1966 Riviera, Last Year Of 425 Nailhead, Incredible Teal Color, Mint, Runs Great on 2040-cars
Ridgefield, Connecticut, United States
Here's a wonderful 1966 Buick Riviera Hardtop coupe in pristine condition. It has the desirable Teal color that is as deep as the Caribbean sea, and is pretty near perfect! It spent 35 years up on blocks before being bought by an incredibly fussy and meticulous collector who then repainted it, and rebuilt the engine about 5000 miles ago. Engine is totally detailed, has working A/C, rebuilt AM/FM original radio, gorgeous black ribbed "tough as nails" vinyl interior, slight separation beginning in seam behind where the driver sits, mint headliner, power brakes, windows, steering and antenna, all working. All gauges work, power seats, etc.. Trunk is full of extra trim parts for this car, and the white-wall radial tires are practically new! Stunning car overall, and has won many trophies at car shows! A great cruiser, handles tight and like a dream. No play in the steering wheel, the suspension is wonderful and it handles beautifully. Engine sounds just like a real Buick should, especially with the final year of the "real" Buick engine, the big 425 Nailhead (465 Wildcat!) Undercarriage is mint, and totally factory. Never, EVER any rust anywhere, and no bodywork was ever needed for this baby! Radio was rebuilt and upgraded internally to modern standards, but the original appearance has been retained. If this is the car you're looking for, THIS is THE ONE you want!!! No disappointments..one of the best in the world, for sure! Give me a call to ask any questions, to take a test drive, or write me. Good luck! |

GM recalling 2013 Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac SRX over transmission software
Thu, 21 Mar 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued recalls for the 2013 Buick LaCrosse and 2013 Cadillac SRX due to a problem with the software for the transmission controller. On about 27,000 SRX and LaCrosse models, the transmission could accidentally be shifted to Sport mode, which would reduce the amount of engine braking drivers experience.
NHTSA says this could increase the risk of a crash, but, fortunately, the required fix is simply an update to the software.
While we're on the subject of General Motors vehicle recalls, a small number (48) of compressed natural gas versions of the 2011 Chevrolet Express are also being recalled for a potential risk of fire or explosion. Yikes. Both official recall notices are posted below.
Buick Envision to go on sale in third quarter of 2015
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Following an earlier concept and successive teasers, Buick revealed the new Envision crossover a little over a month ago. The thing is, it was launched in China, for China. The question, then, is whether it will make the jump to the North American market. And the answer is: quite possibly.
According to division sales chief Duncan Aldred in speaking to Edmunds, Buick is looking into the prospect of bringing the Envision to the US: "We can't confirm anything, but clearly it is a very nicely designed and executed product that is very much a Buick," said Aldred.
If and when the compact crossover would appear in US showrooms, it would slot in between the smaller Encore and the larger Enclave. It would likely be offered in front-wheel drive, all-wheel drive and mild hybrid configurations. Sources expect it to arrive in the third quarter of 2015 as a competitor to the likes of the Mercedes GLA, Lexus NX and Lincoln MKC.
GM investing $167m in Spring Hill for new midsize vehicles
Tue, 06 Aug 2013General Motors has announced a large investment in its Spring Hill, Tennessee facility. The former home of Saturn production will be getting a $167 million addition to a previously announced $183 million, to cover a pair of new midsize vehicles. The investment is expected to create 1,800 jobs at the factory.
That $350 million is being divvied up for a pair of programs at Spring Hill. The first will take the bulk of the money ($223 million) and create 1,000 of the 1,800 jobs, while the other will take the remaining $127 million and generate the leftover 800 positions. But GM says the investment will cover "midsize vehicle programs." So what could they be?
The leading candidate in our minds is a new crossover for Buick, called the Anthem, that will slot between the Encore and Enclave, but will be slightly smaller than the Equinox and Terrain. As we've explained, the new model will likely be the first product to sport GM's new D2UX platform, which will eventually replace both the Delta and Theta platforms. Spring Hill is already building the Equinox, so there could be some credence to this theory.
