Up for sale is a beautifully maintained 1979 Buick regal 2 door sport coupe boasting the 3.8 liter TURBOCHARGED 6 cylinder engine. This car is an all ORIGINAL, AZ RUST FREE CAR!! this piece of muscle car history has been in indoor, temperature controlled storage for 20 years.  The car has been unregistered and un-driven for those 20 years in order to keep the pristine originality of this classic. Do not let the storage time scare you away from it.  the car starts, runs, and drives with one turn of the key every time.  The gas tank was removed, meticulously cleaned, and put back in about 6 years ago. A new fuel pump, fuel lines, new battery, and a freshly cleaned carburetor are also on the list of components put on the car in order to make sure it did not "gum up" due to storage.  The tires are 20 years old! however, they hold air wonderfully and will make driving the car on to some type of transport trailer no problem at all. any use of the tires past that will be up to your judgement!

Owned and maintained by a family of professionally trained auto mechanics, this piece of history would make a great addition to any collection of classics you may be hiding away, or as an entry level car for someone looking to stick their fingers into the classic car collecting game. the car boasts the proper combination of rarity, originality, power, and class that you would be hard pressed to find in any other car due to the fact that less than 10 percent of regals released in 79 had the TURBO CHARGED(!!) engine in them. also, don't forget perhaps the strongest selling point....AZ RUST FREE!!!!

the engine is in fact the ORIGINAL engine, with an ORIGINAL 77xxx (box A!!) miles on it, and it is bolted up to the ORIGINAL automatic transmission.  I stress originality for this may be one of the few unmolested buick regal t-type pre cursors around. The car has the original interior, original paint, and shows no signs whatsoever of any accident or body work. Dont miss out on the chance to own perhaps the finest original car of its kind in the world! this car was the pre runner to the infamous buick grand national, and opened the door to many other american auto manufacturers to the world of turbo charging their engines! thank you for taking time to view this ad!

2013 Buick Encore

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.

Next-gen LaCrosse, Cascada convertible coming to Buick showrooms in 2016

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

It's difficult to overstate how significant the post-bankruptcy years have been for General Motors' Buick brand. Arguably the most improved American automaker, Buick has rounded out its range with an excellent compact in the Verano, a well-balanced midsizer in the Regal and a segment-busting mini-CUV, with the Encore.
Seeking to keep that momentum going, the next several years will see the brand address a trio of its most obvious issues. First and foremost will be a replacement for the aging LaCrosse, a vehicle whose only bit of attention since its 2009 debut was a very light refresh in 2013.
According to Automotive News, we should expect the next-generation LaCrosse to arrive late next year or early in 2016, as a 2016 model. AN expects big design changes, as Buick attempts to further the LaCrosse from its popular platform-mate, the Chevrolet Impala. The changes won't be so radical, though, as to do away with its front-drive architecture, as the latest version of the Epsilon platform will underpin the next LaCrosse. The 3.6-liter V6 is likely to carry on, although a smaller, budget-minded offering is also extremely likely (we'll eat our hat if it's not the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder from the Regal, Verano and Cadillac CTS et al.).

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Oldsmobile Eighty-Eight LSS Supercharged

Tue, Mar 21 2017

Oldsmobile got terminated by The General in 2005, in part because the marketing suits decided that the first three letters of the marque's name made the cars undesirable to the under-75 set (never mind that 21st-century rappers continue to venerate Oldsmobiles). Not long before the demise of Olds, though, you could buy an Eighty-Eight with the supercharged L67 V6, known as the Luxury Sports Sedan or LSS. These cars are very rare today, but I spotted this '97 in a Denver self-service wrecking yard. These Eaton blowers are now so easy to find in wrecking yards that most of them go unpicked by customers. The going rate for this supercharger is about 50 bucks, because everyone who wants one already has a big hoard of the things. If you have ever wanted to drop a supercharger onto your crapcan race car's engine, now is the time. Performance was respectable for the era, with output of 240 hp and 280 lb-ft. The 3800 was the descendant of the ancient Buick V6, which debuted way back in 1962, so GM had had many decades in which to make it a dependable (though not very smooth-running) powerplant. Yes, you could still buy big ol' sedans with rear drums at the dawn of the 21st century. Did the LSS steal any sales from potential BMW or Mercedes-Benz buyers? Probably not many, though its $27,695 price tag must have looked pretty tempting when compared to that of the much slower $32,960 Lexus ES 300 in 1997. Right now is the best time to make a resolution you'll enjoy sticking with. The reviewers at Popular Mechanics were unable to break the first-year LSS.
