This is a very unique Buick, a seldom seen early Electra 225 convertible. The Electra model came into existence in the 1959 model year, replacing the Roadmaster as Buick's top offering. This 2nd year 1960 Electra is in beautiful condition, displaying slight customization touches on a very nice original car. The body has been restored in brilliant red base/clearcoat. The brightwork has been restored. The mechanicals are excellent. This car is a pleasure to drive. Enjoy our presentation and feel free to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.
Many of our photos of this stunning Buick were taken at the Dallas Love Field Frontiers of Flight Museum, located only minutes from our showroom.
This car attracts so much attention. Close inspection will confirm detailed and straight body panels throughout, with crisp original body lines and styling unlike any other car.
Subtle touches include shaved door handles with a remote door fob. The rear decklid emblem & lettering has been shaved as well as Electra 225 from the body sides. The body lines & beautiful brightwork have been retained.
The interior is in beautiful condition, restored in red & white & displaying very well.

The dash retains its unique original features, freshly revised for the 1960 model year. Newly featured is the "Mirrormatic" Speedometer, basically a vintage "Heads-Up" display, the projected image on the lens could be adjusted to suit the driver. This car also features the speed alert buzzer. You turn the dial to the desired speed. If you reach that speed, a buzzer will alert you.
The upholstery shows very well, front to back as does the carpeting. The driver's seat is power operated.
Slight changes for the 1960 model year included a re-designed grille & the new prominent Buick logo. Buick's new advertising slogan was "Buick's All-Time Best!"
1960 would be the first year of the Buick Tri-Shield, still in use.
Under the prominent hood resides Buick's powerful 401 Nailhead V8, factory rated at 325 horsepower. This powerplant runs out very smooth and really moves this Electra 225 down the road with ease. The power brakes work great too. They feature Buick's unique finned aluminum 12-inch drums, a favorite of old time hot rodders. Be sure you play our video of this Buick.
Further inspection of the engine compartment will confirm solid original sheetmetal throughout the firewall, inner fenders, and core support.
The original trim identification plate & VIN plate are intact and legible.
The four venti-ports will remind classic car buffs of the Roadmaster, rightly so considering the Electra replaced the model line. Lesser LeSabre and Invicta models displays three ports.
1960 would mark the last appearance of Buick tail fins.
The 15-inch chromed reserve wheels are fitted with Coker Wide White Radial tires. They look great paired with the factory fender skirts and Electra 225-specific brightwork.
The trunk is finished out and very clean.
The door panels are custom-upholstered & feature the Electra 225 badging. The door undersides are solid.
The undercarriage displays original flooring and framework throughout. This underbody is in exceptional condition. The front & rear suspension are in great shape. This car appears to have always been a dry climate example. The dual glasspack exhaust gives the 401 Nailhead a perfect tone at cruise or under throttle.
These are Buick's 12-inch finned aluminum drum brakes that the old time hot rodder's dream about.
The power-operated convertible top works as it should and is in great shape.
We have a white convertible top boot to stretch over the top assembly.
This is your opportunity to own a great old Buick! View our 100% positive customer feedback and bid with 100% confidence. Again, you are welcomed and encouraged to contact Dave at 214-213-7072 or Maris at 214-616-2317 with any questions.

The past few years have seen a surge of tech features in new vehicles — everything from cloud-based content to semi-autonomous driving. While some of it makes the driving experience better, not all tech is useful or well thought out. Automakers who are adept at drivetrains, ride quality and in-cabin comforts often fail at infotainment interfaces and connectivity. From testing dozens of vehicles each year and in the spirit of gratitude, here are three car tech features I'm thankful — and a trio I could live without. Thanks Connected search: This seems like a no-brainer since everyone already has it on their smartphones, but not all automakers include it in the dashboard and as part of their nav systems. The best ones, such as Toyota Entune, leverage a driver's connected device to search for a range of services and don't charge a subscription or require a separate data plan for the car. I also like how systems like Chrysler Uconnect use Yelp or other apps to find everything from coffee to gas stations and allow searching via voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: It took two of the largest tech companies to get in-dash infotainment right. While they have their disadvantages (you're forced to use Apple Maps with CarPlay, for example), the two smartphone-integration platforms make it easier and safer to use their respective native apps for phoning, messaging, music and more behind the wheel by transferring a familiar UI to the dashboard — with no subscription required. Heated seats and steering wheels: I really appreciate these simple but pleasant features come wintertime. It's easy to get spoiled by bun-warmers on frosty mornings and using a heated steering wheel to warm the cold hands. I recently tested a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe that also had heated armrest that added to a cozy luxury experience. Bonus points for brands like Buick that allow setting seat heaters to turn on when the engine is remotely started. No thanks Automaker infotainment systems: Automakers have probably poured millions into creating their own infotainment systems, with the result largely being frustration on the part of most car owners. And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming along to make them obsolete. While some automaker systems, such as Toyota Entune and FCA's Uconnect, are easy and intuitive to use, it seems that high-end systems (I'm looking at you BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND) are the most difficult.

It's not terribly surprising that midsize SUVs earned better safety ratings than small SUVs in the latest side-impact tests performed by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). Just how much better they scored, on the other hand, certainly raises an eyebrow. Ten out of 18 midsize SUVs earned the highest rating of 'good' in the stringent new test, altered for vehicles starting with the 2020 model year with a heavier barrier (4,200 pounds) that moves at a higher speed (37 miles per hour) and is fitted with a hard honeycomb frontal structure. By way of contrast, just one out of of 20 small SUVs earned a 'good' score. SUVs that receiving 'good' scores were the Ford Explorer, Infiniti QX60, Lincoln Aviator, Mazda CX-9, Nissan Pathfinder, Subaru Ascent, Toyota Highlander, Volkswagen Atlas, Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport and Volkswagen ID.4. For EV fans, it's worth noting the ID.4 was the only electric vehicle included in the test. The Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse scraped away with 'acceptable' ratings while the Honda Passport, Honda Pilot, Hyundai Palisade, Jeep Wrangler 4-door, Kia Telluride and Nissan Murano were deemed merely 'marginal' in the tough new test. Only two models — the Mazda CX-9 and Volkswagen ID.4 — earned a "Good" rating in every test category. Interestingly, the Jeep Wrangler would have scored a 'good' rating if it were equipped with side airbags for the rear seating positions. It would likely be an engineering challenge to equip its removable top and/or doors with airbags, but the lack of that safety feature allowed the head of the rear passenger dummy to hit the vertical support of the top. Otherwise, the Wrangler scored good ratings across the board. The new Ford Bronco, which makes more allowances for side-impact safety, has not yet been tested. The popular Hyundai Palisade and Kia Telluride SUVs stand out in the test with 'poor' ratings for driver pelvis injuries. The Nissan Murano, a vehicle last redesigned for the 2015 model year, was the only vehicle tested that received a 'poor' rating for its structure and safety cage. Videos of the tests of 12 of these 18 SUVs can be found on the IIHS' YouTube page. Buick continues to play coy about the next-generation LaCrosse, but the latest teaser hints at a swoopy profile for the upcoming sedan. While mostly just a silhouette, the teaser does provide a glimpse of the flowing roof and upward crease around the rear fenders – especially handsome touches. The rest of the LaCrosse remains a mystery. The only other part that we've seen is the Avenir-inspired grille, which features a more angular surround and chrome wings jutting from emblem in the center. Styling aside, the brand claims that the sedan is now more engaging behind the wheel thanks to a stronger, lighter chassis and five-link rear suspension. Powertrain rumors are rather vague but suggest the 3.6-liter V6 will be available when the model arrives at dealers in 2016. One thing we know for certain about the LaCrosse is that it debuts at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November. That only leaves a few more weeks for Buick to keep this mystery going. Related Video:
