in the right-sized vehicle for many customers."
Buick mulling more powerful Encore; diesel too
Mon, 21 Oct 2013Looking to set itself apart in the mid-luxury segment, Buick is looking to introduce a diesel engine somewhere in its US lineup. And according to Edmunds, the two best chances of a diesel Buick rest with the Encore and Verano.
In both our First Drive and Review of the 2013 Encore, our chief complaint about the compact crossover was the the lack of power from the 138-horsepower turbo engine. Edmunds says that the recently introduced 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine (with both gas and diesel variants) from the Encore's overseas cousin, the Opel Mokka, could make its way into the Encore delivering the much-needed boost in power.
Then there's the Verano. As a close relative to the Chevy Cruze, which just added a diesel engine for 2014, the article speculates that a Verano Diesel might actually be the more "probably candidate" if and when Buick decides to add a diesel model to its portfolio. Either way, offering such an engine in one of its products could be a great way for Buick to differentiate itself from Cadillac and possibly even attract buyers from Volkswagen, Audi and Mercedes-Benz looking for a luxurious, fuel-efficient vehicle.
