1968 Buick Lesabre Convertible With Custom Wheels No Reserve on 2040-cars

Beautiful 1968 Buick Le Sabre Convertible Amazing condition for a 44 year old car
! A great deal of money has been spent on body, paint and wheels.
Looks great . I was told this car came from California. From the
lack of rust and corrosion underneath on the frame I find this
believable. Very low miles, under 89,000 from the lack of wear on the gas and brake pedals this seems believable Speedometer and odometer work Cars in this good of condition are becoming hard to find Please note in the pictures, the car has not been waxed or cleaned since in covered storage. The seats have not been cleaned with vinyl shine nor the dash or chrome. So it will look better. Carpet has not been vacuumed in pictures.
These cars may continue to increase in
vale. Go to Haggerty s classic car insurance web site for a track of valuations. Set your own grade for the car. I would place it at least a strong 3 and closer to a grade 2 if it was cleaned up and listed defects repaired.
These are real classics, fun to drive with the top down and automatic transmission. They get lots of attention at cruises and car shows Thus car has newer wheels and tires, 24 inch style that list for over $ 1,000 per wheel and tire. I am a great believer in describing a car accurately . First the good. Amazing body and paint Someone put a lot of time and effort and money into the body Great newer 24 inch tires and wheels very expensive tires and wheels looking on the internet you may be looking at easily $ 4000 to $ 6000 in tires and wheels check out the prices yourself. If you want to replace these tires with the stock 15 inch original chrome wheels and tires with the proper hub bolt pattern and offset they are available here locally for about $ 350 per set Good presentable chrome some minor pitting but no rust on the bumpers Some tarnish and flaking on the plastic ? Chrome Good glass brakes work well engine and transmission seem strong and responsive Seats are in very good shape as is dash
top non split dashes are hard to find Runs well. A top mechanic , Fox Auto, inspect all my classic cars. They did a tune up, inspection, oil change, carburetor rebuild, new battery new belts etc so it runs very well. Newer (stainless ?) dual exhaust appears to be a newer top as the back plastic window is not sun damaged or scratched Bad, small delaminating crack in front very left lower corner less than 2 inches in the corner No radio I re keyed the ignition. Ignition needs replaced securely into the dash holder I have NOT checked the top motor, as you do not want to lower a convertible top when it is cold out Drivers door lower carpet panel gone Both door carpet sill chrome panels gone At least one of the expensive tires is mounted with the tread rotation in the wrong direction (tire shows necessary direction of rotation ) Drivers side mirror loose trim piece molding at the bottom rear of the rear bottom convertible top missing Trunk is locked. I have no idea what is
in the trunk (parts, money guns drugs ??) It has a bumper hitch ? Why would someone do that ? The dash red color is faded and will need to be re dyed There are about 5 very small holes drilled on the bottom right corner of the trunk on the vertical surface The license plate rear holder does have some minor rust / stains steering wheel has small splits cracks but is functional Haggerty valuation without the tires is averaging $ 12, 526 Many in this shape are listed in the $ 18,000 range Owners manual included Email me for lots more pictures some of the pictures are from inside my airplane hanger and do not show how it shines. I will take more when it stops raining. Reason for selling. I have about 14
collector cars and am running out of room. I bought this car in the
dead of winter for a gift for my wife. It is too big for her. I parked it in my plane hanger in January 2014 I have been collecting and selling classic cars for 45 years with no complaints . If when you see the car before pick up and shipping and you decide I did NOT describe it accurately you get a full refund . You can't get better then that. It is difficult to buy cars without inspecting them for most people so feel free to have any friend in the area to inspect it. I do help with shipping cars to Europe and over seas usually through Chicago. Note car is for sale locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells BUT I have never done this without notifying the top 5 bidders to see if they want to match the offer locally. Feel free to inspect the car. I will insure and store the car at no cost for up to 60 days after the sale at no cost to you. Note. Personally I would replace the tires and wheels with the standard stock custom wheels and raised letter tires which are available here in town from Zolman tire. Sell the 24 inch wheels. Of course I am 64 years old and a traditionalist. I think the radius of turn also increases with those huge tires up front. |

2018 Buick Enclave spied looking slim in Death Valley
Thu, Sep 8 2016The nine-year-old Buick Enclave is well past its prime, but this set of spy photos reveals that GM won't put the vehicle out of its misery, but will give the vehicle a large update instead. Our photographers managed to catch Buick testing a heavily-camouflaged 2018 Enclave testing below sea level near Death Valley. Buick was testing the prototype in Nevada earlier this year, but slapped a trailer onto the back of the SUV. Thanks to the camouflage that covers the badging, headlights, taillights, and hood, there's no way to confirm if the prototype is really a Buick or something from Chevrolet. But the circular outline on the grille has us leaning towards it being a Buick. Five LED running lights shine through the heavy camouflage, while Buick's iconic waterfall grille is prominently uncovered. The Enclave, which came out in 2008, shares the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. With the new Acadia slimming down and ditching the old Lambda platform in favor of the Chi platform, the Enclave will surely follow suit. The Enclave, though, is expected to get a stretched version of the Chi platform with three rows. While the entire body is concealed, the prototype's side profile looks to be slimmer than the current Enclave. With the addition of the new, lighter platform, the Enclave is expected to get GM's new 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission added later down the road. The new Enclave is expected to make its debut early next year as a 2018 model, which will be followed by the reveal of the Traverse shortly after. GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Buick to use Velite name for its Cascada?
Mon, Dec 1 2014Ever since Opel brought out the Cascada convertible last year, rumors have been flying that Buick would offer it Stateside – much like it does with the Insignia-based Regal and the Astra-based Verano. And now we might have our best clue yet as to what Buick might call it. According to GM Authority, General Motors has filed to use the name Velite on a new model. The name first appeared on a convertible concept unveiled over a decade ago at the 2004 New York Auto Show (pictured above), but GM reportedly opened an application to trademark the nameplate for production in 2011, seeking extensions on its application every six months since. Of course the fact that it's applied for its fifth extension (of a permissible six) doesn't necessarily mean that GM will ultimately bring the cabriolet to US showrooms, or that it will use the Velite name if it does, but the fact that GM is keeping the name alive could be a good sign. The market for relaxed four-seat convertibles has been shrinking, leaving it up to drop-top muscle cars like the Chevy Camaro and Ford Mustang. But with entries like the Toyota Camry Solara, Volkswagen Eos and Chrysler 200 Convertible having dropped off the market, the Buick Velite (or Cascada, or whatever it's ultimately called) could have the sedate cabriolet segment all to itself – even if (or especially if) Lexus dealers aren't interested in touching it.
