Up for auction is this 1967 Buick Riviera Coupe. It belongs to a good friend of mine who asked if I would list it for him. I will describe the car to the degree that I see it. the car has it's original drive train. A 430 V8 auto trans. Motor runs well transmission shifts great. I drove it to my lot approx 1 1/2 hours from here
. There is a very minor exhaust leak on the passenger side . The car has ps,pb,air cond, (no belt on the compressor) pw, power drivers seat, tilt wheel, pioneer stereo, drivers side remote mirror, bucket seats with console floor shift, vinyl top, (showing age) tinted glass, factory buick road wheels and gauge package. Everything is in working condition with the exception of the power seat . It does move back and forth electrically but the gear spins for going up and down. Also the ac belt is off but the clutch spins freely on the compressor. Gauges all work. All lights includeing the flip down headlights, turn signals, wipers etc work. Horn does not blow. For the most part the interior is in good useable condition. Headliner very nice as is the dash, door panels, and seats with the exception of the torn spot on the drivers seat bottom. The body appears to be good and solid nice floors frame and undercarriage . Doors open and close nicely. The car has had an older repaint and I suppose there could have been some prior body work but overall looks fairly decent. I only found 1 rust spot and that is on the inner quarter panel area down low just in from the rocker nothing that a small patch wouldn't take care of water and dirt must have got trapped there.. Both front and rear bumpers are in good shape. Has all the factory road wheels . I have 3 of the 4 centers but they need new clips to hold them in place. Also there are 2 different styles of tires 1 set is fairly new they are master craft avenger gt's 235/70R15 the other 2 are mohawk prediator same size. This is a car that you can get in turn the key and drive away. Enjoy it as it is and upgrade it as you go along. And best of all it's priced fairly so it wont break the bank. We have a clear maine registration which serves as a title in most states and proper transfer forms for a smooth transaction. 2014 Buick LaCrosse
Wed, 24 Jul 2013A Nice, New Buick Aims For Middle Of The Road
Any time someone describes some portion of a car or a driving experience as being "nice," I want to either A) throttle them or B) run as fast and as far as I can from that vehicle. "Nice" is among the most insidious words in the English language - at best it's vague, and at worst, it conveys the exact opposite of its literal meaning. Yet it seems to be used with damnable frequency when it comes to verbally illustrating vehicles. "It looks really nice," or "These seats feel nice," or, heaven forefend, "It's got a nice ride," are all windy signifiers of absolutely nothing resembling a concrete opinion. "Nice" is the adjectival equivalent of meekly smiling and nodding your head.
Of course, I'm as guilty as the next person of having thrown English's least powerful descriptor around. There's even a chance that, rant aside, you'll catch me making nice in reviews to come. That's fine, but you should know that when you stumble upon such usage, past or future, that you've found a sentence in which I'm simply applying a bare minimum of effort to the task.
GM delivers best Q3 sales since 1980, 2.4M vehicles sold
Wed, 15 Oct 2014People are a weird sort. Even after registering over 70 recalls through the first three-quarters of 2014, General Motors saw its best Q3 results since Jimmy Carter was in the White House, registering over 2.4 million global sales between June and September on the back of strong results in the US and China.
US sales were marshaled by good results for GM's pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, which bumped the manufacturer's truck market share to 35.6 percent, up nearly three points from Q1 2014. Buick has seen healthy growth as well, with the Encore dominating its segment for the sixth month running.
It was China, though, that really bolstered GM's sales, as the company's efforts to top last year's record-setting 3.16 million units continued apace. Small SUV sales saw massive growth, with Encore, Chevrolet Trax and Captiva figures jumping 90 percent in Q3. Brand-wise, Chevrolet, Cadillac and Buick all saw sales gains in the PRC, with each recording double-digit year-over-year jumps. Cadillac sales alone were up 63 percent compared to the first nine months of 2013.
Buick boss shuts down idea of importing Opel Adam
Wed, Mar 30 2016Anyone hoping for Buick to sell small city cars in America, you're not going to like this story. Buick boss Duncan Aldred has effectively ruled out importing the stylish Opel Adam city car for US drivers. Yep, this is us being bummed. Admittedly, the business case for Adam is not as strong as it used to be. Gas is cheap and consumers have fallen back in love with the idea of high-riding crossovers instead of efficient cars. That's why Buick sold twice as many teeny, tiny Encore CUVs in 2015 as it did its smallest car, the Verano. With that in mind, slotting in another car, let alone one below the Verano, isn't a great idea. Of course, Aldred didn't come out and say as much, even though he campaigned for a US-market Adam in the past. "I very much did feel when I came over that that could really help accelerate the Buick brand story," the executive told Automotive News at last week's New York Auto Show. "I don't see that as much. Whether the market shifted or the fashion nature of those cars has changed, I don't know. But I wouldn't be looking for a small, B-segment car today." That, friends, is a real bummer. Adding a car like the Adam, even in a small, captive-import capacity would add a real dose of fun to Buick showrooms and (we're guessing) would bring in younger foot traffic. Related Video:
