Well I really don't want to sell this car, and thought I never would but as they say life will throw you a curve in a heart beat, and it did. I have to let go of my beautiful 1987 Buick Grand National with only 33,214 miles on motor and tranny all professionally built by a master Buick mechanic !!! Body has 128,xxx I mean just the body, and it doesn't look it at all...... I'm flat out telling you , you will not find a nicer and more reliable, and faster grand national for the money anywhere !!!! This car is a beast and still has ice cold A/C and gets 26 mpg all day long !!! This is a true Grand National ,,not a clone. I cant believe some of the ads I see of people wanting 13k to 15,000 for a rusty ragged out GN just because its a true GN..... There almost all beat up and rode hard and this one is not... It runs and drives like brand new !!!! Looks great and is mechanically sound...I would trust this car right now to hop in it and drive clear across country with no problems at all !!! OK here has what's been done to the car in the last 5 years and now only has 33k miles on her:

The motor ran fine but was just a little tired so we freshened it up bit...
He pulled the motor and cleaned the whole block, put in brand new pistons, rings, rods, valves, springs, new crank, new cam, new lifters, all new gaskets ect..... everything is brand new and we used all OEM GM Parts.... like I said now the car has 33,214 miles so you know there's no bugs to worry about she runs like brand new !!!!
The transmission was gone through with all new clutch packs, new converter, all new fluid, and very mild shift kit....The cars shifts smooth and nice !!! We did all new brakes, new rear end gears3;42, new shocks, new u joints, new plugs, wires, new water pump, new timing set ect.....

The paint looks really good.... I would say 8 out of 10 !!! If you wanted to car to be considered mint cond I would paint it, but other wise she's fine LOOKS GREAT !! Still shines !!
The interior of the car looks super good !! No tears, no rips, no fading the carpet is like brand new no stains,,, nothing !!! All gauges , lights , ect....all work perfect !!
The car right now is set at 17 psi and will throw you in your seat !!
I don't really know what else to say its just a beautiful 1987 Buick that has been well, well cared for and you search and search all over and never find one for the money that runs, drives, and looks like this one !!!

I guarantee the first person that comes to see this car in person and drives it will buy it on the spot , so hurry if you want it !!! I do not want to trade for anything, and I will not hold the car while you get money together ok, so please have the money to buy it before you call me..
This car is for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction at any time.

Safety group pans GM’s new Marketplace in-dash shopping

Wed, Dec 6 2017

When it comes to our cars, is the Internet of Things a godsend? Or a hidden menace that will create more problems than it will solve? On the same day General Motors announced it will equip newer-model cars with its in-dash Marketplace e-commerce app, a prominent safety group was shooting it down. National Safety Council President Deborah Hersman tells Bloomberg the technology will only contribute to distracted driving and hurt efforts to stem the tide of rising auto fatalities, which grew 5.6 percent to more than 37,000 in the U.S. in 2016. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says distracted driving was responsible for 3,477 fatalities and 391,000 injuries in 2015, the most recent year for which it has data. "There's nothing about this that's safe," Hersman told Bloomberg. "If this is why they want WiFi in the car, we're going to see fatality numbers go up even higher than they are now." Marketplace, developed with IBM, will allow drivers — or more often, one hopes, their passengers — to order coffee or food, find gas stations and reserve hotel rooms from their dashboard screens. The technology is set to be uploaded automatically to nearly 1.9 million GM vehicles model-year 2017 and later that are equipped with WiFi hotspots and compatible systems. By the end of 2018, about 4 million Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles will be equipped with Marketplace. The app will debut with a limited number of participating retailers, including TGI Fridays, Shell, Exxon Mobil and Starbucks, with more likely to join later. Online retail giant Amazon is also partnering with automakers such as Ford to bring e-commerce capabilities inside the car through its Alexa personal assistant. While convenience is nice, one other thing is becoming clear as the IoT wedges its way into our cars: It's taking aim at some decidedly first-world problems.Related Video: Image Credit: GM Buick Cadillac Chevrolet GM GMC Technology Infotainment in-car entertainment marketplace e-commerce

Buick struggling to keep up with Encore demand

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

Buick is having a hard time keeping up with demand for its all-new Encore mini-CUV, according to a report from Automotive News. The stylish, lifted five-door went on sale in January, but dealers have reported that supplies have dwindled after the initial high demand, taking the proverbial "wind out of the sails."
General Motors admits that it underestimated demand for the diminutive Buick, which is built in Korea and sold as the Opel Mokka in Europe, where it's also seen success. Buick spokesperson Nick Richards told AN, "We increased production, so there have been a lot more landing within the last month."
Buick has done a booming business, though, even with its limited supply of Encores. With over 12,000 units sold in the first half of 2013, the small CUV is on pace to annihilate industry analysts' estimates, which predicted no more than 18,500 units in 2013. We're not entirely surprised. When we first drove the Encore late last year, Autoblog professed that we had no idea how sales would turn out, as the Encore wasn't really entering into an established segment. Even so, wefound a surprising amount to like in the Encore, enough that we "wouldn't bet against it" being a major success.

GM mulling Chevy Cruze hatchback for US, Buick 'Panamera' among other new models

Fri, 08 Nov 2013

We've spoken at length previously about the fallacy of poor hatchback sales in the US, and with the runaway success of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan, it's somewhat unsurprising to hear that General Motors is rethinking its decision not to sell an overseas five-door variant in North America as it looks to plug a number of holes in its lineup. GM North American President Mark Reuss admitted during a media luncheon this week that not offering the model "... was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake," says Forbes. With the next-generation model already well-along in development, it's likely that the current Cruze hatch (shown above) won't see US dealers.
Reuss admits not offering the model "was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake"
In what must have been a far-reaching conversation, Reuss hinted at a number of new products for many GM brands, including "a much more beautiful Panamera" range-topper for Buick (which sounds a bit like the line of reasoning the TriShield brand has been pursuing with its Riviera concepts) and a "Ford Transit Connect-fighter" to supplant the recently announced badge-engineered Chevy City Express from Nissan.
