Up for bid is my Le Sabre which I owned for sixteen years.     Believe to be the third owner.         This a unrestored vehicle not doctored up for a quick sale.          Went from original purchaser to son in law to me.       Reason I'm selling is that I ran across a Dodge A100 just like the one I owned in the 70's.   The Buick is from Missouri,it has seen no snow or salt.I don't drive it even in the rain and hate the sun to shine on it.     It is a rust free no bondo no patch panel car.          Look at the pictures of the bottoms of the doors, trunk lid and door jams. Those are all original paint.      In my opinion, only exception is the hood, the color is not a great match,it's the way I got and hasn't bothered me that much or I would have had it redone.       It has the chrome factory rally rims with tires that have low miles on them.      Original R12 AC which blows very cold.               This is a true survivor!     Only changes are the 2 inch drop spindles that evens out the car stance and the new dual exhaust which is not loud but a nice mellow tone. New front pads and calipers when new spindles were installed.    I do have the original spindles that would come with the car.   I'm not trying to say this is a new car but it sure is a head turning driver.      I would rather have you surprised how nice it is rather than be disappointed by a untrue description.        It does have a few scratches a blemish or so but  no door dings except a small one on the rear wheel stainless trim piece.    The paint still shines very well.Interior is very nice and clean,no rips tears.        Non Smoker       Headliner is starting to come down, glue must of dried up,I do have headliner pins that would hold it up but it should be replaced. Do have new cylinders that hold the hood up in the open position.  Dash has no cracks and is not parched out, glass all good.      Runs Fantastic!!!           All trunk and door seals still very supple! Vinyl top not parched or ripped, there is a crack in the molding at the base of the roof,it's a small rubber piece probably still available.   A TRUE UNMOLESTED CAR!    Last of the big rear wheel drive Buick Le Sabre.   Look at the pics of the undercarriage, rust free. Not too many of these still around in this shape.Ready to cruise, you don't have to do anything to it if you don't want to!     Hope it goes to a good home!   Does come with a car cover.     The car is sold as is!!!!     Do not bid if you  DO NOT INTEND TO FOLLOW THROUGH WITH THE PURCHASE.No International bids or shipping.Car will not be released until funds have cleared. Please if you are having this car shipped choose a reputable company,my van was delivered by a driving team that was like Cheech and Chong.I will not be responsible for their mishaps.I do reserve the right to cancel the sale at anytime.  Yes I am suspicious, seen it all. Will be happy to tell you more about the car if you like. 734 837 2966,I work midnights, you can leave a message if I miss your call.  More pictures available upon request or you are welcome to see it in person.  Thanks for looking!!!! George

Buick Encore GX fuel economy out, 1.3L more efficient than 1.2L

Fri, Jan 24 2020

EPA fuel economy ratings for the 2020 Buick Encore GX are out, the most powerful engine taking the overall trophy. The new, slighty-less-compact subcompact crossover comes with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder as its base engine, putting out 137 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. Available solely with front-wheel drive and with a continuously variable transmission, the powertrain gets 26 miles per gallon in the city, 30 on the highway and 28 combined. The optional engine is a turbocharged 1.3-cylinder with 155 hp and 174 lb-ft. Mating it to the CVT in front-wheel drive guise returns the best fuel economy in the Encore/Encore GX family, being 30 city, 32 highway, 31 combined. That's spot on GM's prediction last year for combined fuel economy. Buyers who opt for the 1.3-liter with all-wheel drive — the engine costing an additional $395, the drivetrain a $2,000 upgrade — get a nine-speed automatic transmission, that combo returning 26 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg combined. Among luxury front-wheel drive entries, the 2020 BMW X1 sDrive28i gets 27 mpg combined utilizing an eight-speed automatic, the Lexus UX 200 gets 33 mpg combined with a CVT. Among less the expensive options, the Nissan Kicks returns 33 mpg as well through a CVT, the Mazda CX-30 rated at 28 mpg combined and employing a six-speed auto. The Encore once offered two versions of its turbocharged 1.4-liter, but is now left with the lesser-powered unit producing 138 hp and 148 lb-ft, paired with a six-speed automatic. Fuel economy with front-wheel drive is 25 city, 30 highway, 27 combined; with all-wheel drive, that shrinks by one mpg across the board to 24 city, 29 highway and 26 combined. The Encore GX is scheduled to hit dealership sometime this spring. Related Video:

2013 Buick Verano Turbo

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

Not Luxury. Not Sport. Not Buick. Not Bad.
Those of you who still think of the Buick Verano as some sort of callously badge-engineered, gussied up version of the Chevrolet Cruze ("Why would anyone spend that much money on Buick's Cruze?" you may have been heard to mutter) have got the wrong idea. Entirely. Even in its most modest form, the Verano turns out to be a sedan that is feature-rich, insulated from wind and road noise in proper luxury car fashion, pretty good to drive and not bad to look at in the new school of high-nosed pedestrian-impact-regulated fashion. In a less modest form then, one that attaches the word "Turbo" to the moniker and plops a force-fed 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the Verano is downright interesting.
Of course, "interesting" is rarely a descriptor that fills one with lust - and so it goes with this example. There are two competing forces within this near-premium subcompact sedan, and the balance struck between them must resonate with any potential customer before the Verano Turbo can become a serious purchase consideration.
