1967 Buick Skylark Convertible (455ci 7.5l) on 2040-cars
United States
Up for sale is my 1967 Buick Skylark Convertible. I have enjoyed her for a while and now its time to sell her off and put the money toward a new house.
The car was frame off restored around 4 years ago and is still in damn good condition. Every single thing on this car was completed and NO shortcuts were taken. Every single thing on this car operates as it should. The Mileage on the dash is showing 29480, I can not validate. However, the Mileage on the car that I pulled the Big Block out of showed 31204, which is accurate as I validated with the son of the original owner. Body & Frame: All the frame and undercoating is still in great condition with NO rust, chips, or peels. Paint is an awesome 9 of 10 with one 1/4 inch paint nick on the tip of the hood and is visible within 1 foot (thanks to my son closing the garage door on me!). Chrome is 9 of 10 with NO rust and very mild pitting (bottom side of bumpers). Stainless trim is an 8 of 10 with some very light scratches visible within 5 feet. Front grill and trunk panel were stripped and painted flat black, mild wear and pitting is visible within 5 feet. Mechanics: The original 340 Wildcat motor was removed this summer and was replaced with a fully re-built 1972 Buick 455 (7.5L) (Comp Cams, etc…) Big Block. I have a little over 300 miles on the motor and can tell you it is CHERRY! Starts on first pull and runs perfectly. I still have break in oil and have yet to try her our…….If i hit 500 miles before she is sold I will have it re-serviced and gone through. At the same time I had the turbo 350 pulled and gone through, she is perfect and handles the torque with ease. All front end bushings were replaced this summer and Hotchkis Big Block springs (1 inch drop) were thrown in. She gets the hot air out the back end with a 2.5 inch full stainless exhaust with Super 40s. Big Block sound all the way! I had the power drum brakes fully serviced this past March and just can't see pulling them yet. They are working great and I have yet to have an issue.them rebuilt back in March and just couldn't see pulling them and putting them in a box yet. I do have a front end disk conversion kit sitting in the garage waiting for a rainy day….In Northern Cali those days don't come often!!! All the gauges are working to include all original lighting. Power top is hydraulic and still runs without a hitch. Interior: All interior was custom installed before i got her. I am not sure what the material is but it is not hard and cheap….very nice and classy feel. There is some light wear to the drivers seat but they are still fitted well, very clean and hella soft. NO rips, nicks, or shabby seams! Dash was polished down to stainless (originally black). Custom radio installed in the glove box and original radio in the dash (INOP). There are a few little trim pieces that are ready to get refinished or replaced, but all in all I would give the interior a modest 8 of 10. NOTE: I am retired and may be able to assist with transporting (in my enclosed trailer) as long as the car is payed for before i leave my house and the buyer pays my fuel. |

Nissan Sentra, Buick LaCrosse to headline LA Auto Show
Wed, Oct 21 2015We're less than a month away from the start of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and automakers have been lining up their debuts for the upcoming left-coast expo. The latest announcement comes from the show's organizers who are eager to tout the global debuts slated for next month. Chief among them will be new versions of the Buick LaCrosse and Nissan Sentra. So far all we've seen of the 2017 LaCrosse is a glimpse at the front grille, but it's already promising to bring elements of the Avenir concept to the street. The original LaCrosse was launched in 2004 and was replaced in 2010 with the current model. The Sentra nameplate has been around much longer, but the current model was launched more recently in 2013. The new version spied recently while undergoing testing is promised to be a substantial update on that model, not a complete replacement, bringing it up to speed with the latest equipment and revised styling. This represents the first official confirmation we've received of when Nissan will be unveiling the new Sentra. Mitsubishi will also be on hand with its new Outlander Sport, as well as the redesigned Mirage. They'll be joined as well by new versions of a couple of high-end models that promise to resonate with the local crowds in tinseltown. Land Rover has chosen the LA show as a suitable venue to unveil the production Range Rover Evoque Convertible that will drop the top on one of the most stylish luxury crossovers on the market. And Porsche, as we know, is gearing up to hit the track with the new Cayman GT4 Clubsport - a customer racing version of the company's little two-seat, mid-engined sports car that's been lightly modified for motorsport competition. Of course these won't be the only new metal on display at the Californian auto expo. They'll be joined as well by the likes of the new Infiniti QX30, Hyundai Elantra, Kia Sportage, and Jaguar F-Pace - many of which we've already seen. Meanwhile companies like Fiat, Ford, Mazda, Mercedes, Subaru, Volvo, Volkswagen, and Elio Motors are keeping their plans under wraps for the time being. But with mere weeks to go, it won't be long before we see what they've got in store as well.
2018 Buick Enclave spied looking slim in Death Valley
Thu, Sep 8 2016The nine-year-old Buick Enclave is well past its prime, but this set of spy photos reveals that GM won't put the vehicle out of its misery, but will give the vehicle a large update instead. Our photographers managed to catch Buick testing a heavily-camouflaged 2018 Enclave testing below sea level near Death Valley. Buick was testing the prototype in Nevada earlier this year, but slapped a trailer onto the back of the SUV. Thanks to the camouflage that covers the badging, headlights, taillights, and hood, there's no way to confirm if the prototype is really a Buick or something from Chevrolet. But the circular outline on the grille has us leaning towards it being a Buick. Five LED running lights shine through the heavy camouflage, while Buick's iconic waterfall grille is prominently uncovered. The Enclave, which came out in 2008, shares the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. With the new Acadia slimming down and ditching the old Lambda platform in favor of the Chi platform, the Enclave will surely follow suit. The Enclave, though, is expected to get a stretched version of the Chi platform with three rows. While the entire body is concealed, the prototype's side profile looks to be slimmer than the current Enclave. With the addition of the new, lighter platform, the Enclave is expected to get GM's new 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission added later down the road. The new Enclave is expected to make its debut early next year as a 2018 model, which will be followed by the reveal of the Traverse shortly after. GM cutting production at two plants
Thu, Feb 26 2015General Motors is continuing to adjust to excess supply of some of its brands' models. To get production more in line with the vehicles' actual demand, the automotive giant is idling two of its factories in North America in the coming months. The Orion Assembly plant is going to be down from March 9-13, according to an anonymous plant worker and another insider speaking to Automotive News. The factory builds the Chevrolet Sonic and Buick Verano, but there are plenty of both models sitting on dealer lots, including 216 days worth of Sonics, according to AN. The factory already had two idle periods announced to reduce the excess. In addition, downtime is scheduled at GM's "Flex" line at the Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, plant from April 13-17. This affects supply of the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala, Buick Regal and Cadillac XTS. Among them, the automotive giant has the largest supply of Regals ready for dealers with 213 days worth of them, according to AN. The future for the whole Oshawa factory is cloudy in general, though. There are rumors that it could close entirely in the future because the Camaro is leaving and the Regal and XTS might not last much longer than 2017. The Canadian government and the labor union there intend to put up a fight, though.
