1970 Buick Skylark(custom) on 2040-cars
Aransas Pass, Texas, United States
I have a 1970 buick skylark custom for sale, original ac,power steering, power brakes. It has a very clean body with NO rust on the outer body panels!Just surface rust from being in primer for awhile. There is minor rust in the trunk floor and pass floor board. You can still see the original paint thru the primer. The front bumper had been hit at some point and has minor damage to the front pass fender and grill.I have a good fender I will sell to purchaser if wanted after auction.Front bumper is fixable.Bothe the front and rear bumpers would need rechroming.I was just going to paint them.It had a vinyl top that was removed because it had deteriorated. When I bought the car in 2008 it had no motor,so I had a 5.7 motor out of a 81 vette rebuilt and installed. It problebly has maybe 200 miles on it.It ran and drove great,I even had new duels and flowmasters installed.Well long story short, lost interest and have to much going on in life. The car has not been on the road since 2010.It runs and shifts into gears great.Idles a little ruff do to old gas.Mechanically good,I would bleed the brakes and maybe drain the old gas out of the tank. There is a small spot on the firewall that will need a patch panel behind the distributer. The alt needs different brackets and I do have a power steering pump that is not installed that will go with the car.The tires were bought new when I put the new motor in.Like I said might have a few hundred miles on them. Not dryrotted. The car has sat in a garage since I have owned it! The interior will need some help.Door panels are ruff,no head liner, front seat is white, looks like it came out of a cutlass. The previous owners messed up the metal behind the rear seat were the speakers go.For what reason I don't know.I do have a few extra parts that are included with the car like the front windshield trim, another grill(still has a little damage)and piece for the firewall(ac cover). Not much to do to get it on the road.Would make a nice GS clone! Please ask any questions that you have and I will do my best to answer it.I tried to list everything about car that I know of as honestly as possible.I do reserve the right to remove at any time due to being listed locally.Sold as is.Reserve is low so bid to win!Anyone with a e-bay score of 10 or less needs to contact me before bidding.Or your bid will be cancelled! Buyer will have to pay for shipping! Will assist in loading for transport.Car will need to be picked up within 7 days unless other arrangements are made with me.Thanks for your interst.

GM admits goal of 500,000 EVs by 2017 won't be met
Sat, May 9 2015After a little over four years of Chevy Volt sales, General Motors has a better handle on how many people it expects will buy cars with plugs. And it's less than the company thought back in 2012, when then-senior vice president of global product development, Mary Barra, said that GM expected to sell 500,000 "vehicles with electrification" by 2017. In a sustainability report released this week, GM says that half-million vehicle target will not be met but that it still, "believes the future is electric." In the report, GM says that, "For our commitment to electrification, our forecasted outlook currently projects us, along with the broader automotive industry, falling short of expectations for 2017. ... We continue to aspire to our stated goal." GM's electric lineup includes the Volt, the recently popular Spark EV, the slow-selling Cadillac ELR and upcoming Malibu Hybrid, CT6 plug-in hybrid and eAssist technology in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. GM says it has 180,834 electrified vehicles on the road in the US today. In 2013, it had 153,034; 95,578 in 2012, and 39,843 in 2011. The company's next big plug-in vehicle will be the second-gen Chevy Volt, which is coming to market later this year, followed by the 200-mile Bolt EV coming, we think, in 2017. GM Employees on Mission to Transform Transportation Sustainability report outlines vehicle and manufacturing progress; sets new targets 2015-05-07 DETROIT – General Motors' just-released sustainability report chronicles efforts by the company's 216,000 employees to live out GM's newly defined purpose and values by earning customer loyalty, applying meaningful technology advances and improving the communities where it does business. These actions – led by CEO Mary Barra – further drive sustainability into the company's culture through building safer and smarter vehicles with less environmental impact. "GM will take a leading role in the auto industry's transformation as it undergoes an unprecedented period of change," said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president, GM Global Public Policy. "From GM's labs to its assembly lines, our people are driving the world to a better place through improved mobility." The company believes the future is electric, with billions of investment to support an all-in-house approach to the development and manufacturing of electrified vehicles. It now counts 180,834 on the road in the U.S – up from 153,034 in 2013.
Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
2018 Buick Enclave First Drive Review | Fortress of quietude
Fri, Oct 6 2017ATLANTA, Ga. — The 2018 Enclave is part of Buick's effort to reinvigorate its brand, positioning itself as a maker of "attainable luxury" vehicles. That means a total redesign, a number of safety and technology upgrades, and the introduction of the Avenir sub-brand (think of that last one as sort of the Denali of Buick). It also means more space and more luxury. With this in mind, we traveled to Atlanta to get to know the new Enclave, both in the city and on a long drive through the Blue Ridge Mountains into North Carolina. Our first impressions of the new Enclave came not from the driver's seat, but from a captain's chair in the second row (which is the traditional seating arrangement for a true captain, of course). We were riding from the Atlanta airport to a studio to learn more about the vehicle. That very first impression was, "Wow, this interior is really nice." The leather upon which we sat was soft, smooth to the touch, and interesting in its shapeliness. Looking around the cabin, we saw a lot of gentle curves and thoughtful accents that made the inside of the Enclave feel downright premium. It was a fresh and airy sense of taste though, and definitely not the seasoned wood-and-whiskey stodginess one might expect from the Buick name. Our second impression: "Boy, it's quiet in here." Heading toward downtown Atlanta on the freeway, we were unable to pick up wind noise, and only just a smidge of road noise as the Enclave trundled over the occasional rough patch of pavement. This is, of course, completely intentional on the part of Buick. The windshield and front windows use acoustic glass. The doors are triple sealed for a tighter, quieter fit when closed. Buick has insulated the Enclave with more sound deadening and included active noise cancellation. "Our goal is to make it as social as possible," said Dean Perelli, chief engineer for the Enclave. And social it is. It is easy to carry on conversation across the Enclave's three roomy rows. When we got out of the Enclave, we had a chance to take it in from the outside. It features attractive, wing-like lighting front and rear. The front signature lighting uses technology called "Evonik Acrylite," (a mouthful, even for the engineers) which is a polycarbonate material arranged in a dazzling, faceted and delicate array. The paint finishes we saw were attractive, with depth.
