1984 Buick Riviera Convertible

Original California car, very rare, one of 500 made.

This collectable car is listed on eBay for the first time!

Currently located in beautiful Petaluma, California where the classic movie "American Graffiti" was filmed.

This car is out of the estate of the long time owner who passed away in 2009, and had only been driven less than 1500 miles between 2005 and his death in 2009.

This is a RUST FREE CAR!!

Car starts right up, no engine noises or smoke, runs, drives, and shifts just like is should.  Car had the very strict California emissions inspection performed in September 2013 and passed with no issues at 79588 miles.  Current miles are 79611 which are believed to be the original miles, but which I cannot confirm.

Original paint, which is in good condition, top is in very good shape but needs the rear window replaced.  Power top goes up and down smoothly with no issues.

Car comes with reciepts for repairs in excess of $2500.00 which includes $1697.00 for major brake system overhaul and the balance for a tune up and front tires.

DMV is current, the Estate paid $608.00 in fees and penalties.  Has a new clear and clean title.

Full power accessory car, but needs some attention to the following: Dash pad has small cracks in it, seats are cracked, filler panels between front and rear bumpers and body, (rears are included but need to be installed), left rear glass off track, (motor works), speedometer reads erratically.  Hood ornament, original radio and wire hubcaps are missing.

Junkyard Gem: 2002 Buick Regal Joseph Abboud Edition

Sun, Aug 23 2020

Ever since we saw that snazzy green 2000 Buick Regal GSE last month, with its supercharger and Monsoon Audio speakers, I've made it my junkyard-searching goal to find a genuine Joseph Abboud Edition Regal among the not-so-interesting Luminas and Vues in the GM sections of my local car graveyards. While this publication once stated that the Joseph Abboud Regal was "the low point of the brand" (in my view, the nadir was achieved with the Iron Duke-powered Skylarks of 1980-1985), my great love of designer-edition Detroit cars overrides any so-called rational opinions on the subject. It took less than three weeks of walking the aforementioned junkyard GM sections to find a Regal with the mark of the famous menswear company on the fenders. The heyday of designer-edition cars came during the 1970s, when Lincoln offered Continentals co-branded by Bill Blass, Givenchy, Pucci, and Cartier. At the same time, American Motors teamed up with Levi's and Oleg Cassini, and fashion-industry players continued to work with car manufacturers here and there after that time. It appears that the Abboud package got you nice leather seats with these monograms, plus the stylish fender badges. Otherwise, it was just a nicely-equipped but unspectacular late W-Body. For you GM trivia fans out there, the W platform stayed in production for an impressive near-three-decade span, from the 1988 Pontiac Grand Prix through the (fleet-only) 2016 Chevrolet Impala Limited. The final W-based Regals rolled off the assembly lines in 2005. This car has the 240-horsepower supercharged 3800 V6, so it's the GS version. You could get the Abboud package on the non-supercharged LS Regal as well. If you did, you got the better tires and suspension used on the GS. These Roots-type Eaton M90 blowers are by far the easiest superchargers to find and extract from a junkyard car. In fact, there's such a glut of these things at swap meets that the going price now hovers around 50 bucks. This car looks to have been in decent shape when it arrived in the junkyard. The original owner's manual was still in the glovebox when I found it. The 240-horse supercharged engine was Harley Earl's idea, turns out. He'd been dead since 1969, but that's a technicality. Some tips for selling the new Regal.

This 1988 Buick LeSabre Estate Wagon looks like a boxy, wood-sided bargain

Fri, May 8 2020

The growing interest in 1980s cars has meant that General Motors' full-size B-body station wagons of the era are now attracting the interest of collectors as well as iconoclasts seeking an SUV alternative. This 1988 Buick LeSabre Estate Wagon for sale right now on eBay Motors, looks to be a tempting example of the genre. It has covered just 72,000 miles and is described as a "rust-free southern car." The A/C is said to be cold, and it's equipped with power windows, a split-bench front seat and a rear-facing third seat. Whereas the Electra was the wagon for the finest estates, the LeSabre presumably was for those that were one rung down, so it has a slightly more downmarket maroon cloth interior where the Electra would have velour. Yet this LeSabre Estate Wagon is still slathered in a full complement of woodgrain siding, and this car sports a factory set of wire wheel covers. We're told the 5.0-liter V8 sound great, while the paint is said to be "a little tired" and one headlight looks like it needs to be replaced. The "Buy It Now" price is $8,500, and the seller is also inviting offers. Plus, 1% of the sales price benefits St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, so there's a feel-good factor. For comparison, this wagon's Oldsmobile twin currently being auctioned on Bring a Trailer already has been bid past $8,900 for four days still to go in the auction. This '83 Custom Cruiser has 74,000 miles and looks maybe a little spiffier, but not a lot more so. The seller of this Oldsmobile includes a video in his listing, and in it he appears to be not wearing pants. Sometimes it's all about presentation. Related Video:
