This is real rare find here!

All original 1983 Buick Riviera 2 door Luxury Coupe. This very highly optioned vehicle has been in my family since new. Very low original mileage of only 44,422. Loaded with factory options such as climate control, power seats, power windows and locks, power antenna(currently not working), tungsten halogen headlights and so much more. This car was purchased new by my grandparents at Vern Eide Buick in Sioux Falls, SD.  My dad currently owns it and I am assisting him in selling it. Car is extremely clean and has always been garaged and covered since new. The car is nearly 100% original except for the passenger front fender that was replaced about 10 years ago when the original front tire came apart and damaged it. It was repaired by the Buick dealership and there are no signs of the damage whatsoever. Also, the Riviera emblem on the hood was stolen about 20 years ago and an original replacement was never found. The one on there now is not original to the car. The factory exhaust has been replaced as well.

The car is in excellant shape overall and runs and drives superbly. The color is an upgraded special option code D83 and is called Firemist. The paint and body are very nice but do show some minor wear such as a few scratches and nics and two dings on the hood. The plastic filler panels behind the front and rear bumpers have cracked(see pics). The wire wheel hubcaps are in excellant condition and even come with the original locking tool for the hubcaps. The tires are all in great shape. The interior shows very little sign of wear with the exception of the headliner which is starting to sag in a few spots(see pics). The seats and carpet are near perfect and there are no smells or odors in the car. Original floor mats also show very little wear.  Dash is perfect with no cracks or waves at all. All factory options work as they should with the exception of the power antenna. The engine is very clean and detailed and runs very smoothly. The transmission shifts smoothly but does seem to drip a little fluid when sitting. I have all the original paperwork, books, original window sticker and even the Bose cassette tapes that came with the car. This is a very nice example of one the classic, iconic cars of the 80's and is probably one of the few remaining with these low miles and that is in this good of shape. This car cost over $19,000 in 1983!

Car is for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early. Serious buyers can call my father Kim directly at 864-915-6356. Or you can email me through Ebay and will I do my best to answer your questions. I have done my best to describe this car as accurately and honestly as possible and have taken a bunch of photos so please look them over carefully. Here is a link to my photobucket with lots of detailed photos.

Please ask any question before bidding and pre bidding inspections are welcomed and recommended. I will make not make any concessions for anything inadvertently left out of the description. With that said, I truly believe that the new owner of this car will not be disappointed. Thanks for looking!

Buick boss shuts down idea of importing Opel Adam

Wed, Mar 30 2016

Anyone hoping for Buick to sell small city cars in America, you're not going to like this story. Buick boss Duncan Aldred has effectively ruled out importing the stylish Opel Adam city car for US drivers. Yep, this is us being bummed. Admittedly, the business case for Adam is not as strong as it used to be. Gas is cheap and consumers have fallen back in love with the idea of high-riding crossovers instead of efficient cars. That's why Buick sold twice as many teeny, tiny Encore CUVs in 2015 as it did its smallest car, the Verano. With that in mind, slotting in another car, let alone one below the Verano, isn't a great idea. Of course, Aldred didn't come out and say as much, even though he campaigned for a US-market Adam in the past. "I very much did feel when I came over that that could really help accelerate the Buick brand story," the executive told Automotive News at last week's New York Auto Show. "I don't see that as much. Whether the market shifted or the fashion nature of those cars has changed, I don't know. But I wouldn't be looking for a small, B-segment car today." That, friends, is a real bummer. Adding a car like the Adam, even in a small, captive-import capacity would add a real dose of fun to Buick showrooms and (we're guessing) would bring in younger foot traffic. Related Video:

2014 Buick Regal GS

Mon, 09 Sep 2013

A few months ago I drove the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and wrote up a First Drive review of it. For all of my quibbles with that sedan (and I had a fair number), I understand that it speaks to the heart of what new Buick loyalists like in a car; it's roomy, has a cushy ride and is as placid as a summer's morning at highway speeds.
Those qualities, while undeniably desirable, don't mean a whole lot to me personally. I prefer sedans that conjure up words like "nimble," "punchy" or even "raucous" on occasion. So, directionally, the high-performance GS version of the 2014 Buick Regal is more my cup of tea than any other car in the company's current range.
In fact, I'd already come to know the Regal GS from its 2012 model year introduction, and grown more than a little fond of the sporting sedan in its original front-wheel-drive, six-speed-manual guise. The fast, sweet-handling car with well-sorted controls may have suffered from a slight identity crisis in terms of pricing (and may still), but it was undeniably fun to drive. So, when I heard that the GS was coming to market for 2014 with optional all-wheel drive (albeit only in combination with a six-speed automatic transmission), I was stoked to have another go and concentrated my driving impressions on the AWD car.

March Madness upsets good for auto advertisers

Mon, Mar 23 2015

There are no Cinderella teams left in the NCAA men's basketball tournament - the fairytales ended with Georgia State's loss to Xavier over the weekend. And even though the Sweet 16 is composed of elite teams - at the time of writing the lowest-ranked squad is 11th-seeded UCLA, which has most championships of any school in the country - there are still underdogs and surprises, and they are good for NCAA business and advertisers. Last year the March Madness Live app, which allows users to watch games on the go, was downloaded 4.5 million times, a jump of more than 40 percent over 2013. Buick sponsors the iOS version of the app, but more than a million of those downloads were for the Android version, sponsored by Infiniti since 2011. Part of Buick's engagement is a "Boss Button" on the livestream sites that can quickly mask the page with something your boss won't question you over. It also sponsors a trick-shot competition for fans, has a display in Bracket Town during the Final Four, and its cars lead the team buses through the city. Infiniti said last year's tourney increased online searches for the brand by 25 percent in March, and things are going even better this year: it's round-by-round bracket game drew 477,859 total entries in 2014, this year's game has signed up 534,350 already and the tournament has another two weeks to go. The luxury brand is all over the event, promoting the QX60 through to the Final Four, then moving its efforts to the Q50. It sponsors the Coaches vs. Cancer charity and will have an Infiniti Lounge near the Final Four venue in downtown Indianapolis. So for the two automakers keeping their own scores... come on, Wichita State! Six brackets, six chances to win a trip to #FinalFour 2016.
