1971 Buick Gs Clone Skylark 455 Project on 2040-cars
Partridge, Kentucky, United States
hi up for bid i have a 1971 buick skylark 2dr hardtop, this car has a grand sport hood and air cleaner as well as gs emblems on front fenders. let me state first of all THIS IS NOT A FACTORY GRAND SPORT ! however it has some of the hard parts to get for a grand sport and would make a grand sport clone and was set up to look like one years ago. this car has a 455 engine out of a 74-75 electra 225 that runs good and is believed to be relativly low miles. trans is also out of electra and is a turbo 400. trans needs modulator vavle this one burst recently and started pulling fluid up in the engine , made a great gnat smoke! the owner of this car has held on to it for years, but is selling it due to ill health. car has no title but will give a notarized bill of sale. car has the sport steering wheel and dash and interior are very decent for age of car. has tear in front seat and general age related wear ,but even carpet is intact. floor s feel very solid . all glass is good although both front and rear glass leak as do most gm a body cars. had duct tape placed around them years ago to slow leak.. car has power steering power brakes and ac although compressor is off car he has it.. car has 2 buick sport wheels on car and has the other 2 also tires are rollers.car will yard drive and can be driven on trailer, i would go thru brakes etc before driving on road.no battery. now the bad stuff . the frame and rockers are very solid as well as the floors. both front fenders have rust at the bottoms, both doors have rust and the passenger side has a bad dent, he has a spare for it but it does have some rust alsothe left quarter has had a side swipe and some idiot has punched a thousand dent puller holes in it.rust on both quarters to the point i think theyll need replaced. deck lid is off another car and looks good. dent in rear bumper. the previous owner has painted bumpers black for some reason..trunk floor has rust thru ,proably need replaced , ive seen worse and its primarily on the left side. from leakingno doubt . this car has gas tank intact and car runs off it to give you an ideal about trunk rust. top is good may have some holes around rear glass, i cant tell due to duct tape rear window trim is in trunk. exhaust needs replaced as would be expected although i think car has duals that were needing some work to adapt to the 455 engine, might still be usable. car has ten bolt rear end. it has 4 wheel drums brakes. car is relatively intact and running which is more than most car projects of its age. WE ARENOT INTERESTED IN PARTING IT OUT! i assure you that you can buy the whole car cheaper than the hood and air cleaner. reserve is very resonable . as always no warranty what so ever. you are invited to come look hear it run and drive around yard. if you are the winning bidder you have bought car and we expect full payment with in 5 days . we will sell to any one but if you have low or bad feedback better call us first. if you are foriegn buyer car stays with us till all payment is cleared, that goes for any one. shipping is up to you . deposit per paypal , cashon pickup is prefered payment but full payment plus ebay fees if using all paypal. is ok too. we will anwser all questions best we can , owners cell is six o six 560 06two four. he might make a buy it now but youll need to call about that. thanks for looking! ps i forgot to look at mileage, ebays formulary forced me to put a number,

1969 Chevrolet Chevelle vs 1987 Buick GNX in Generation Gap showdown
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Generation Gap generally tries to adhere to a theme for each episode, and for the final video from the Lingenfelter collection, the series might have its best idea yet - limited-production muscle cars from General Motors.
On one side you get a 1969 Chevrolet Chevelle COPO, and it's an absolute sleeper. Other than the SS wheels, this classic coupe looks practically bone stock, at least until the engine fires up. Under the hood is a 427-cubic-inch (7.0-liter) V8 making a claimed 425 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This was the sole year for the COPO package on the Chevelle, and Chevy only made about 323 of them.
The Chevelle's challenger is almost as rare and arguably just as cool. The 1987 Buick Grand National GNX looks just as mean today as when new. It eschews a traditional muscular V8 in favor of a 3.8-liter turbo V6 making a claimed 276 hp and 360 lb-ft, although that number is supposedly a bit underrated. Also, just 547 examples of the GNX version were ever built making it quite a collector's item too.

Wed, Jan 13 2016The Lexus LC 500 captured top honors for the best-designed production car and the best interior at the 10th annual EyesOn Design awards at the Detroit Auto Show. The awards are handed out by the Detroit Institute of Ophthalmology. The Buick Avista won the concept car category, just as its four-door predecessor, the Avenir, did last year. Other winners this year included the Chrysler Pacifica, which won for the best-designed production "truck" (as crossovers and minivans are sometimes categorized), and the Audi H-Tron Quattro, which won for the best concept truck. The Acura Precision concept was also recognized for its "innovative use of color, graphics, and materials." And the new Volvo S90 was singled out for its human-machine interface. The panel of jurists this year included designers from an array of automakers and art schools. Several past honorees for the organization's LifeTime Design Achievement Award participated in the voting, including GM's Wayne Cherry, BMW DesignworksUSA founder Chuck Pelly, Hyundai's Peter Schreyer, and Jack Telnack (formerly of Ford). Telnack also served on the select panel of chief judges this year, alongside Chris Chapman from Hyundai, Dave Marek from Acura, and Stewart Reed from the Art Center College of Design. GM raises 2023 guidance on strong sales, higher profits
Tue, Apr 25 2023General Motors beat first-quarter profit estimates and raised its full-year earnings and cash-flow guidance after vehicle demand at the start of the year surpassed expectations. Its shares rose in premarket trading. GM made $2.21 a share in adjusted profit in the first quarter, compared to a consensus forecast of $1.72 a share. Revenue rose 11% to $39.99 billion, it said Tuesday, which was more than the $39.24 billion analysts expected. The stronger results stem from rising sales in the US, even in the face of higher interest rates and inflation. GM executives said demand was strong enough to revise 2023 guidance upward, boosting profit estimates for the year by $500 million to between $11 billion and $13 billion. “We did it with strong production and inventory discipline and consistent pricing,” GM Chief Financial Officer Paul Jacobson said on a call with journalists. “All in all, weÂ’re feeling confident about 2023.” The Detroit automaker raised per-share full-year guidance to between $6.35 and $7.35, up from $6 to $7 a share, and said free cash flow would also increase by $500 million to a range of $5.5 billion to $7.5 billion. GMÂ’s shares pared a gain of as much as 4.4% before the start of regular trading Tuesday, rising 3.5% to $35.50 as of 6:55 a.m. in New York. The stock was up 1.9% for the year as of the close on Monday. North American Strength The automakerÂ’s sales were particularly strong in North America, where first-quarter earnings rose before interest and taxes rose to $3.6 billion. Vehicle sales rose 18% to 707,000 in the region. Jacobson said the company originally expected to sell 15 million vehicles in the US this year, slightly less than the 15.5 million annualized rate automakers foresaw in the first quarter. North American demand was enough to offset a weak performance in China, GMÂ’s second-largest market. The automaker continues to struggle in the country, where its vehicle sales fell 25% to 462,000 vehicles in the quarter. Profits from its joint ventures in the market slumped 65% to $83 million. The market has struggled overall in the wake of Covid-19 restrictions and foreign automakers have had to overcome a growing preference for Chinese brands by competing on price, squeezing profit margins. The situation in China probably wonÂ’t significantly improve until the second half of the year, according to Jacobson. GM remains on target to sell 150,000 electric vehicles this year, the CFO said.
