1961 Buick LeSabre in Houston, Texas for sale.

In order to make room in my garage for another car, I need to sell my beautiful 1961 Buick LeSabre. The car is in great working order and was just recently serviced by Thunderbird Southwest-Timeless Texas Classics in LaGrange, Texas (papers available). The owner of Thunderbird Southwest, Mr. Herrington, can attest to the fine condition of this car.

The car is ALL original....down to the STILL WORKING AM radio. The exterior of the car is in almost mint condition....even the chrome shines like brand new. It is a garage kept car and I have been very zealous with it's upkeep. The original 364 V8 Wildcat engine is in great order as well. I actually just made a trip recently from Austin to Houston in the car and was cruising effortlessly on the interstate at about 85 mph.....this car is VERY fast and has a lot of power. (I can send you a video of this!)

The only major issues that the car has is that the dashboard is cracked, the AC and speedometer are no longer working, and the upholstery on the drivers side needs to be repaired. Actually, when this car first came out....AC was an "extra"....and it's more fun to drive this car with the windows down anyways.
There is also just two minor rust spots on the front of the car, but could easily be repaired. Trust me....they are so small...no one even notices them....especially if you're cruising down the interstate at 85 mph on this car.

I actually put up a video on You Tube that shows the car.....just search for 1961 Buick LeSabre and scroll down to the one uploaded by "Cantori Guy"....that is me. You are also invited to come see the car in person. PLEASE VIEW THE VIDEO (click "HD" on the corner of the video to see the video in high definition....it is almost like seeing the car in person and gives a better view of the car than any photograph will).

I will be happy to answer any questions you have. Send me a message on here and I'd be happy to call ya if ya like. Please do not ask me for any more photos....I don't have time to be emailing photos to people who aren't serious buyers. The photos I have on here are plenty, as well as the You Tube link.

Since this car is used...it is being sold as is. If you need paperwork from Thunderbird Southwest who recently serviced and did some restoration work on the car...please let me know.

GM trademarks 'Sport Touring' for Buick Regal, LaCrosse

Thu, May 7 2015

Discovering trademarking or patents from automakers always fascinates us since the filings hint at the possible future of motoring. Based on two recent applications, Buick has something possibly brewing for two of its sedans, because the company now has the trademark for Sport Touring on the Regal (pictured above in GS trim) and LaCrosse. According to GM Inside News, both trademarks are dated April 27 and are simply described to the US Patent and Trademark Office as being for "motor land vehicles, namely, automobiles." That doesn't narrow things down at all. However, since the moniker is specifically for both sedans, Sport Touring might be a new trim or special edition for them. Buick had no comment when reached by Autoblog. Of course, there are a whole host of automotive trademarks that are claimed that end up with no actual vehicle in showrooms. Unfortunately, we just have to wait to find out if this is another case like the Buick Enclave Tuscan where the filing offers a preview of the future or a situation like the still long-awaited return of the Supra.

The new Buick Regal looks like a Mazda, and we're totally cool with that

Mon, Dec 5 2016

Yes, this undisguised Opel Insignia, which will be brought here as the next Buick Regal, looks a lot like a Mazda. You can see it in the grille and headlights, especially – in fact, if you look at one of the photos with tape blocking out the badge in the middle of the winged grille, you might think this is a new Mazda6. The thing is, Mazdas look pretty darn good, so no one's complaining. And when you look at the rest of the car, there's a fair amount of originality going on. Aside from the GM-generic taillights (they look like they could fit on a Chevy, right?) the lines and details are all pretty fresh, and there are some design elements pulled from Buick's gorgeous Avista concept. A sweeping roofline leads to some healthy shoulders at the back, creating a coupe-ish profile with a very abbreviated rear deck. This appears to be a hatchback model and not the four-door sedan, but the general look should carry over. This is definitely a big improvement over the somewhat bulbous current-generation Regal, which also started life out as an Insignia. The car shown here is the Insignia OPC model, with Brembo brakes, big wheels, side skirts, and a front end with big (likely fake) intakes. It will most likely translate to a Regal GS for our market, as is the case with the current OPC and GS. The new Regal/Insignia is expected to use the same platform as the new Buick LaCrosse, which is also shared by the Chevy Malibu and Impala. They should once again be available with front- or all-wheel drive and a choice of turbocharged four-cylinder engines. Rumor has the Opel versions debuting at the Geneva show March, and the Buick would likely follow, possibly in New York in April. View 13 Photos And then there's the wagon. All signs point to Buick finally bringing the most practical Insignia to our market as a Regal. We got wind of a focus group testing the idea, Buick has trademarked the name Regal Tour X. That version would likely go up against the Audi Allroad in the classy, slightly lifted all-wheel-drive wagon category, basically acting as an almost-crossover for people who want a wagon but won't admit it to themselves. The Insignia wagon caught here is also an OPC, and we think it looks even more handsome than the hatch-sedan shown above. The trim piece stretching from the base of the A-pillar all the way up and back down to the tail is a nice touch in profile view, although we're not so sure about how it terminates abruptly at the taillight.

Question of the Day: Coolest factory-supercharged car?

Thu, Apr 28 2016

Last week, we discussed possible engine-swap recipients for the plentiful-in-every-junkyard Eaton-supercharged GM 3800 V6 engine. The Buicks, Oldsmobiles, and Pontiacs that came with that engine from the factory were reasonably cool, of course, but when you look at all the production cars that have been available with supercharging over the decades you can find some pretty amazing stuff. My personal favorite has to be the Paxton-blown Studebaker Larks of the early 1960s, partly because the Lark was just about the stodgiest-looking, sleepiest little sedan available in America, possibly the most ridiculous recipient of a howling force-fed V8 imaginable, and partly because of the name of the optional supercharged 289-cubic-inch V8 you could get in the Lark: Jet-Thrust! What do you say is the coolest factory-supercharged car of all time? Related Video: Auto News Buick Automotive History Performance Classics supercharger questions
