1967 Buick Skylark Convertible 455 V8 P/b P/s 400 Turbo Trans Gs Tribute on 2040-cars

Year:1967 Mileage:100000

I am selling my friends 1967 Buick Skylark convertible. This is a regular convertible that has been given a GS treatment in the late 90's early 2000's.

Here is what my friend says about the car;

1967 Buick Skylark Convertible
Pros:

455 (it’s fast)
New Edelbrock carburetor
Front disc brakes
Front & rear sway bars
New high efficiency radiator
New fuel pump
New starter motor
Premium dual exhaust
Bucket seats
Floor shift
Runs well
Clean DMV

Cons:

straight body with relativly small paint damage
convertible does not work (motors missing)…tear in the top near rear window (outside tear only)
exhaust manifold gaskets leaking
maybe needs new master cylinder…(brakes take a few mins to respond well after car warms up, but after that, just fine)
gas gauge does not work
window cranks and door handles are temperamental

Now my take on the car;

I have been a passenger in the car many times and have driven it a few times. It seems to have all the GO you would need. The car runs well and gets looks where ever you take it. No shortage of people that want to go for a ride in it.

My take on the fit and finish of the car.

It was painted and refreshed in the late 90's early 2000's and turned into it's current form. It was given a rebuilt 455, paint and interior. The bucket seats were sourced from a GS and all were recovered. The car was only driven for about 8 months then put into a garage for the winter and was not brought out the next year. I went and helped my friend pick up the car from his dad's house in 2012. We put a battery and some fresh fuel in it and it fired up and I drove it onto my trailer. Since then it has had the new parts replaced you see above.

The paint is about a 7. It is presentable, but there are flaws. Probably the biggest is on the hood where there was a carburetor fire at one time(that is why there is a new carb! and fuel lines), but 95% of people that look at the car would not notice it. The body is solid and rust free. There are small dents and dings, but again, a very presentable 10 footer. The car spent about a week at an auto electric shop getting the wiring sorted out, but somehow the fuel gauge still does not work. I do know that the sending unit was replaced as well. Still no bueno on the fuel gauge. The interior could use a good cleaning. The white seats easily show dirt and they need to be vigorously cleaned. The chrome on the car is fair. Both the front and rear bumpers have pitting in spots and will need to be re-plated at some point in the future. The stainless trim is in excellent condition. The tires have like new tread on them. They are older, but the car has always been in a garage so there is no cracking on the sidewalls. The convertible top is also white and in need of a good cleaning. There is one small tear/rip that I don't think will be much of a problem in inclement weather as it is only the outer layer and is not very big. Most of the time you will have the top down anyway! There is also a top boot cover that is white. Again, this will need to be cleaned as it is not as white as it could be.

I am not an expert on these cars, but I think that they did what was needed to make this a nice 455 GS tribute.

If you have any questions please email me through eBay.

Delivery to the Bay Area and Southern California shippers is available.

Also, you will be paying the owner directly. I am just listing this for him. The good faith deposit will be returned when payment for the car is made.

The body tag has the following; GENERAL MOTORS CORPORATION / 10A / ST 67-44467FL1 39253 BODY / TR 185-A K-2 PAINT / W 2X / 4FC 5KY (COULD BE SKY) / BODY BY FISHER From what I found; ST Style is 2 door convertible Body was built in Flint MI. Buick Enclave gets continental makeover with Tuscan trim

Fri, Mar 27 2015

Buick is trying to lend an air of Italian elegance to the Enclave with its newly announced Tuscan Edition that's available on the crossover for the 2016 model year. Named after the famously hilly and fertile region of Italy, the package brings some bronze accents to the CUV. As the very specific trademark filing for the Tuscan suggests, the special edition adds bronze trim to the uprights in the grille, and the metallic color finds its way into the embellishments on the 20-inch chrome wheels, too. Buyers also get to choose from three shades when ordering the package: White Frost Tricoat, Dark Chocolate Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic. Beyond those trim upgrades, the Tuscan Edition is just like any other Enclave. The package can only be ordered on the Leather and Premium trims, and all of their features are still available including a power moonroof, park assist, HID headlights and many luxury features inside. As with the rest of the range, power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque that routes through a six-speed automatic. There's also a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. The Italian-inspired CUV makes its debut at the New York Auto Show in just a few days and brings its bronzer to dealers this summer. Buick Introduces 2016 Enclave Tuscan Edition Bronze accents distinguish crossover that ignited brand's renaissance 2015-03-26 DETROIT – Buick today introduced the 2016 Enclave Tuscan Edition – a more distinctive expression of the popular crossover, highlighted by a bronze-tone grille and 20-inch chrome-clad wheels with bronze accents. The Enclave sparked Buick's renaissance eight years ago and continues to fuel its momentum, with 2015 sales building on record sales of 62,300 in 2014. "Buick's quality, refinement and style continues to attract more customers and this modern resurgence started with Enclave," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. "It was a pioneer for three-row luxury crossovers and remains one of the segment's most popular. The new Tuscan Edition celebrates Enclave's achievement and rewards owners with a higher level of distinction." The 2016 Buick Enclave Tuscan will be on display at the New York International Auto Show and goes on sale this summer on the Leather (1SL) and Premium (1SN) trims. It is offered in three premium exterior colors: White Frost Tricoat, Dark Chocolate Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic.

Neil Young to auction model train collection, classic cars

Thu, Nov 2 2017

LOS ANGELES — Rock singer Neil Young is selling some of his most prized possessions — part of his model train and classic car collections. The Canadian folk-rock star is putting more than 230 of his vast collection of Lionel trains and some of his cars up for auction in Los Angeles in December. Some of the trains have estimated selling prices of up to $9,000, Julien's Auctions said on Thursday. Young, 71, known for his Woodstock-era songs as well as "Ohio," "Heart of Gold" and many, many others, has been a passionate model train enthusiast for more than 20 years. His collection and vast layouts at his California ranch took off in the early 1990s as a means of connecting with his son Ben, who has cerebral palsy, Young said. Young is also selling some of his classic car collection. They include: A first-in-production 1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark convertible 50th anniversary special edition, with a steering wheel hub saying "customized for Neil Young," that has a pre-auction estimate of $200,000 to $300,000. A 1954 Cadillac Fleetwood Imperial eight-passenger limousine (estimate $30,000-$40,000) with the Cadillac crest styled "Broken Arrow" emblem on the rear passenger door, referring to both the Buffalo Springfield song and his ranch of the same name in Portola Valley, Calif. A 1948 Buick Roadmaster Hearse built by Flxible (estimate: $8,000-$10,000) used by Young and his band, The Squires, to haul equipment to gigs in the early 1960's. Dubbed "Mortimer," it's decorated with backstage passes and bumper stickers, and it inspired Young's song "Long May You Run." A 1941 Chrysler Series 28 Windsor Highlander two-door, three-person coupe (estimate: $15,000-$20,000), considered Chrysler's most prestigious model in its day. (For a closer look at Young's lifetime interest in cars, here's a New York Times interview from 2012, which includes an anecdote about the time he ate road tar. Or his memoir "Special Deluxe: A Memoir of Life & Cars," in which he recounts every car he ever owned, and describes how he wrote the lyrics for "Like a Hurricane" in the back of a friend's 1950 DeSoto. He promoted the book in this NPR interview. He also tipped us off to the return of the Lincoln Continental, and is known for his LincVolt plug-in biodiesel 1960 Lincoln.) As for Young's train collection, he designed a remote control that allows multiple trains to run at once, and a device that delivers realistic railroad audio to help his son get the most of out the hobby.

2013 Buick Encore

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.
