1968 Buick Skylark Convertible 54k Miles Delivery Available on 2040-cars
Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, United States
1968 Buick Skylark convertible with only 54k miles. I was on the way to a full restoration but have to let it go unfinished. I will start to say that everything mechanical was restored and this car runs and drives like new engine is whisper quiet and smooth. Transmission was rebuilt, engine had gaskets and seals and full paint restoration at that time and no leaks anywhere everything was done from belts hoses etc. needs nothing! Brakes are all new as well exhaust system. Shocks and tires are new and battery too. The seats have been restored professional and look like factory new, rest of interior parts are great. I have a complete new carpet kit, all door seals and window seals included. All the exterior stainless trim is present and in excellent shape with many spares included that were collected through the years to make an excellent set. I had found a better rear bumper and had it re chromed which is also included and seen in pics, front bumper is great. I don't have the fender skirts but do have the stainless rear wheel well trim instead, the body still has the tabs for skirts. The top is fairly new and in perfect shape and goes up and down with the dash button perfectly. The boot cover is good but could use some of the plastic attaching clips. Original spare tire and jack in trunk. The floors and trunk are 100% solid with no rust through just surface rust, scuff and paint. The whole underside, frame and body was cleaned, painted with epoxy paint. Door jams, trunk and under hood yellow areas are already painted. The only thing left to do is the outside body work. The rear quarter panels will need the most work, front fenders and doors real good shape, again the outer body is the only thing left to do and then you will have an outstanding classic. I have someone that can assist in delivery if needed. I am located 45 minutes west of Milwaukee. You can call me with any questions if you would like. Paul @ 262-470-0604
On Jun-13-14 at 06:49:55 PDT, seller added the following information: I had a question from someone about what trim is there. the dual trim strips are there that run down the center of the trunk, the strip is there that runs down the center of the hood and on the backside of hood. all the trim is there that runs down the curved body lines on the side of car. and all the trim around headlamps and upper door and window edges. everything is included I guess a lot of the 68's are missing that side curved body trim which I think really makes the look of the car. |

GM admits goal of 500,000 EVs by 2017 won't be met
Sat, May 9 2015After a little over four years of Chevy Volt sales, General Motors has a better handle on how many people it expects will buy cars with plugs. And it's less than the company thought back in 2012, when then-senior vice president of global product development, Mary Barra, said that GM expected to sell 500,000 "vehicles with electrification" by 2017. In a sustainability report released this week, GM says that half-million vehicle target will not be met but that it still, "believes the future is electric." In the report, GM says that, "For our commitment to electrification, our forecasted outlook currently projects us, along with the broader automotive industry, falling short of expectations for 2017. ... We continue to aspire to our stated goal." GM's electric lineup includes the Volt, the recently popular Spark EV, the slow-selling Cadillac ELR and upcoming Malibu Hybrid, CT6 plug-in hybrid and eAssist technology in the Buick LaCrosse and Regal. GM says it has 180,834 electrified vehicles on the road in the US today. In 2013, it had 153,034; 95,578 in 2012, and 39,843 in 2011. The company's next big plug-in vehicle will be the second-gen Chevy Volt, which is coming to market later this year, followed by the 200-mile Bolt EV coming, we think, in 2017. GM Employees on Mission to Transform Transportation Sustainability report outlines vehicle and manufacturing progress; sets new targets 2015-05-07 DETROIT – General Motors' just-released sustainability report chronicles efforts by the company's 216,000 employees to live out GM's newly defined purpose and values by earning customer loyalty, applying meaningful technology advances and improving the communities where it does business. These actions – led by CEO Mary Barra – further drive sustainability into the company's culture through building safer and smarter vehicles with less environmental impact. "GM will take a leading role in the auto industry's transformation as it undergoes an unprecedented period of change," said Bob Ferguson, senior vice president, GM Global Public Policy. "From GM's labs to its assembly lines, our people are driving the world to a better place through improved mobility." The company believes the future is electric, with billions of investment to support an all-in-house approach to the development and manufacturing of electrified vehicles. It now counts 180,834 on the road in the U.S – up from 153,034 in 2013.
Next-gen LaCrosse, Cascada convertible coming to Buick showrooms in 2016
Wed, 23 Jul 2014It's difficult to overstate how significant the post-bankruptcy years have been for General Motors' Buick brand. Arguably the most improved American automaker, Buick has rounded out its range with an excellent compact in the Verano, a well-balanced midsizer in the Regal and a segment-busting mini-CUV, with the Encore.
Seeking to keep that momentum going, the next several years will see the brand address a trio of its most obvious issues. First and foremost will be a replacement for the aging LaCrosse, a vehicle whose only bit of attention since its 2009 debut was a very light refresh in 2013.
According to Automotive News, we should expect the next-generation LaCrosse to arrive late next year or early in 2016, as a 2016 model. AN expects big design changes, as Buick attempts to further the LaCrosse from its popular platform-mate, the Chevrolet Impala. The changes won't be so radical, though, as to do away with its front-drive architecture, as the latest version of the Epsilon platform will underpin the next LaCrosse. The 3.6-liter V6 is likely to carry on, although a smaller, budget-minded offering is also extremely likely (we'll eat our hat if it's not the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the Regal, Verano and Cadillac CTS et al.).
2013 Buick Verano Turbo
Thu, 03 Jan 2013Not Luxury. Not Sport. Not Buick. Not Bad.
Those of you who still think of the Buick Verano as some sort of callously badge-engineered, gussied up version of the Chevrolet Cruze ("Why would anyone spend that much money on Buick's Cruze?" you may have been heard to mutter) have got the wrong idea. Entirely. Even in its most modest form, the Verano turns out to be a sedan that is feature-rich, insulated from wind and road noise in proper luxury car fashion, pretty good to drive and not bad to look at in the new school of high-nosed pedestrian-impact-regulated fashion. In a less modest form then, one that attaches the word "Turbo" to the moniker and plops a force-fed 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the Verano is downright interesting.
Of course, "interesting" is rarely a descriptor that fills one with lust - and so it goes with this example. There are two competing forces within this near-premium subcompact sedan, and the balance struck between them must resonate with any potential customer before the Verano Turbo can become a serious purchase consideration.
