Tri-Shield center caps – New
radial W/W tires · New OEM Style muffler & exhaust · Factory All-Transistor AM Radio option HISTORY: This Vintage Classic was a long term storage “barn
find” type of vehicle. After coming from California, it has spent the last 25
to 30 years in the dry desert areas of Eastern WA. After finding the car, prior owner started high end OEM restorations with a new top, then a professional Classic Restoration Shop strip & paint. We
recently had it transported over the mountains, where some final items could be
completed prior to sale. It is a solid, good running & driving vehicle. It
has been fully licensed with current WA State tabs as a daily driver. When the car arrived it had some of the trims
still off from the recent all new paint re-done in the Granada Red factory
color. New 80/20 loop padded OEM carpet
was still in a box along with new OEM style black convertible boot cover from Year
One. The carpet was just installed, and the boot was placed on the car for photos. The boot
still needs the trim clips attached; which are included. Early resto plans for
a custom red leather interior& built-in speakers. The system was never installed,
as owner then decided to go back to factory OEM. The factory AM all transistor radio works great. The
original back seats are still in long term storage and if and when found
can be included. Seat belts are included, as they were not put back in after
new carpet was installed, but will be put in prior to sale & transport. The convertible top was put on last year, so it is
like new. The power top motor works great, but presently does not put the top up or down. I checked all top pistons as intact, it
appears the mineral fluid in the lines is low from sitting so plan on a
recharge, maybe new piston seals or pistons, which are very inexpensive on ebay. Top still easily works fine manually. Glass is all good, windows all
work, interior is original. Overall
this is a great car & fun driver. The factory power steering was amazing, as for the vintage this car shifted firm, handled
very solid, drives nice with tight turning. The Skylark was the
top of the line model, a factory sport V6 convertible with AT & full power
steering. It has a unique history, as it was a custom order for a Dealer Showroom
or introductory show car in California. Some of the other numbers on Data Plate
are unique, showing the 1–A for date which could be January 1st of
1964, along with a 2-2 which is unknown. There is also the DSO (dealer special
order) number of 11300. 1964 was a full new body size & style car design
for the Skylark. The V-6 was also the engine of the future, and in prior years
the new Skylark with V6 was voted as “CAR OF THE YEAR”. The 64 Skylark engine was upgraded to a 225 cubic-inch cast
iron block V6 that generated 155 hp at 4400 rpm. This engine was
introduced in 1964, very similar to the earlier V6 beginning with the 1962
model year which had a smaller displacement of 196 cubic-inch. This engine was
basically a Buick V8 300 CID engine but the block was cast with two less
cylinders, being a durable & depandable motor with lots of power & rated good MPG. This rare survivor still sports its original factory FIREBALL V-6 air
cleaner. DATA PLATE INFO: §

free CA built Skylark Convertible… I have photos with
carpets removed, showing the floor pans as very solid with not even surface
rust. I have also included a few under photos, and everywhere I looked I have
seen no evidence of rust. CA and WA do not salt roads, and we can get amazing
condition survivors like this one. We were told odometer mileage was original
at the 72K, but have no way to verify. The checkered mat in the trunk is still
glued down and appears to be the actual mat from the factory, which may help
to verify this fact. The car was just tuned with new wires,
plugs, points, cap, gas filter, new synthetic blend oil & Fram filter. You
can also note newer water pump and new hoses, belts, etc. The large V6 engines
are noted for power and torque, and there are Edelbrock aluminum intake
manifolds, headers, carbs & dual exhaust systems to make this a muscle type
car if desired. ESTATE SALE: This is an estate clearance
sale.
I am helping the elderly owner move this striking vintage muscle car on to a new
home. As such, I do not have full history, but being a classic car collector I
can honestly say someone is going to get one heck of a classic muscle car in
solid & original condition … a true head turner that is a great investment
you can drive & enjoy!! SHOW&

2014 Buick Regal gets the party rolling in NY
Wed, 27 Mar 2013Although the first day of the 2013 New York Auto Show kicks off bright and early this morning, Buick got a jump on the competition by unveiling the 2014 Buick Regal lineup last night. While the Regal received many upgrades for the 2014 model year, most of our attention was focused on the sedan's drivetrain.
When the new Regal hits dealers this fall, buyers opting for the new Regal Turbo will be welcomed by an additional 39 horsepower and 35 pound-feet of torque from the 2.0-liter turbo engine; the 2014 Regal GS now features the same output of 259 hp and 295 lb-ft, meaning that it has actually lost 11 hp over the 2013 model year. Buick says the reason for the GS' power loss comes from the fact that the newly available all-wheel-drive system forced the car to use a smaller diameter exhaust system, but representatives on hand assured us that the reduction of horsepower won't affect the car's performance and could even help improve fuel economy. And who knows? Maybe downgrading the power of the Regal GS also helps create a little breathing room for a future Grand National or GNX model...
Although the power under the hood is now the same, it is still impossible to confuse the two cars from the outside. Minor updates give both a fresher look, but the Regal GS has an unmistakeable aggression to it. The GS' interior also helps it stand apart from lower Regal trim levels with an eight-inch configurable gauge cluster similar to what is offered in the 2014 LaCrosse. The cabin of the Regal wasn't given an extensive makeover like the LaCrosse received, but the upgraded IntelliLink infotainment system and the cleaner center stack and steering wheel controls are appreciated changes.
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Pre-owned bargain alert: Buick Regal
Wed, Feb 3 2016For the past couple of years, Buick has been very aggressive in promoting short-term low-mileage leasing. The plan was to get people in the door to experience the new Buick. Once they realized Buicks are now sleek and full of Euro Chic, people might want to buy one. It's debatable if that plan worked, but one thing is for sure: There's a massive amount of low-mileage Buick Regals out there. The price of Regals is all over the map due to lease returns and dealers aggressively discounting 2015 models to get rid of them. But at the $17,500–20,000 range there are a good number of 2013 to 2015 Regals with under 15k miles for sale. The Regal might come with 2.0L Turbo or 2.4L Hybrid. The Hybrid is a bit slow; stick with the Turbo and drive with the traction control off. They all come moderately equipped with leather, heated seats, alloy wheels, and dual-zone climate control. If you have a little more cash to spend, go for the 2012/2013 Regal GS, which is based on the Opel Insignia OPC. The Regal GS comes with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft from a turbo engine and a HiPerStrut suspension to reduce torque steer. They all come standard with Brembo brakes, navigation, sunroof, and premium sound system, in automatic or manual. Just make sure you budget money in your savings to replace the front tires. Trust me on this. You can purchase a Camry or Accord with some equipment for under $20,000 with a bit more miles and years than the Regal. But ultimately the Regal feels more premium, drives better, and is less boring. Make the right choice and buy something unique.Related Video:
