1970 Buick Riviera Original Triple Black Big Block Luxury Muscle Car on 2040-cars
Sherman Oaks, California, United States
1970 Buick Riviera Fastback! 1970 was possibly the best year for American Muscle Cars, most
horsepower and torque from the factory in US History. This all original survivor is a
true California Car that spent most of its life in Long Beach California.
Car is jet black, with black vinly roof and interior. The interior is EXCELLENT, no rips or tears and the seats have no wear on them at all. The paint has some cracks and has some small chips that have been repaired, but there is no visible rust or major issues. The car is SUPER STRAIGHT and with a new paint job and engine detail could be a show car all day. This is what I call a boulevard superstar, with immense Curb appeal and looks like a million bucks at night! the 455 Big Block engine runs great, transmission shifts smoothly and the rear end rides perfectly. The car has been professionally lowered about 2 inches on brand new lowering springs and Bilstien Shocks and has the BEST ride you can imagine > This riviera Floats down the road , and handles terrifically. The Car has power windows , Power steering, Cruise control A/C ( not connected) and a bunch of other great features. Recently replaced car has new springs, shocks, carburetor, fuel pump, master cylinder, new dual exhaust and mufflers to the chrome tips, brakes, tires and much more. The windows are lightly tinted and the car has both the factory skirts and the rare factory chrome Buick mags. I am selling the car privately and it t is available to be seen by appointment. Here is a video from the car from before i bought it, and while the car has been upgraded and looks and runs even better now, some of the details can be seen. The car also has a spare Mag wheel, A Sony Remote control CD player-stereo under the dash, so the dash has not been cut and maintains its original look. This is a get in and drive car that looks and drives great, you will get thumbs up all day long and people trying nearly crashing their cars to get a pic of this on the road, it defines "badass". Not a boat tail, but the one off, one year only wide body fastback riviera. |

Buick Verano to go turbo-only for 2014?
Sat, 22 Dec 2012If VIN tags recently posted online prove accurate, the 2014 Buick Verano may be getting a new base engine. Presently the Verano makes use of GM's 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine in non-turbo trim; 2014 documentation appears to indicate that GM's entry-level luxury compact will instead feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged mill.
If this is the same engine seen in Europe, GM Inside News suggests it may offer 192 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque - useful improvements over the larger naturally aspirated mill's 180 hp and 171 lb-ft. More importantly, the downsized engine would likely improve on the Verano's current fuel mileage estimates of 21 city and 31 highway.
We like the Verano in both of its current iterations, but the 1.6 turbo engine sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if this reports turns out to be true. Plus, if more performance is your bag, baby, there's always the Verano's optional 2.0 turbo engine with an impressive 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft from just 2.0 liters of displacement.
Buick could import Envision crossover from China
Fri, Nov 13 2015Reports about the Buick Envision's likely arrival in the US go back even before the midsize crossover's debut in China last year, but the brand still doesn't have a official decision about whether to bring it here. According to The Detroit News, the company is somewhat concerned about a poor consumer reaction to launching a Chinese-made model in this country. Even if Buick officials are slightly apprehensive about the public perception, the concerns might not hold back the Envision in US. An anonymous source also tells The Detroit News that the brand intends to launch the CUV early next year and wants to sell around 40,000 of them annually. However, the UAW is reportedly not happy about the possibility of a Chinese-produced model coming here. The Envision launched at the Chengdu Motor Show as a step between the compact Encore and three-row Enclave. Power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with stop/start and 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. Buick offers the CUV with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive. The interior features active noise cancellation and an eight-inch infotainment system. The Envision also seems like a natural fit for Buick in the US due to the obvious hole in its CUV lineup, and the abundant rumors suggest that the brand sees the possibilities for it. The company now needs to decide whether to take a chance here and offer a vehicle from China.
Junkyard Gem: 1983 Buick LeSabre Estate Station Wagon, Rocky Mountain High Edition
Thu, Mar 23 2017If you live in Colorado and want an affordable chariot to haul you and your snowboarding droogs to the slopes, you could get one of the obvious cheapskate choices, e.g., a Tercel 4WD, a Corolla All-Trac, or an 80s 4WD Subaru wagon. However, if you want to channel the spiritual forefathers of early-1980s punk rock (and you do), you'll need a big, battered, Detroit bomb. This '83 LeSabre, spotted in a Denver self-service wrecking yard, is such a car. As you can see in 1984's Suburbia, you're pretty much halfway to being a member of The Vandals when you drive a couple of tons of once-luxurious Detroit Iron. 1983 was the final year of the Malaise Era, and so you didn't get much power from the V8s back then. The standard engine for the LeSabre that year was an Olds 307 generating a mere 140 horsepower. The only way to get a burnout out of this setup was to pour a case of Lucky Lager over the right rear tire, then neutral-drop the transmission while floating the valves. Chrysler and Nissan dominated the Whorehouse Red car interiors during the 1980s, but GM made a respectable showing with this scratchy, velour-influenced stuff. When you know you're a car's last owner, nothing holds you back from decorating it to suit your tastes. Ron Paul, the Snowboarders + Skiers For Christ, and many other icons of Buick-driving snow enthusiasts are represented upon the ample flanks of this wagon. How many miles are on it? With a five-digit odometer, there's no telling. The Colorado sun is rough on interiors, but this car may have spent its first couple of decades parking in a garage, or maybe it came from cloudy Oregon. Advertising for this generation of LeSabre emphasized fuel economy, which may have been a less-than-convincing approach. Related Video:
