2000 Buick Regal Ls Sedan 4-door 3.8l on 2040-cars
Davidsonville, Maryland, United States
Welcome to my 2000 Buick Regal LS. This vehicle has 121k miles. The engine is very strong with lots of passing power. Does not leak or smoke. All power options – radio, locks, windows, etc. - function properly. The paint is in decent shape overall. There is a rub on the front bumper (pictured) and slight evidence of a sideswipe on the rear (pictured.) Both are surface only, not in the metal. The tires are like-new with a great deal of tread. Interior is relatively clean. Carpet is mostly free of wear and tear and staining. Mechanical issues to address: The transmission needs servicing. It shifts through all of the gears without an issue, however, sometimes when the car is first started, it is slow going into first without warming up. Because of this, the "service car" light is on - this is different from the "check engine light" which is not on. The minor exterior issues are pictured.
This vehicle is being offered for sale “AS-IS” because of year
and miles. If you are new to Ebay or if you have fewer than 4
transactions, please contact me prior to bidding for approval to bid or I will
cancel your bid immediately. There is a $125 documentation fee in addition
to the final selling price. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required via
Paypal within 48 hours of auction close. Transaction must be completed
within 7 days of auction end (full payment and pick-up arrangements at
least). I have done my best to describe the vehicle as accurately as
possible. Once purchased, this car can be driven anywhere in the country
without issue. For those of you who are not local, BWI is the
closest airport to my location. Contact me via email with any
questions. Please bid with confidence and good luck. |

Buick Adam a reality after all... but only in China
Mon, 03 Mar 2014General Motors may have parred down its brand portfolio, but it still has more under its umbrella than most. That's why, while a company like Ford might market the same vehicle under its own name in markets around the world, GM uses different brands in different markets. But no two are aligned quite as closely as Opel in Europe and Buick in the United States and China.
What we know here as the Buick Regal is sold overseas as the Opel Insignia. Our Encore is their Mokka. Verano? Astra sedan. But one thing we don't get here is the Opel Adam. The diminutive city car is GM's take on the Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, Citroën DS3 et al. Launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Opel Adam is named after the company's founder (like an ironic thumbing of the nose to the Ferrari Enzo). But while it's sold, like most Opels, in the UK as a Vauxhall, the prospect of it porting over to Buick seems slim to none. Right?
Sorta. While the Adam isn't likely to come Stateside, the latest reports (as yet unconfirmed by GM) suggest that The General is planning to sell the Adam in China where the Buick brand is also a strong seller. Local production could ensue, with prices targeting the Fiat 500 and engines - according to CarNewsChina.com - to include inline-fours displacing 1.2 and 1.4 liters with 69 and 100 horsepower, respectively.
Despite strong profits, GM still fighting flat market share
Fri, Jan 17 2014Looking at the progress General Motors has made since it entered bankruptcy, it's easy to forget that the company still has a long way to go before it's the juggernaut it once was. A recent report from Reuters points out that, while GM is making money, it isn't making any gains in terms of US market share. Quite the opposite, really. Consider this factoid: In 1963, nearly half of the cars sold in the United States were from Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick, GMC or Pontiac. Now, the company's US market share is stagnant at 17.9 percent. That same number is half of just Chevy's 1963 market share. This is all despite GM going on a binge replacing or updating its models. "Market share increases are not instantaneous," Mark Reuss told Reuters at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show. "We've got a lot of baggage. Don't underestimate what people though of us, or these brands, through these hardships and 30 years." The reasons for the stagnant market share are numerous. Reuters points out that retooling of factories and a focus on limiting incentives are both good things for profit, but not necessarily for market share. There's also the troubling turnover of the brand's marketing department. These issues don't change the fact that Chevrolet has lost 1.4 percent of its market share in two years, and that Cadillac - arguably GM's most improved brand overall - has lost 1.2 percent in the same period. Part of that can be blamed on GM's avoidance of fleet sales in favor of more profitable customer sales. "Our focus has really been on retail and that's where we've got the growth," said Alan Batey, GM's interim global marketing boss. "We want to grow GM and that means growing market share and profits, but it's not at all costs," Reuss said. NHTSA may greatly expand GM airbag recall
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is pondering whether to dramatically upscale a pair of airbag recalls on General Motors vehicles. The two existing campaigns, one launched in the fall of 2012 and the other in January of this year covered just 6,845 vehicles, but the government agency is considering whether to boost the recall to around 400,000 units.
The existing recalls involve the the closely related 2012 Buick Verano (shown) and Chevrolet Cruze sedans, along with Sonic and Camaro models. The root of the problem is a shorting bar in the inflator module of the steering-wheel-mounted airbag that may contact the primary state airbag terminal, a condition that could prevent deployment in an accident. Dealer technicians have been replacing the steering wheel airbag coils to fix the issue.
According to a post on NHTSA's website, the root cause, said to be a production issue, may not have been completely isolated - particularly for the second recall, which was for the Camaro. According to Automotive News, GM says it is cooperating with the government investigation, but won't say whether or not it knows the true origin of the problem.
