Here She is 1965 Buick Riviera!  I have owned a bunch of these and they are my favorite Riviera by Far.  The true factory custom.  I am selling this one to help get a bigger house for my family no other reason.  I really want to keep this car but its time to move on.   It is a great car and I have put a lot of time and money into it.  But time for someone else to finish it and enjoy it.  Here's a description of it, if there is any other info you would like or to see the car locally (which I prefer) feel free to contact me.

Body:  Car was painted Black Single Stage when I got it.  It had sat outside at the painters so needed a little love.  I have had it buffed once but could use a good cut and polish from a professional.  It is deff driver condition.  There is a typical spot on the rear window on the drivers side (typical for this car) I have posted a picture below.  Other than that there are no dents or big scratches.  It looks beautiful from 5 feet.  Car has the gravel guard bottom trim in great shape also.

Motor:  401 Nailhead with a Edelbrock 4 barrel carb.  It runs like a top.  I have installed Pertronix, a new water pump, A new fan clutch and an aftermarket fan shroud keeps these motors super cool.  It also has brand new glass pack exhaust that are tucked up under the rear quarter panels and is quiet not loud at all  I did a compression check when I got the car and it was fine.  It has no blow by so I would say its in good condition.  That being said I do not know if the motor has been rebuilt, but I have never had a problem its just needs to be cleaned and painted.

Trans:  The transmission is the ST 400 and I just had it rebuilt about 50 miles ago.  Trans was done, torque converter was rebuilt, driveshaft was rebuilt and new center support bearing and all, also brand new hard cooling hard lines installed. I paid over 2k to have it done by a friend of mine who is an awesome transmission guy.  Like I said I wanted to keep it.

Floor Pan:  Pan is in great shape no rust and is the cleanest I have ever had.

Chassis:  THe brakes are newer probably have 2000 miles on them.  Stops great.  Front suspension could deff use a freshen up, complete rebuild kits are not that expensive.  Tracks fine.  Car is super LOW springs are heated but ride fine.  I have a brand new set of front shocks to go with the car, I was going to go through the front end next.

Interior:  It needs the interior done.  I am in the process of doing it now.  No Carpet.  Headlined spears are there.  Seats are deluxe pattern and are not that bad but need a redo.  Dash is cracked.  I have every item for the interior to redo.  I just chromed all of the interior trim along the inside including the back inside window trim, I paid $500 to chrome it all.  I have extra trim because I bought extra so I would have perfect ones.  NO rear speaker tray cover, the ones from Clarks Corvairs are the BEST.  The center console is perfect NO broken tabs like all the rest.   With a new interior this would be an awesome car.

Headlights:  Headlights are complete and open and close (manually).  All the arms are there as is the motor.  I am not sure of the condition of the motor it is not hooked up, may work or may need a rebuild.  One of the clams hangs up a little so that might be why I got it unconnected.

Bumpers:  I just re-chromed the front top bumper and it looks great. I installed a super nice lower front bumper the old one was bent.   I have the plate mount and plate side covers in great shape.  Rear bumper is in decent shape could use a re-chrome.

I know I am forgetting somethings and you guys are welcome to ask.  I am not trying to hide anything.  Car is in decent shape.  These cars are going up in value as we all know so my reserve is more that fair.  I would really like to sell the car locally so the buyer can check it out.  I am willing to help with shipping all I can.  I do NOT have a car shipper you will have to handle that part.  Car is for Sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early.  Now do NOT bid on the car if you are not serious.  You did not talk to your wife, do not have all the money whatever! I really want this car to go to a great home so lets get this thing sold to a true Riviera guy!  Good luck

Avista concept shows Buick's performance potential [w/video]

Mon, Jan 11 2016

With names like Wildcat and Riviera in its past, Buick knows how to make a good-looking performance machine. It's just been awhile. But the Avista concept revealed Sunday night ahead of the Detroit Auto Show suggests Buick's sporting heritage might be more than relegated to grainy photos. The Avista is a 2+2 sports coupe running a twin-turbocharged V6 cranking out 400 horsepower through the rear wheels. Look familiar? It should, as it reprises many of the design cues from Buick's last show-stealer, the Avenir, which debuted a year ago in Detroit. "The Avista embodies the dynamic soul of Buick," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of global Buick sales, service, and marketing. "It is a modern expression of the brand's heritage of sophisticated performance, communicated with beautiful elegance." The front end features a prominent grille with Buick's newly colored tr-shield as the centerpiece. It's flanked by wings that stretch out horizontally and edgy headlights that portend the appearance of future Buicks. There's an aggressive fascia, chrome-trimmed vents, and it all rolls on 20-inch wheels. The Avista has a 110.7-inch wheelbase (which is the same as the Chevy Camaro), and the tracks measure 63 inches in front and 62.9 inches in back, which Buick says makes for a sporty stance. The B-pillarless cabin conjures the open layout of great boulevard cruisers of days gone by. It's done up in gray leather punctuated with carbon-fiber and aluminum accents. Yep, Buick does know how to do performance. In case you forgot, the Avista is a strong reminder of the past, and it offers hope for the brand's future. Watch the live unveiling in the video below. Buick Introduces Avista Concept Design elegance, performance heritage conveyed in turbocharged 2+2 coupe DETROIT – Ahead of its public debut at the North American International Auto Show, Buick today revealed the Avista concept – a 2+2 coupe that pushes the brand's contemporary design ethos and rekindles its historic performance roots. A sleek, sweeping proportion is the foundation for this vision of a contemporary grand tourer, with a 400-horsepower twin-turbocharged V-6 driving the rear wheels and a driver-focused cockpit offering a comfortable, connected center of control. "The Avista embodies the dynamic soul of Buick," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick Sales, Service and Marketing.

Buick Envision spied fully disrobed in China

Wed, 27 Aug 2014

The Buick Envision crossover is supposed to have its big reveal on August 28 and be on display at the Chengdu Motor Show, but apparently the new midsize crossover just can't wait to meet its public. Car News China caught a completely undisguised example parking outside of the convention center where the show is held.
The Buick designers are going right down the middle with the styling with nothing too flashy to turn off potential buyers. Still, it's a handsome CUV that kind of looks like a stretched Encore from some angles with vents along the hood, a large greenhouse and a prominent crease running down the side.
This new midsizer is hitting the Chinese market first and reportedly rides on GM's Delta platform that's also found underneath the Buick Verano. According to Car News China, prices there are between 160,000 yuan and 220,000 yuan ($26,000 - $35,800 at current rates). However, it's also rumored to eventually make its way across the Pacific to give Buick buyers in the US an option between the Encore compact crossover and larger Enclave.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.
