1985 Buick Grand National, I made a 87 clone out of it. It does have the 87 drive train. It is a real Grand National. The G in the vin proves that its a Grand National. It is an Arizona car with ZERO RUST! The car has new paint, windows, glass bumpers front and rear, grille with emblem, new badges (both fenders, trunk lid and hood.) I do have new carpet but its still in the box. I do have new head rests in the box as well. The engine is a 3.8L V6 with a T61 precision turbo. 45.5# injectors with Alkycontrol alcohol injection. It has a translator Pro with extender chip. Mild Ported iron heads, and ported stock throttle body with RJC Power Plate. Has billet adjustable fuel pressure regulator with gauge. I just bought and installed a PTC 3400 Stall converter that has 200 miles on it. The rear end has new fluid and cover gasket. The tires are three years old with maybe 100 miles on them. I was in the Army and didnt drive the car much; only when I came home on leave. The car does have AC but the lines are cracked and needs the line that runs on top of the radiator. When you work on the car you lean on the lines and they crack. The interior is in decent shape but need to have the uppers redone to be perfect. The driver side seat has a new seat cover on it but the passenger side does not. The car has ATR pitbull stainless exhaust with stainless headers and a Bowling Green Custom 3" downpipe. The intercooler is from a F350. I had the front bushings replaced 5 years ago. I bought all new weather stripping when I painted the car. I had the car painted in 2012. I always run synthetic oil in the engine. I have an AEM wideband with scanmaster and boost gauge. I replaced the Universal joints in 2013. The trans (TH200R4) has been rebuilt in May when the converter was installed. The car ran back to back 12.4@110 and 12.4@ 109 with both 60ft being 1.88 on P275 MT drag radials. There is a lot more left in the car. It does have the G80 rearend code for posi rear. This car would have no problem driving to Phoenix or California. I am sure I missed out some things. If interested, text or call. I work 2pm-11pm, but shoot a text or call anyway if its in the morning. If I do not answer leave a message and I will call back. I'm not interested in straight trades. Maybe trade plus cash for Pontiac Trans Ams/Muscle cars/Drag cars/ Fox Mustangs or parts/AR15. I do not need help selling the car. Odometer says 20,XXX could be 120,XXX. The engine is not original.
Some issues: The powermaster brakes is going out, I did a self diagnostic and I believe its the actuator ball going out. The brake gets a hard pedal sometimes. The driver power seat works other than going back and forth. The plastic axle that connects both sides broke. The dash is cracked and I didnt want to pay 200 for a new one. AC doesn't work from statement above. The car randomly shuts off sometimes, but I turn it off and it starts up again. Fuel pressure is fine and its not a fuel issue. Could be ignition module. Give me a call or text if interested at 520-248-6699. My name is Junior. |

Kia leads J.D. Power's Vehicle Dependability Study for 2022
Thu, Feb 10 2022For the first year ever, Kia leads J.D. Power's annual Vehicle Dependability Study with a score of 145 problems per 100 vehicles. Buick (147) and Hyundai (148) round out the top three. The highest premium brand on the list is Genesis, with a score of 148. It's common for so-called "mass market" brands to lead this particular study, according to J.D. Power, as "premium" brands "typically incorporate more technology in their vehicles, which increases the likelihood for problems to occur" and aren't necessarily built to a higher standard that less-expensive brands. The highest-rated single nameplate is the Porsche 911. It's the third time out of the past four years and the second year in a row that Porsche's quintessential sports car has taken top honors. Porsche as a brand sits in seventh place (162) just behind Lexus (159) and ahead of Dodge (166). At the very bottom of the list is Land Rover with a dismal score of 284; the SUV specialist held the same unfortunate distinction on last year's list. Ram (266), Volvo (256), Alfa Romeo (245) and Acura (244) also performed poorly. The overall industry average score sits at 192 — mass market brands average a score of 190 while premium brands sit 14 points lower at 204. While Tesla is unofficially included in some of J.D. Power's results, the agency says the sample size it has access to for this study is too small to include. As has been the case for the past several years, infotainment systems dominate the list of problems reported by owners. Popular (or unpopular, depending on your point of view) complaints include built-in voice recognition (8.3 PP100), Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity (5.4 PP100), built-in Bluetooth system (4.5 PP100), not enough power plugs/USB ports (4.2 PP100), navigation systems difficult to understand/use (3.7 PP100), touchscreen/display screen (3.6 PP100), and navigation system inaccurate/outdated map (3.6 PP100). While problems with the car's infotainment and technology packages are indeed bothersome, it's important to remember that such issues aren't usually leaving owners stranded with an immovable vehicle like a broken transmission or blown engine would. Culling infotainment complaints from the results would reduce the average problem-per-100-vehicle score by a staggering 51.9 points. The vehicles included in this study are from the 2019 model year. That means owners have had three years to get to know their cars and trucks. It's the 33rd year that J.D.
Buick will go sedan-free by killing the Regal after 2020
Wed, Dec 4 2019Pour one out for the Buick Regal. Citing a growing lack of demand, the firm announced it will deep-six its last remaining sedan and its only station wagon after the 2020 model year. Buick spokesman Stuart Fowle told Motor Authority that buyers clearly prefer crossovers and SUVs; so far, nearly 90 percent of the company's 2019 sales have come from high-riding models. In other words, the company's decision to send the Regal to the pantheon of automotive history is business, not personal. "Buick continues to be ahead of the consumer shift towards SUVs," Fowle explained. Autoblog confirmed the decision applies to the sedan, which is available in a sporty GS configuration (pictured) that we praised as "the coolest car Buick has made in years," and the TourX wagon, which attracted Buick's wealthiest buyers and sold far better than the company expected. Its retirement underlines the colossal difficulty of selling a wagon that's not a Subaru Outback in America. View 46 Photos Buick didn't loudly announce its exit from the passenger car market, but it's beating Ford to the punch. The last Cascada rolled off the assembly line earlier in 2019, and the bigger Lacrosse is one of six cars whose retirement was announced by General Motors in 2018. Neither will be replaced, and the odds of seeing another Regal are extremely low. The company's message is clear: Buyers want crossovers and SUVs, so that's what they'll get. As a bonus, axing the Regal will finally allow Buick to end its reliance on former sister company Opel, which General Motors sold to Paris-based Peugeot in 2017. It developed the Regal, and manufactures it in a factory located next to Opel headquarters in Russelsheim, Germany. The Regal will live on elsewhere in the world. Buick will continue to sell it in the Chinese market because motorists there still buy sedans, and Opel/Vauxhall will keep offering its version of the car (called the Insignia) across Europe. The model recently received minor updates inside and out to remain fresh, but it competes in a segment that's free-falling and its days are likely numbered.
Cadillac Celestiq, Lyriq, Hummer, other future GM electric cars: Here's everything we saw at ‘EV Day’
Wed, Mar 4 2020WARREN, Mich. — Today, General Motors held an “EV Day” event at its Warren, Michigan, campus to present its new “Ultium” battery technology, modular electric vehicle architecture and soon-to-come electric vehicles. Unfortunately, we were forbidden from bringing cameras into the event, so while we canÂ’t show you what we saw, we can tell you more about it. While we saw the previously teased Cadillac EV (which we now know to be called the Lyriq) and the GMC Hummer pickup teased during the Super Bowl, there were a number of other future cars at the event, which GM President Mark Reuss assured us are all real vehicles in the works. The biggest surprise came at the end of the event, though, in the Cadillac Celestiq electric sedan, which Reuss described as a future flagship that would be hand-built “very locally.” It had been hiding under a dark sheet all morning, with the front and rear illuminated Cadillac emblems shining from underneath. When the wraps came off, we saw a long, white, four-seat fastback sedan. The 23-inch wheels were pushed out to the very corners of the car, giving it what appeared to be a very long wheelbase. The model on the stage had no side mirrors or visible door handles. The grille mirrored that of the Lyriq crossover next to it, with integrated lighting in lieu of the usual mesh or slats youÂ’d see in an internal combustion car. The entire roof, all the way until it tapered to the tail of the vehicle, was tinted glass. In back, vertical tail lighting ran down the C-pillar before turning rearward across the top of the trunk. Inside, everything below the beltline of the windows — essentially all but the headrests and top portion of the steering wheel, was hidden from view. Behind the Celestiq, a large digital display showed a rendering of its interior. The dash consists of a pillar-to-pillar curved LED display serving as both instrument panel and infotainment system. Protruding forward between the front seats was another touchscreen that appeared to house some more controls, with open area, probably for storage, below it. The rear seats had the same sort of touchscreen between them. Built into the back of the front seats were a pair of rear-seat entertainment screens, much like we saw in the Lyriq. The door panels blended wood, metal and animated lighting to give character and a sense of opulence. GM interior design manager Tristan Murphy was on hand to tell us a bit more about the Celestiq.
