Manito, Illinois, United States

I have for sale here an original unmolested 1987 Buick Grand National survivor. Not restored, including original 1987 factory paint!! These are getting very, very, hard to find in this condition and with ALL of these rare power options and low miles.

Most of you already know these cars but I will explain it so everyone understands what they are viewing. I will help assist in shipping. Funds must be cleared or cash in hand preferred before car/title is released.

It has all of the options:

Air conditioning, Cruise, tilt, delay wipers, separate Right & Left mirror levers, twilight sentinel (headlight delay)-rare, interior lights/dimmer, alarm, keyless remote,  power antenna, power trunk-rare, PW, PS, power seat-rare, power locks-rare, digital dash-rare, WITH power moonroof-rare, and G-80 POSI- very rare combo! Also with concert sound, auto reverse tape player. Has hyper chip good for up to 50 HP, AND the original chip.  UNUSED spare and jack. Extra/original turbo-6 headrest covers and see pictures below for extra parts. Dust on the dash, has been cleaned. I had the pro detailer leave the interior as I did not want it cleaned, it smells like new and I had plastic covers over it when I drive.

Clean carfax, no reported damage, clean and clear title.

Always garaged and covered. Never out of my sight. Adult owned and driven. Never seen rain or snow, mud, excessive sunlight,  and grumpy people.

Professionally detailed as you can see. Smells like new inside!! No rips.  Headliner sags and can be stretched at a cost of $0 if you do it yourself, otherwise probably $50-$100. No materials needed. I did NOT use thumbtacks or staples or anything of the sort to keep it up.

Seams line up perfectly. No sagging doors, etc!

NON ETHANOL premium fuel used!! Hart to get but I go the extra 'mile' to get it. Mobil 1 oil and filter changed every spring; every few hundred miles.

Books at $26,250 average ,  $43,995  high  as of  April 28, 2014 per nada.com below

Reason for selling: I never say I don't need the money but I have other cars and I don't have time to enjoy them all so one has to go.

Please, please, please, I ask that SERIOUS buyers only to contact me.

2013 Buick Encore nets strong IIHS, NHTSA safety scores

Wed, 05 Jun 2013

After being crushed from every which way and rolled over like a labrador, the 2013 Buick Encore has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To earn the accolade, a vehicle must achieve the highest rating of "Good" in each of the institute's four main crash tests: Front Moderate Overlap, Side, Rollover and Rear. The Encore aced those four tests with "Good" ratings, but missed out on the coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation by receiving a Poor rating in the institute's new Front Small Overlap test. To be named a Top Safety Pick+, the Encore would need to score at least an "Acceptable" rating in the new test, as well as "Good" in all four original crash tests.
Despite the miss, the Encore joins the Enclave, LaCrosse, Verano and Regal as Top Safety Picks all. If you count only the Encore with all-wheel drive, then all five Buicks have also earned five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration, making Buick one of the few manufacturers to offer a full lineup with high scores from both safety rating organizations.
The front-wheel-drive Encore, despite performing equally as well as the all-wheel-drive version in NHTSA's crash tests, only earned four stars overall. As far as we can tell, the discrepancy between the two is because some safety equipment, like Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Assist, are optional features on the FWD Encore and standard on the AWD model.

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

Opel Insignia OPC getting facelift. Will the Buick Regal GS see it, too?

Tue, 07 Aug 2012

We've seen spy shots of the base Opel Insignia wearing facelifted front and rear ends, and now it appears that the more potent OPC version will be benefitting from a nip/tuck, as well.
The front bumper has been redesigned, incorporating new air intakes - toned-down versions of the model's signature fangs - as well as a new grille. Out back, there will be minimal changes to the overall fascia, most likely stuff like slightly redesigned taillamps, and inside, these spy shots show a larger navigation/infotainment screen sitting atop the center console.
This is all well and good for the Insignia, but we're wondering how these changes will impact North America's Buick Regal GS. No, it may not share the same powertrain punch as the Euro-spec OPC, but visually, the cars are nearly identical. When questioned about possible changes for the GS, a Buick spokesperson told us that the automaker "can't comment" on any changes at this point. Even so, we wouldn't be surprised if some small changes come our way in the next year or so.
