425ci DUAL QUADS & POSI TRACTION REAR END.

LASER STRAIGHT BODY WITH SHOW QUALITY PAINT!

IMMACULATE ALL ORIGINAL INTERIOR!

RUNS & DRIVES EXCELLENT!

I'VE OWNED THIS CAR SINCE 1996. I PURCHASED IT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNERS NEPHEW. HE OWNED IT FOR LESS THAN 2 YEARS. I COULD TELL IT WAS VERY WELL TAKEN CARE OF WHEN I BOUGHT IT BACK THEN. IT HAD NO RUST. THE ORIGINAL PAINT ONLY HAD SOME MINOR  DULL AREAS. PLUS THE CAR DROVE BEAUTIFULLY ON THE 75 MILE HIGHWAY RIDE BACK TO MY HOUSE. DURING THE NEARLY 17 YEARS I'VE OWNED THE CAR. IT'S BEEN A GARAGE QUEEN. IT HAS NOT SEEN RAIN, NOT TO MENTION SNOW SINCE I'VE OWNED IT. I ONLY DROVE IT TO LOCAL CRUISE NIGHTS AND SOME SUMMER WEEKEND GETAWAYS.
IN 2002 I DECIDED TO REPAINT IT. THE ORIGINAL PAINT WAS GETTING THIN & HAD SOME SMALL AREAS IT WAS CRACKING. AT THAT TIME I WAS A BODY SHOP MANAGER FOR NEW CAR DEALER. SO I HAD MY BEST BODY TECH REMOVE EVERYTHING. I THEN SENT THE CAR OUT TO BE MEDIA BLASTED. WHEN THE CAR CAME BACK. I COULD SEE THAT IT HAD NEVER BEEN HIT OR HAD ANY BODY REPAIRS. I THEN HAD THE TECH MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS STRAIGHT AS AN ARROW BEFORE PAINT. I PICKED A COLOR THAT I THOUGHT WOULD LOOK AMAZING ON THE CAR. AND I MUST SAY IT DOES! IT WAS PAINTED, WET SANDED, BUFFED & PUT BACK TOGETHER. I'VE THOROUGHLY ENJOYED IT THE 10 PLUS YEARS SINCE!!

RECENT PARTS THAT HAVE BEEN REPLACED OR REBUILT.
REBUILT ORIGINAL MAIN CARB 2011
NEW FUEL PUMP 2011

THESE AWESOME CARS ARE RARE & GETTING HARDER TO FIND! THEIR VALUE HAS STEADILY BEEN INCREASING. NADA GUIDES SHOWS DRIVER VALUE UP TO $68K. I SAW A FRAME OFF RESTO LISTED HERE ON eBay LAST MONTH FOR $84.5K. MY INSURANCE COMPANY APPRAISED & INSURED IT FOR $58k LAST NOVEMBER. SO PLEASE, NO LOW BALL OFFERS. Opel Cascada is Europe's Buick convertible [w/video]

Wed, 17 Oct 2012

As we reported earlier, there has been much speculation regarding a Buick convertible of sorts. The most ringing endorsement of this conjecture comes today from General Motors Europe, as the new Opel Cascada has debuted on the interwebs. Opel calls the four-passenger Cascada an "athletic, glamorous midsize convertible." With a length of 4,697mm (185 in.), the Cascada is as long as an Audi A5, to which GM has said it would be slightly larger.
The Cascada, which is Spanish for waterfall, features a cloth convertible top that retracts in 17 seconds and at speeds up to 50 km/h (31 mph). The Cascada features a 1.4-liter turbo gas engine, 2.0-liter turbodiesel with 165 horsepower and a range-topping 1.6-liter turbocharged Ecotec engine that puts out 170 horsepower and 280 Nm (207 lb-ft). Power is sent through either a six-speed manual or six-speed automatic transmission.
According to GM, the Cascada will also come rife with luxury and tech features. In addition to adaptive forward lighting and ergonomic heated front seats, the convertible will feature Opel Eye, which is a front camera that can recognize traffic signs and incorporates lane departure warning and forward collision alert.

Mark Reuss: GM can't afford product 'misses,' has 'thought about' CT6 V-Series

Thu, Apr 9 2015

Mark Reuss is a busy man. He oversees General Motors' global product portfolio, an all-encompassing task for a company that sold more than 9.9 million cars and trucks last year. When GM launches a well-received product, like the road-going rocket ship that is the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 – he gets credit. When the company stumbles with the slow-selling Chevy Malibu or grapples with fallout from the decade-old Saturn Ion and its flawed ignition switch, he gets blamed. GM owners, the press and sometimes the federal government, demand answers. Bob Lutz famously held the job before Reuss. So did Mary Barra, who's now GM's chief executive. There's a New GM, but the lineage is connected to a long history. When he's not thinking product, Reuss, an executive vice president, also runs the purchasing and supply chain for the company, which is still one of the largest industrial empires in the world. We caught up with Reuss on the floor of the New York Auto Show, where GM had just rolled out two crucial new products: the 2016 Cadillac CT6 and the 2016 Chevrolet Malibu. Speaking with a small group of reporters, Reuss delved into a variety of subjects, including the new Malibu, Cadillac's future (he thinks the ATS-V is going to "flame the M3 and M4"), and other topics. On fixing the Malibu: "We can't miss. We can't have those kinds of misses [like the previous generation] on our cars and crossovers and trucks. We can't do that. If we do that, we give a reason for someone to go buy something else. It's that simple. "On a car like the Malibu we have a chance to really fix all of that, which we have, and then lead. Then you've got a real opportunity there. So that's what we've really been focused on here – to fix those things." He later added: "We need that car here to transform Chevrolet desperately because it's the heart of the market. And when you think of Chevrolet, people will come back and think about what we did with the [new] Malibu and the Cruze... It's hugely important to us." On Cadillac: "If we go out and try and out-German the Germans, it's probably not going to work. We've got an opportunity here generationally where there's a lot of people younger than me that have parents that drove BMWs and Mercedes, and I think there's an opportunity there for those people to drive something different than what their parents did, and I think that's always been an opportunity in the auto industry if you look at the history of it.

eBay Find Of The Day: 1946 Tucker Torpedo Prototype II hides a secret Riviera

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

The Tucker Torpedo is one of the great what-if stories of automotive history. Preston Tucker hoped to revolutionize the industry with a car unlike any other on the road at the time. However, due to a variety of problems, he only managed build 51 vehicles before closing shop. Over time, they have become highly sought-after; In 2012, one sold for $2.65 million at auction.
That brings us to this Tucker "replica" that you see above because it might be one of the ugliest monstrosities ever put together. However, we might extend some leniency to the creator, as the vehicle isn't actually trying to replicate the classic look of the 1948 Tucker Torpedo. Instead, it is attempting to reproduce an earlier prototype from 1946 that actually features that weird, trident nose. According to the seller, his uncle built the car as a labor of love and supposedly used actual plans from Tucker as inspiration.
Underneath all of the crazy changes is a 1971 Buick Riviera powered by a 455-cubic-inch (7.5-liter) Buick V8. Some of the replica's odder modifications include the front fenders that turn with the wheels and the fin running down the back. All three headlights work, but the one in the middle is only for the high beams. Oddly, the small hinged sections on the roof are meant to open to avoid hitting your head when getting in or out. Maybe the seller's uncle was a very tall guy?
