1953 Buick Roadmaster Hot Rod Rat Rod Lead Sled Hotrod Ratrod Leadsled Project on 2040-cars
Ravenna, Kentucky, United States
I am listing this car for a friend of mine, so please remember that when asking questions or when leaving feedback if this vehicle sells. I will post his email and if you have any additional questions or need more pictures please email him. The vehicle has clear title and my friend has the title in hand. Up for sell we have a 1953 Buick Roadmaster Hardtop. The Buick body is sitting on a 1979 Oldsmobile Delta 88 frame and running gear. The car has the Olds 350 motor, power brakes, steering column and gas tank. A Painless wiring harness gives the car all its juice. Tail lights, turn signals, parking lights all work. Car also has an under dash mounted heater. Tail lights are out of a 1969 Cadillac and are turned upside down. All glass is original and is in good shape and working condition. The quarter glass has some "fogging" around the edges. Both door windows and quarter glass roll up and down and both wing glass work. To my knowledge all the original chrome is on the car. Interior is what you see. The front seats are buckets out of a newer model vehicle, they do recline. Rear seat is original with a mexican blanket covering it. The are no door panels, kick panels or headliner. Speedometer, Tachometer and in dash clock do not work. Car has fuel, oil pressure, water temperature and battery voltage gauge that do work. The wiring harness is mounted under the dash and also has a 12v socket for phone charger etc. The white walls are "port-a-walls" not real white wall tires. Port-a-walls came from Mooneyes. Tires are 205/70/15 Goodyear Viva with 80-85% tread left. Spyder caps and beauty rings came from So-Cal Customs. Wheels are 5x5" lug pattern. As far as under the hood...nothing special. No chrome or any type of dress up at all. The car sits low......because it is. No type of air-ride. It has been channeled roughly 8" and just sits low. Overall the car runs and drives good. I have rode with my buddy in this car to numerous car shows out of state, 2-3 hrs away with no problems. Car has drove on the interstate running 65-70mph no problem. His wife drives it quiet often as well. He has no problem worrying about her driving the car. The car is a driver.....it is not a trailer queen. It gets drove. The car is right at the border line to leave as a "Rat Rod" or slick up. The worst part of the body is the rear splash pan directly below the trunk. As far as the rest of the car from 2-3" up on the bottom to roof is in pretty decent shape. No major dents or dings. Roof is fairly straight and solid....mainly surface rust. This car would make a good as is "Rat Rod" cruiser/driver or take the time to slick it up and make a show car out of it. If you have any questions or want anymore pictures regarding the car please email- k_short@hotmail.com. That is my friends email address. The car is for sale locally, we reserve the right to end this auction at anytime. If the car does sell the buyer is responsible for any shipping arrangements. That includes pick up, delivery and cost of getting the car to them.

GM recalling 316k vehicles due to headlamp faults
Mon, Dec 1 2014General Motors has announced a recall covering 316,357 vehicles globally, due to the possibility of sporadic or permanent failure of the low-beam headlamps. 273,182 of these vehicles are in the United States, while the remaining affected units are in Canada, Mexico, and elsewhere. This recall includes the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse (pictured above), 2006-07 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT, 2006-07 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL, 2006-07 Buick Rainier, 2006-08 Saab 9-7X, and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender. In an email sent to Autoblog, General Motors explains that if the headlamp driver modules are not functioning correctly, "the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate." GM states that this problem does not affect things like high-beams, turn signals, marker lamps, or foglamps. As of this writing, GM states it "has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents." The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been notified, but the recall has not yet posted to the government agency's website. Scroll down to read the full details in GM's email. General Motors is recalling 273,182 Buick LaCrosse sedans and Chevrolet, GMC, Buick, Saab and Isuzu midsize SUVs in the U.S. for possible intermittent or permanent loss of low beam headlamps. Affected models are: 2006-2009 Buick LaCrosse sedans; 2006-2007 Chevrolet TrailBlazer and 2006 TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X and 2006-2008 Isuzu Ascender midsize SUVs. If the headlamp driver modules is not operating correctly, the low-beam headlamps and daytime running lamps could intermittently or permanently fail to illuminate. This condition does not affect the high-beam headlamps, marker lamps, turn signals, or fog lamps. GM has not been able to confirm whether the HDMs in these vehicles caused any vehicle accidents. The total population, including the U.S., Canada, Mexico and exports from North America is 316,357. The NHTSA was sent the Part 573 information for this recall on November 25. It has not yet posted to the NHTSA website. 2022 Buick Envision Plus three-row crossover is like an Envision, plus
Wed, Apr 7 2021Buick exited the sedan segment when it axed the Regal, but it's going all-in on crossovers and SUVs. It released a dark preview image that gives us an early look at a three-row family-hauler named Envision Plus. Announced only for the Chinese market as of writing, the Envision Plus is — as its name implies — positioned above the Envision in the company's range, though it's smaller than the Enclave. It's mechanically related to the crossover it shares its nameplate with, but it appears to receive a specific design with a new-look front bumper and a more upright grille. It also wears a boxier silhouette that allowed Buick to add a third row of seats. Extra seating aside, we expect the Plus will offer an interior close to the standard Envision's, which we described as "a scaled-down take on the Enclave's interior" in February 2021. Similarly, Buick will likely offer the Envision Plus with the same turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the smaller model. It produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and it spins the front or the four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Buick will release more details about the 2022 Envision Plus in the coming weeks, and it will unveil the model at the 2021 edition of the Shanghai auto show opening its doors on April 21. While the company hasn't confirmed plans to sell its latest crossover in its home market, we wouldn't be surprised if it arrives here before the end of 2021. Auto shows were put on hiatus in 2020, at the height of the on-going coronavirus pandemic, and the upcoming Shanghai show is the first major industry event in over a year. In addition to the Buick people-mover, we'll discover Toyota's first global electric car. It will arrive as a near-production concept close in size to the hot-selling RAV4. 2019 Buick Envision First Drive Review | Still not a standout
Thu, Mar 15 2018ATLANTA – "We're in the fashion business," executive chief engineer Rick Spina told us as he introduced the 2019 Buick Envision. "Except with a lot of technology." Spina was referring to the changing whims of new-car buyers, which have prompted Buick to give the compact Envision crossover its mid-generational update early — just 18 months into its lifecycle — and drop its prices across all trim levels. As with much of our consumer goods, the Envision is made in China. That doesn't seem to have hurt it in the market, even though it wears the badge of one of the most quintessentially American brands out there. It even aced the IIHS crash tests, putting it in league with Volvo, Mercedes-Benz and Lexus. There's good news and bad news about how the Envision is doing. It's now the third-best-selling model in the Buick portfolio, behind the three-row Enclave in second place and the surprise hit Encore subcompact crossover in first. Sam Russell, Buick's director of marketing, reported 73 percent growth in the past nine months versus the first half of its market life. A full 60 percent of Envision buyers are new to the GM family, too, and Russell says that nearly half of those are likely to buy another Buick SUV when the time comes to trade in the Envision. And yet, the Envision trails in luxury compact-crossover sales, behind mainstays such as the Audi Q5 and Acura RDX, even amid crossover demand in the U.S. that has companies like Nissan posting record sales numbers and Ford canceling a redesign of the Fusion. Our test of the 2017 Envision found it competent, but lacking that "X factor" that would send buyers of German and Japanese marques flocking. Instead, we compared it to the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, and deemed those both better values. Perhaps Buick feels the same, because the base 2019 Envision now starts at $32,990, a $2,000 cut from last year. The Preferred trim level sees a greater drop of $2,400, to $34,495. Rounding out the naturally aspirated 2.5-liter grades, the Essence's price falls $1,900 to $36,795. The turbocharged 2.0-liter Premium and Premium II trims get a discount of $1,600 and $1,400, respectively. With those prices come changes that Buick hopes will make the Envision a more compelling prospect. Outwardly, the Envision sports a new grille, a winged affair to replace the 2018's waterfall and bring it in line with the rest of Buick's lineup.
