1987 Buick Regal Grand National Coupe 2-door 3.8l 3800cc 231 Ci. V6 Turbo Rwd on 2040-cars
Cypress, Texas, United States
1987 Buick Regal Grand National Coupe 2-Door 3.8L 3800CC 231 CI. V6 GAS OHV Turbocharged RWD I absolutely love this car. It has been meticulously cared for with love and pride, garage kept, well maintained and never smoked in. Car has also never been raced. So why am I selling it - "I want to buy a 1966 Mustang Fastback" There has been no paint or body work done on the car as far as I know. This GN is still the original black paint color which looks great. As all 27 year old cars it does have a few very minor stone chips on the front and some normal minor random scratches and blemishes but its in very good shape. It has a few dings on the hood but they are very difficult to see. I would give it a 9 out of 10 for paint and body. There is no Rust or Leaks. The body is clean and straight. The interior is in excellent condition - a definite must see! Items Requiring some TLC: Needs a trim piece around the new custom radio. The sound is amazing. The following items have been rebuilt or replaced: Motor and transmission was rebuilt in 2013. It only has 8,000 miles on the rebuild. It runs stronger than ever before. Plugs and Wires High volume fuel pump I have a buy now price with a "make an offer" option. So if you want to make a serious offer feel free to do so via eBay or email, text or call me (281-702- FIVE 9 FIVE 8). Don't make an offer if you cant afford it or your trying to get financing. I do not have time to entertain bogus offers. However, do be afraid to make an offer. The worse thing that will happen is I will say no if its too low.
*** A $2,000.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS REQUIRED WITHIN 24 HOURS AFTER PURCHASE. THE BALANCE IS DUE WITHIN 5 DAYS! DO NOT HIT THE "BUY IT NOW" UNLESS YOU PLAN TO BUY. THE DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE.***
All forms of payment must clear my bank before I will release the car. Please do not bring a cashiers check or check and want to pick the car up the same day. I TOOK DOZENS OF PICTURES AS WELL AS A VIDEO OF MY CAR TO GIVE YOU AS MUCH INFORMATION AS I COULD, SO YOU CAN MAKE AN INFORMED DECISION ON YOUR CLASSIC CAR PURCHASE. HOWEVER EXPECTATIONS AND OPINIONS VARY GREATLY IN THIS INDUSTRY AND I WELCOME YOU TO COME DRIVE MY CAR, INSPECT AND LOOK THE CAR OVER BEFORE PURCHASING. How tariffs in China could cause a meltdown in the American South
Sun, Aug 25 2019While BMW is clearly a German company, the crossovers that are exceedingly important to it are actually made in Spartanburg, South Carolina. And more than that, the Spartanburg plant (physically located in the town of Greer) is where the corporate know-how and capability for those vehicles is concentrated. These are the vehicles – specifically, the BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 – that drove record growth for the company in 2018, according to BMW. But whatÂ’s most notable about BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, given current events, is that according to the U.S. Department of Commerce it was the largest automotive exporter by value for the fifth year running in 2018. ThatÂ’s worth emphasizing: largest automotive exporter by value. Not GM. Not Ford. BMW. And where might one assume that more than a few of those X vehicles are shipped to? China. Some 360 miles southwest of Spartanburg is Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., in in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. It started building vehicles in 1997. Since then, Daimler AG has invested in excess of $5.5 billion in the facility. It manufactures the crossover now known as the GLE, formerly the ML-Class. It also makes the GLE coupe and GLS. Daimler describes the Tuscaloosa facility as “the traditional home of SUV production” for those vehicles. When it reported its global 2018 sales, Daimler noted that on a global basis SUVs account “for more than a third of all Mercedes-Benz sales.” According to the Chinese finance ministry, on December 15th the Chinese government will impose a 25% tariff on automobiles (and a 5% tariff on auto parts) from the U.S. Certainly this is going to have a direct effect on the sales of vehicles that are manufactured in the U.S. and exported to China. BMW and Mercedes are going to take it on the chin for the vehicles that they make in plants that they invested in so heavily in the U.S. Which could potentially mean that people in places like Greer, South Carolina, and Vance, Alabama, are going to find themselves in the crosshairs of the combatants. Soo too could Lincoln, which produces vehicles in places like Louisville, Kentucky (Navigator), Chicago, Illinois (Aviator) and Flat Rock, Michigan (Continental). Although the Tesla Gigafactory 3 is rapidly nearing completion in Shanghai, it is worth noting that vehicles built in Fremont, California, are being sold in China in numbers that donÂ’t make Musk unhappy.
Buick celebrates 110 years by naming most significant model of each decade
Sun, 23 Jun 2013In May of 1903, Buick began work on its first vehicle, the 1904 Model B, the first example of which was sold to a doctor in Flint, Michigan. That first sale was appropriate since later on, Buick became known as a "doctor's car." The Model B is the first of 11 cars chosen by Buick to highlight each decade of the company's 110-year history.
The 1916 D-45 Touring with a six-cylinder engine was Buick's highest seller that year, and helped push overall sales past six figures for the first time, making Buick the top-selling automotive brand. In 1931, Series 50 got an eight-cylinder engine, which helped the company survive the Great Depression. The 1936 Century was the first Buick that could hit 100 miles per hour, the 1949 Roadmaster had a supporting role in Rain Man, the 1953 Skylark had Italian wire wheels and the owner's name engraved on its steering wheel.
Then we have the iconic 1963 Riviera, the V6-powered 1975 Regal, and in 1987, the legendary GNX. With a turbocharged, intercooled V6 pumping out 276-horsepower it could hit 60 mph in just 4.6 seconds. In 1999 Buick built the first car in China, the Century, and that country remains the brand's largest market.
GM's Ultium EV platform finally shows up in Q3 sales numbers
Wed, Oct 4 2023General Motors has heralded its Ultium battery-electric platform as the future of its passenger car and truck lineup, but for the first two years of its existence, its impact on the marketplace has been virtually nonexistent. Well, that finally changed in the third quarter of 2023, and while the cars based on this architecture don't represent anywhere near the volume of GM's broader combustion portfolio, we're reaching a point where Ultium products are finally in view (and in the hands) of real-world shoppers. At this point, five U.S.-market Ultium models are in production: the GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Blazer & Silverado EV, and BrightDrop Zevo 600. If you're not familiar with that last one, that's OK; it's a commercial product that you likely won't see on the road for some time. Together, these four combined for 4,257 sales in the third quarter alone — up from 2,663 for the entire first half of the year. While that may not seem like a significant uptick when viewed from altitude, the quarter-to-quarter numbers paint a clearer picture. Let's toss out the stragglers first. The Chevy Blazer EV, and Silverado EV for example, are barely in production. GM delivered 19 Blazers and 18 Silverados in the third quarter and that's the entirety of their production runs so far. Likewise, GM's BrightDrop Zevo 600 delivery van effectively exists apart from the consumer marketplace, so its contribution of just 35 units can be set aside too. That leaves us the two you've heard of: the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq — models with high sticker prices and long reservation queues. Through the second quarter (remember, we're talking six months here), GMC sold 49 Hummer EVs. No typo. In the three months that made up the third quarter, GM moved 1,167 of them. Not only is that a dramatic improvement over the first half, but it's more Hummers than GMC sold in the entirety of 2022 (854). Lyriq's improvement was less eye-popping on paper, but after moving just 122 total units in 2022 and 2,013 of them in the first half of 2023, Cadillac managed to up that figure to 3,018 units in the third quarter alone. GM is betting its short-term EV future on the Ultium platform, so these trends need to continue if that's going to be a profitable wager.
