1970  Buick  GS455  --- factory 4 speed with air conditioning --- 510 of these were built in 1970 and of those , I don't know how many were factory air cars ????? maybe you do ?

I've got the build sheet that I found under the gas tank , it is in awesome condition !!

Engine - don't believe it to be original-- rebuilt with 0 miles on it - Stage I valves, Hemi Killer Camshaft , oiling modifications, stock original pistons --- I also have another 1970 455 motor that is a factory GS motor and has the correct block stamping and heads stamping (the pistons and crank are still in the block) I do have the ram air snorkel air cleaner and it is in great shape (refurbished) I've got a set of used, chrome headers that go with the car too. I also have the stock exhaust manifolds that have been cleaned up and painted and look very nice. There is an aluminum intake manifold and a 750 cfm Edelbrock carb on top of the motor. Also a pair of really cool , finned aluminum valve covers from Edelbrock !!

Transmission - Muncie 4 speed - unknown if original to car or not...have a Hurst shifter also ...I
have no history on the transmission other then a mounting ear had to be welded
back on (they did a great job)...the build sheet says this car came with a M20
Rearend - factory 10 bolt with 3:42 gear ratio non-posi

Interior - Bucket seats and rear seat have been reupholstered with original material and color ( The                      bucket seats had to be completely rebuilt) -- I have new door panels and                                                rear panels also --- there is no headliner or carpet --- there is no package                                                tray --- dash is black and has a few cracks on the sides --- steering wheel is                                              just a stock Skylark one I believe ---

Exterior - This car has never seen salt !!  There is a little rust on the right rear quarter at the very bottom and towards the back of the fender well .....(I've got another quarter that we cut off of another 70 Skylark body) ....Both doors are original to the car but the drivers door has a good size dent in it (I've got another door for it) ... passenger side fender is most likely original to the car but the drivers is off another 70 GS car with no rust .... passenger front fender has had some work done to it at the bottom... floors and trunk pan are in good shape ... frame is excellent ... hood is in pretty good shape ... decklid is from another car ... roof is in good shape also .... rear bumper and name plate are in great shape..no pitting on the name tag !!! front bumper will need to be rechromed for sure ....grille is in good shape ... I've got a set of tail lights that are in good shape ....

Suspension is apart right now but I just had new ball joints and control arm bushings put on the A-arms....I also have new tie rod ends , centerlink and idler arm ... I will have the front together before the car goes ...it will be a roller only !! Motor and trans are just laying in the car for now and will need to be removed before install...since there is no clutch , flywheel or anything like that installed right now ....

ok , I'm sure I've missed things in this profile of the car but I'm leaving my phone number for the serious buyers out there ..........feel free to call me at 719-217-8224 .......... The title is a clean Colorado title in my name ........  ...... this is a project car !!!!

Opel Cascada close to getting green light for US

Fri, 13 Sep 2013

For a company with a long tradition of grand touring convertibles, it's almost unseemly that General Motors doesn't offer a properly relaxed four-seat convertible in North America. There's the Chevrolet Camaro, of course, but it's not big on rear-seat space and it doesn't offer that sort of serene demeanor that many open-air buyers crave. We're thinking of something more refined and, dare we say, elegant. Something a bit closer to the Opel Cascada.
The General's front-wheel drive convertible went on sale in Europe this year, and while it seemed like a natural fit for its Buick brand in America, it's never been sold here. That may be about to change, however. Back in June, CEO Dan Akerson hinted he'd like to see the Cascada available in the US, and now there's word from Edmunds that importation "could happen soon." That's according to an unnamed insider at the company.

Best and Worst GM Cars

Thu, Apr 7 2022

Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded.  While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

Sell-it-yourself: 1998 Buick Century Limited

Wed, May 10 2017

Looking to sell your car? We make it safe, easy, and free. Quickly create listings with up to six photos and reach millions of buyers. Log in and create your free listings. Well before Buick was tight with the Chinese, it was working to reconnect with middle class America. Of course, there's the middle class, and then there's the aspirational middle class. For them, near the end of the 20th Century, Buick offered the Buick Century and its better-zip-code derivative, the Century Limited. Having attended the Buick press launch about this time, the Century was – and is – what we'd call tidy in proportion and clean in its detailing. Its interior design and execution might have leaned toward old school, but the exterior surfaces were responsibly devoid of affectation. In short, almost twenty years ago we would have judged this to be sheetmetal that, if not defying age, would have certainly resisted aging. And we'll stand by that today. Our for sale example, nineteen years old and showing just over 111,000 miles, looks to deliver ample bang for the buck, especially when talking only 2,500 of those bucks. From the photos, this Buick seems to have come from a good home, even if the passenger rear door reflects what we used to call a whiskey ding, and is now - probably - a mojito ding. While kicking tires in West Palm Beach, note the custom wheels; they, too, are limited. Shop for the listing here. Buick Car Buying Used Car Buying Ownership Sedan
