1969 Buick Skylark 2 Dr 67,68,69,70,71 Runs & Drives , Factory A/c 1 Owner on 2040-cars
Bronx, New York, United States
Up for auction is my 1969 Buick Skylark. I bought this car from the original owner & it has 61735 miles on it with factory A/C in it that is all still there & hooked up. The a/c will need some freon. It has a Buick 8 cyl 350 engine in it with a 2 barrell carbureator. It has a black primer exterior & a black vinyl interior. I had started doing the minor bodywork on it & was getting it ready to paint for this summer but ran into some money complications. As you can see from some of the pics, we had a long & bad winter here & had lots of snow & the weight of the snow caved in the roofs on my garage & shed. Under that shed is a 1964 Impala Convertible & I have to get that out & ready for the summer & need the money to redo the roofs & fix the convertible so a few vehicles will have to go. It has power steering, power brakes, working factory air conditioning & 14 inch radial tires. It has an after market am/fm cassette radio. It had a factory power antenna but was broken by the kids long ago & never replaced. The rear floor carpet & seats look like new since hardly anyone ever sat in the back seat. The headliner is good except for one spot where the stiching is comming loose. It has a drivers side remote mirror, All glass is good & windows roll down properly. The horn & all lights work. The black vinyl top looks almost new except for the passenger side rear section where a piece is missing. There is some light rust on the pass side lower rear quarter panel & on both lower rear front fenders where they all rust at. The car was made in canada as stated on the cowl tag. As stated earlier it has a valve cover leak on it so the oil drops down onto the hot manifold & makes it smoke a little. I have the new valve cover gaskets but never got around to installing theem. There is also a slight leak in the power steering unit but i had bought a replacement power steering unit for it but also never installed it. As stated i bought the car from the original owner & had been after it for a while to fix up & let the wife use (since it has a/c) to use as a his & hers car since I have a 69 buick skylark convertible. She changed her mind (as women do) & decieded that she wanted to drive the 64 convertible burried in the shed instead. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time since I might still deciede to keep the hardtop to use when it gets too hot for the convertible. I have gotten many a burnt leg from the hot vinyl seats & cooked half of my brains when my cap blew off while i was driving down the highway with the top down, also she might change her mind back & want the a/c once it gets really hot . If i get a really good offer on it before she changes her mind back, the car is gone. I will listen to all offers. I have a clean NYS registration on the car. New York State does not use titles for vehicles prior to 1975 but uses transferable registrations instead. This is a great father & son project for someone who does not have a lot of money & time to spend fixing it up & could use it as a driver while they worked on it. The car does run & drive & was last on the road in 2013. I do have the rear bumper, mouldings & rear lights for it. . Please check back as I will soon be listing a 2002 Taurus with 79425 miles, 95 dodge van with 86600 miles, 2004 Taurus with 62452 miles, 2001 chevy cab & 1/2 silverado pick up, 1999 ford ranger cab & 1/2 pick up , 1965 chevy impala convertible, a 1962 Impala 4 door running project. a 2005 ford explorer & a 1964 Impala 4 door project.. Im not looking to get rich on the cars but just trying to get my money back to use the money for other things.
Selling as is, where is, with no warranties or guarantees. You are more than welcome to come by & bring your mechanic to look over the vehicles if you are in or near the Hunts Point section of the Bronx. I will not ship the vehicle but I will assist with loading on this end. Shipping is the sole responsibility of the winning bidder. There is a 100. deposit due within 24 hours after the end of the auction via paypal. no exceptions. I read the book " computers for dummies" & could not figure it out, but I was still able to set up a pay pal account & pay for items online, so if I can do it, you can do it. .
The balance of the funds are to be paid by money order or check after clearance by my bank or by cash at pick up. If you have less than 10 positive feedback , then contacted me first or I will cancel your bids , block you from all of my future auctions & notify ebay on you.
Now for the Scammers:::: I will not accept your or your clients check & give you back the balance. If you want to buy the yehicle for your client, then you buy it & sell it to them. I will not release the vehicle or the paperwork till the vehicle is paid in full. Im sorry if your truck happens to be in the area before the check clears. All checks including cashiers & certified checks must first clear my bank before the vehicle or the paperwork is released. Once you have paid for the vehicle in full, you can ship the vehicle to any county that you want since you the winning bidder are responsible for all shipping costs.
I will assist with loading onto the flatbed or tow truck on this end. |

GM admits goal of 500,000 EVs by 2017 won't be met
Sat, May 9 2015After a little over four years of Chevy Volt sales, General Motors has a better handle on how many people it expects will buy cars with plugs. And it's less than the company thought back in 2012, when then-senior vice president of global product development, Mary Barra, said that GM expected to sell 500,000 "vehicles with electrification" by 2017. In a sustainability report released this week, GM says that half-million vehicle target will not be met but that it still, "believes the future is electric." In the report, GM says that, "For our commitment to electrification, our forecasted outlook currently projects us, along with the broader automotive industry, falling short of expectations for 2017. ... We continue to aspire to our stated goal." GM's electric lineup includes the Volt, the recently popular Spark EV, the slow-selling Cadillac ELR and upcoming Malibu Hybrid, CT6 plug-in hybrid and eAssist technology in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. GM says it has 180,834 electrified vehicles on the road in the US today. In 2013, it had 153,034; 95,578 in 2012, and 39,843 in 2011. The company's next big plug-in vehicle will be the second-gen Chevy Volt, which is coming to market later this year, followed by the 200-mile Bolt EV coming, we think, in 2017. GM Employees on Mission to Transform Transportation Sustainability report outlines vehicle and manufacturing progress; sets new targets 2015-05-07 DETROIT – General Motors' just-released sustainability report chronicles efforts by the company's 216,000 employees to live out GM's newly defined purpose and values by earning customer loyalty, applying meaningful technology advances and improving the communities where it does business. These actions – led by CEO Mary Barra – further drive sustainability into the company's culture through building safer and smarter vehicles with less environmental impact. "GM will take a leading role in the auto industry's transformation as it undergoes an unprecedented period of change," said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president, GM Global Public Policy. "From GM's labs to its assembly lines, our people are driving the world to a better place through improved mobility." The company believes the future is electric, with billions of investment to support an all-in-house approach to the development and manufacturing of electrified vehicles. It now counts 180,834 on the road in the U.S – up from 153,034 in 2013.
Repo man pays off elderly couple's car just in time for Thanksgiving
Mon, Nov 28 2016Repo men get bad raps for a good reason; no one likes having their car taken away. At least one guy in the repossession game proved folks in his profession aren't all bad when he helped an elderly couple hold on to their wheels right before Thanksgiving. According to the Belleville News-Democrat, unexpected bills and the rising cost of prescription medications pushed Stanford and Patty Kipping's fixed income to the breaking point. Unable to keep up with the $95 dollar a month payment on their 1998 Buick, they fell into arrears and the bank sent a repo man out to their home in Red Bud, Illinois to reclaim the car. Jim Ford, co-owner of Illini Recovery Inc., hooked up the old Buick and dragged it away, but later that night his conscience caught up with him. "When I got home that night, I said to myself, 'They are a real nice elderly couple. I gotta do something. I can't just take their car,'" Ford told the News-Democrat. Ford did do something, something surprisingly humane. He set up a GoFundMe and, within just a few short hours, he raised more than $3,500 dollars. This was enough money to pay off the Kipping's loan with a little left over for some maintenance. Ford and a friend then hooked the car back up and towed it back to the Kipping's home. Ford presented the couple with their trusty Buick, and threw in a thousand dollars in an envelope and a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving. "It was a miracle come true," Patty told the paper. "We didn't know what we were going to do." "I got up this morning and I looked up at the sun and I said, 'I hope we get our car back,'" added Stanford. "It's just unbelievable."Related Video: News Source: Belleville News-Democrat Auto News Weird Car News Buick repossession repo man
Opel Insignia OPC getting facelift. Will the Buick Regal GS see it, too?
Tue, 07 Aug 2012We've seen spy shots of the base Opel Insignia wearing facelifted front and rear ends, and now it appears that the more potent OPC version will be benefitting from a nip/tuck, as well.
The front bumper has been redesigned, incorporating new air intakes - toned-down versions of the model's signature fangs - as well as a new grille. Out back, there will be minimal changes to the overall fascia, most likely stuff like slightly redesigned taillamps, and inside, these spy shots show a larger navigation/infotainment screen sitting atop the center console.
This is all well and good for the Insignia, but we're wondering how these changes will impact North America's Buick Regal GS. No, it may not share the same powertrain punch as the Euro-spec OPC, but visually, the cars are nearly identical. When questioned about possible changes for the GS, a Buick spokesperson told us that the automaker "can't comment" on any changes at this point. Even so, we wouldn't be surprised if some small changes come our way in the next year or so.
