1995 Buick Riviera Supercharged
Here is a very nice 1995 Buick Riviera for auction. This is my father's car, it has been a seldom driven "pleasure car" for him, and he has too many other cars and not enough room or time to drive them. We purchased this car from an affluent owner of a large franchise new car dealership. It appears that it was a pleasure car for he and his wife as well. His wife's initials still adorn the car's doors as you can see from the pictures. It has just 75,000 original miles, and has been well cared for and maintained. It is a turn-key car that you can hop in and enjoy. As far as we know it is not in need of anything, it runs and drives excellent. My father is very particular about his vehicles, and takes care of anything that needs attention. The exterior is in very nice shape, and looks great all around. I have taken time to show the small cosmetic defects that I noticed, mostly just areas where the paint was touched up. I also have shown the initials on the doors, because on the passenger door they have been clear coated over. There is no rust showing on the car, the paint and body I would say are excellent for the year of the car. The interior is also very nice as you can see from the pictures. There is some minor wear on the driver's seat bottom, no rips or tears, just a spot where the leather is slightly discolored/worn. It appears that it has just about every option that you could get on the car, including factory CD player and heated seat. The only thing that my father pointed out that does not work is the inside popper for the gas door. If you have any questions or concerns about the car, please feel free to ask. We have an excellent feedback rating, and would like to keep it that way. We will be as honest and straightforward about the car as we can, because that is the way we would want someone to treat us. You can call or text me at (607)624-4953 or send me an email through ebay and will get right back to you. We are offering the car with NO RESERVE, it will be sold to the highest bidder. We no longer have a use for the car, and are hoping to find it a good home. No games, no gimmicks, just a fair, honest auction for everyone involved. As nice as this car is, please remember that you are buying a 19 year old car, so there may be some minor imperfections that we may have missed. And if so, please know that we have not purposely omitted them. We would ask that you be prepared to leave a $500 deposit via Paypal upon the auction ending, and the balance when you pick up the car or before having it shipped. Thanks for looking and good luck bidding!

GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
Buick Encore, Chevy Trax earn Top Safety Pick from IIHS [w/video]
Thu, Feb 12 2015The Buick Encore has been a massive sales success practically from the moment it debuted, and Buick recently decided to increase production to keep up with demand for the premium compact crossover. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety recently put one to the test again, and the Encore earned a Top Safety Pick award. It's the first model from the brand to score the nod since 2013, according to the IIHS, and the rating also carries over to the 2015 Chevrolet Trax. The 2015 Encore scored a Good rating in all of the IIHS' evaluations, including the 40-mile-per-hour, small overlap front crash test. That was a big improvement over the previous model the institute tested, which scored a Poor result in the overlap test. In the first test, about 13 inches of the lower door hinge pillar came into the passenger compartment, and the steering wheel airbag moved too far to protect the dummy's head. Improvements for the latest model year showed six inches of intrusion this time, and the airbags caught the dummy's head well. The dummy's sensors also indicated a low risk of injury. The two CUVs missed out on the full Top Safety Pick+ because the IIHS scored the Encore as only having a basic front crash prevention system, and there was no such equipment for the Trax. To earn the highest mark, models need at least an advanced rating by the institute for this technology. Buick Encore, Chevrolet Trax earn 2015 TOP SAFETY PICK award ARLINGTON, Va. - A small SUV is the first vehicle from the Buick brand to qualify for a TOP SAFETY PICK award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety since 2013. The Buick Encore's newly introduced, lower-priced twin, the Chevrolet Trax, also qualifies for the honor. The Encore's award follows improvements to the SUV's structure for better small overlap front protection. The 2015 model earns a good rating in the small overlap test. In contrast, the 2013-14 Encore rated poor in the test. The driver's space was seriously compromised with intrusion measuring as much as 13 inches at the lower door hinge pillar. The dummy's head barely contacted the front airbag before sliding off the left side, as the steering column moved to the right. The side curtain airbag deployed too late and didn't have sufficient forward coverage to protect the head. In the latest test, the driver space was maintained reasonably well, with maximum intrusion of 6 inches at the door hinge pillar and instrument panel. The dummy's movement was well-controlled.
Repo man pays off elderly couple's car just in time for Thanksgiving
Mon, Nov 28 2016Repo men get bad raps for a good reason; no one likes having their car taken away. At least one guy in the repossession game proved folks in his profession aren't all bad when he helped an elderly couple hold on to their wheels right before Thanksgiving. According to the Belleville News-Democrat, unexpected bills and the rising cost of prescription medications pushed Stanford and Patty Kipping's fixed income to the breaking point. Unable to keep up with the $95 dollar a month payment on their 1998 Buick, they fell into arrears and the bank sent a repo man out to their home in Red Bud, Illinois to reclaim the car. Jim Ford, co-owner of Illini Recovery Inc., hooked up the old Buick and dragged it away, but later that night his conscience caught up with him. "When I got home that night, I said to myself, 'They are a real nice elderly couple. I gotta do something. I can't just take their car,'" Ford told the News-Democrat. Ford did do something, something surprisingly humane. He set up a GoFundMe and, within just a few short hours, he raised more than $3,500 dollars. This was enough money to pay off the Kipping's loan with a little left over for some maintenance. Ford and a friend then hooked the car back up and towed it back to the Kipping's home. Ford presented the couple with their trusty Buick, and threw in a thousand dollars in an envelope and a frozen turkey for Thanksgiving. "It was a miracle come true," Patty told the paper. "We didn't know what we were going to do." "I got up this morning and I looked up at the sun and I said, 'I hope we get our car back,'" added Stanford. "It's just unbelievable."Related Video: News Source: Belleville News-Democrat Auto News Weird Car News Buick repossession repo man
