2003 Buick Century 4dr 3.1l 58,000 One Owner Miles, You Might Buy Granny's Car ! on 2040-cars
Bridgeport, Connecticut, United States
this is a new-car dealer trade that I have the pleasure to offer. runs and drives simply great. it is every bit a great GM car with lo-miles. starts, stops, steers with total ease and comfort. go anywhere, anytime in style and safety. around town, school, church, kids, highway... anywhere, anytime... this is your new car. brakes, motor, tranny, horn, wipers, lights, dash, gauges, steering, exhaust, battery, electric, glass, windows, locks, wheels, seating are all great. quiet and comfortable, drive with a smile on your face and sleep well at night. if you want a good car with low miles for an eBay price, look no further. i do not have all the details, but this car had an accident in it's history. I am not an expert, but there are no signs of damage or repair, except the rear bumper looks like an old repaint and there may be some paint work left rear quarter. honestly, I do not care ~!~ the old man or lady obviously had some repairs done, drove for years an average 5000 miles. this Buick looks great from any angle and simply drives without a flaw. I have seen this before... the are some rusty bits if you look down low on both sides under the doors, in the rocker panels. I know this is not pleasant, but almost goes without notice and is no danger. likely been for years and no better, no worse. new battery, belts, oil, filter, fluid; good service history. there is a dent in the passenger door. please see all photos. interior like new. non smoker. all stock and factory original. no drama, no warning lights, cold a/c, no odors, sounds, knock or ticks. rides and drives like a dream. it is a most pleasant car to drive and I have total confidence. please bid and buy, you might not see another like this and I bet the price is right !$! I have bought and sold over 100 cars on eBay, and I am happy to continue. most of these cars for sale are new car dealer trades and or on consignment. as such, I am trying to avoid and keep down the number of re-lists, or not completed sales by high bidders. please do not bid or buy if you are short on cash, have many un-asked question or can't make arrangements with me regarding prompt payment and pick up. I can help with shipping, transport, motor vehicle paperwork, storage... all at little to no extra cost. happy to help, but please let me know ahead of time if you have an unusual situation ~!~ at time of pick up, you can expect car, keys, title, bill of sale, emission report, key(s), CT DMV Q-1 and booklets as available. on occasion, especially last minute or weekend schedules, the title may have to follow within the next business day or two, just to allow payments to clear. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- not a new car, not perfect, not showroom.... but overall great shape and worth buying. eBay sale price here ~!~ pay only what you want ~~. bid and buy, drive home. car is as shown and at my home; why not drive by, say hi and drive it to your house? clean title and all documents !! j. bettes 800 Clinton ave bridgeport, CT 06604 > 203.258.3356 |

Even if GM does close all 5 of those plants, it'll still have too many
Wed, Nov 28 2018DETROIT — General Motors' monumental announcement on Monday that it will close three car assembly plants and two powertrain plants in North America and slash its workforce will only partially close the gap between capacity and demand for the automaker's sedans, according to a Reuters analysis of industry production and capacity data. Sales of traditional passenger cars in North America have been declining for the past six years and are still withering. After GM ends production next year at factories in Michigan, Ohio and Ontario, it will still have four U.S. passenger-car plants — all operating at less than 50 percent of rated capacity, according to figures supplied by LMC Automotive. In comparison, Detroit-based rivals Ford and Fiat Chrysler Automobiles will have one car plant each in North America after 2019. The Detroit Three are facing rapidly dwindling demand for traditional passenger cars from U.S. consumers, many of whom have shifted to crossovers and trucks. Passenger cars accounted for 48 percent of retail light-vehicle sales in the United States in 2014, according to market researchers at J.D. Power and Associates. This year, sedans will account for less than a third of light vehicle sales. That shift in turn has left most North American car plants operating far below their rated capacities, while many SUV and truck plants are running on overtime. The collapse in passenger-car demand is a challenge for nearly all automakers in the United States, including Japan's Toyota and Honda, which have the top-selling models in the compact and midsize car segments. Toyota executives said last month they are evaluating the company's U.S. model lineup. But Toyota also plans to build compact Corolla sedans at a new $1.6 billion factory it is building in Alabama with partner Mazda. The obstacles facing GM in its plans to close more auto factories became apparent on Tuesday as U.S. President Donald Trump threatened to block payment of government electric vehicle subsidies to GM. While it is not certain that Trump unilaterally has the power to do that, he made it clear he intends to use his office to pressure the company to keep open a small car plant in Ohio that GM says will stop building vehicles in March.
Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.

Fri, Mar 5 2021In this week's Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd. It's a review-packed episode this week, but it kicks off with a discussion of Volvo's plans to electrify by 2030 and move their EV sales online. From there, they get into Greg's time with VW's game-changing new ID.4 electric crossover. Byron then talks about his time with two very different new vehicles: the 2021 Buick Envision luxury crossover and the 2021 Hyundai Sonata N Line, which may or may not be a sport sedan. Finally, they tackle a fascinatingly complex twitter question: What is the best 'economy' muscle car?
