1999 Buick Century Custom Great Condition on 2040-cars
Ormond Beach, Florida, United States
Car is in good condition. Car has stayed in the family since purchased in '99. Runs great and starts right up. Clear title. I have all the receipts from all the work done on the car. Nearly new tires. Oil changed every 3000 miles. Interior of car is in fantastic condition. Has additional sixth seat in front row between driver and passenger seat (as seen in photo). Air conditioning blows ice cold but makes noise occasionally. Still functions great. New USB/Auxilary CD player installed with premium speakers, both rear and front speakers replaced. 12 inch subwoofer with amplifier in trunk (optional). Radio has impeccable sound quality. Overall, the car is in really good condition. Most miles are highway. Same family owned car that has always been maintained with care. There is minor rust on middle side skirts of car. Small dent on trunk edge; doesn't effect trunk opening or closing at all.
Exterior 7/10. Interior 9/10. The car is a good deal and is very reliable. By far it is the most comfortable car I have ever been in and has such a smooth drive. Please message me with any questions or if you would like more pictures. Enjoy |

2013 Buick Encore nets strong IIHS, NHTSA safety scores
Wed, 05 Jun 2013After being crushed from every which way and rolled over like a labrador, the 2013 Buick Encore has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To earn the accolade, a vehicle must achieve the highest rating of "Good" in each of the institute's four main crash tests: Front Moderate Overlap, Side, Rollover and Rear. The Encore aced those four tests with "Good" ratings, but missed out on the coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation by receiving a Poor rating in the institute's new Front Small Overlap test. To be named a Top Safety Pick+, the Encore would need to score at least an "Acceptable" rating in the new test, as well as "Good" in all four original crash tests.
Despite the miss, the Encore joins the Enclave, LaCrosse, Verano and Regal as Top Safety Picks all. If you count only the Encore with all-wheel drive, then all five Buicks have also earned five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration, making Buick one of the few manufacturers to offer a full lineup with high scores from both safety rating organizations.
The front-wheel-drive Encore, despite performing equally as well as the all-wheel-drive version in NHTSA's crash tests, only earned four stars overall. As far as we can tell, the discrepancy between the two is because some safety equipment, like Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Assist, are optional features on the FWD Encore and standard on the AWD model.
2013 Buick Verano Turbo vs. 2013 Acura ILX 2.4
Tue, 12 Mar 2013Answering The $30,000 Entry-Level Luxury Question
Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and Acura would have matched a Skylark against an Integra.
Twenty years ago, a comparison between an entry-level Buick and its Acura equivalent would have matched a Skylark against an Integra. The unfair battle would have resulted in the compact American's defeat in nearly every measurable category, as the Japanese competitor was arguably at the height of its powers.
Small number of 2013 Buick Encore models recalled for loose steering wheel
Thu, 04 Apr 2013General Motors has issued a recall and a stop sale for the 2013 Buick Encore due to an issue that could result in the steering wheel falling off on certain models. In a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, GM says that 144 Encores equipped with heated steering wheels could have been incorrectly retrofitted due to a parts shortage.
Needless to say, a loose or separated steering wheel would likely cause an accident if it happened while the vehicle was in motion. The recall doesn't go into effect until April 12, but concerned Encore owners can use the official recall notice (attached below) to contact GM.
