1985 Buick Century Ltd 23k Orig Miles, garage Stored Texas Creampuff, No Reserve! on 2040-cars
Lipan, Texas, United States
1985 Buick Century Limited TIME CAPSULE! This one owner, garage kept vehicle has only 23,800 original miles! It is here on consignment by a family whose mother bought it brand new in Fort Worth, TX in June 1985. The car looks like it came out of a 1985 Buick showroom. It even has the original 1985 Buick brochure showing all the colors, the options, etc. It is the Dark Red Metallic exterior color with the matching Dark Red Metallic velour interior. It was originally a car provided to the golfers at the 1985 Colonial Invitational Tournament in Fort Worth, TX and was sold as a “demo” by Tyson Buick with 662 miles to its owner. It was driven very infrequently over the past 28 years, spending most of its time in the garage, not exposed to the outdoors in any way. The car has power windows, power door locks, tilt wheel, cruise control and power mirrors. It has the optional power seat, the optional wire wheels, the optional digital dash and the optional power antenna. The car starts and runs great. The transmission shifts smoothly. The A/C blows ice cold (we converted it to R 134). It is a non-smoker’s vehicle. The interior fabric is absolutely perfect with no rips, tears, sags or anything. The headliner is perfect. The dash and vinyl are perfect. The whitewall tires have about 60 percent tread remaining. The wire wheels are perfect and the car has the factory wire wheel “key”, still in the plastic pouch. The owner kept meticulous fuel and maintenance records in a small red notebook in the glove box. I have shown photos from a couple of the pages on the website www.briansplaceonline.com. I have every receipt from Bruner Motors in Stephenville, TX showing all the work performed in the past 28 years. I have summarized the maintenance below. Maintenance history: · 1,456 miles Oil and filter change · 3,475 miles Oil and filter change · 6,958 miles Oil and filter change · 7,196 miles New wiper blades, cooling system flushed · 9,555 miles New battery (06/90) · 10,444 miles Exhaust repair · 11,981 miles Front end alignment · 12,052 miles New battery (08/92) · 23,365 miles New battery (12/04) · 23,371 miles Fresh fuel added (06/05) · 23,473 miles New battery, brake flush, coolant flush (12/06) · 23,549 miles New battery (06/12) · 23,581 miles Fuel pump, relay, filter and strainer replaced (06/12) · 23,641 miles Reconnect vacuum hose to MAP sensor (02/13) · 23,740 miles Oil change, replace power antenna, Convert A/C to R134 (10/13) Cosmetic Issues (all shown in photos on our website): · Scratches on trunk lid, rear fenders that appear to be cat claw marks. · Small chip in paint on passenger side front fender · Small chip in paint on passenger front door · One small chip on the front fender near the headlight assembly with a small bit of corrosion on the scrape. · Small ding in passenger rear fender (no paint break) · Original dealer sticker on drivers side on trunk lid has some small cracks · Original Walt Disney bumper sticker has peeled apart · Original “Heartbeat of America” Chevrolet bumper sticker has some cracking · Paint needs to be waxed, appears to have original finish · Trunk mat has some padding on the underside that has come apart and is flaking Mechanical Issues: · Windshield washer motor is INOP · Power seat motor for driver’s seat runs, but does not change seat positions. My mechanic says it is the power seat motor “transmission” that needs to be replaced. · Motor idles a bit rough, but runs smoothly on highway. Added about 7 gallons of fresh fuel and added fuel additive. Starts right up, runs great. You will not find another 1985 Buick with these miles or in this condition anywhere, except maybe a Buick museum somewhere. It is the real deal, all mileage documented with both the owner’s records and dealer records. The title is a clear Texas title. The car has current Texas inspection. I will be selling this as a motor vehicle dealer, so I will be collecting tax, title and license fees on the sale. We will provide a temporary tag as part of the TT&L process so you can drive it until your plates arrive. If you are an out of state buyer, we will collect a small VIT (vehicle inventory tax) that is $ .1486 per $100 and the $5.00 temporary tag fee. Delivery is available right to your driveway. We can deliver it for $2.50 per loaded mile or you can contract with a carrier of your own choosing. There are many photos of the car on our website www.briansplaceonline.com. Please call (254.646.2170) or email with questions. The car is for sale locally at our dealership. This listing will be removed when it is no longer available for sale. |

Don't buy that crossover! Buy a cladded wagon instead!
Fri, Nov 10 2017If you're looking to buy a car soon, and you're like most Americans, there's a strong chance you're considering buying a crossover SUV. That's what people want nowadays. People like the tough, tall exterior that suggests adventure and preparedness, they like the high seating position, they like the all wheel drive many have and they like the practicality. Because of this, crossovers have rapidly supplanted typical cars such as sedans, wagons, and more as the most popular vehicles in the country. But they're compromised, too. They're often heavy, thirsty, and expensive compared with more conventional cars. The good news is, there's an alternative, a happy medium between the straight crossover and the traditional car. They're lifted wagons, and they're the best crossover SUVs around. And for those who may not know what we're talking about, we're talking about cars and wagons that have been given a suspension lift for more ground clearance and a higher ride height, and often have all wheel drive standard or optional. They also usually have chunky plastic body cladding to make them look tough and durable. Examples include the Subaru Crosstrek, Audi A4 Allroad, Buick Regal TourX, and Volkswagen Golf Alltrack, among others. Because of the suspension and body modifications, these vehicles fit the trendy crossover mold quite well. And in the case of long-running nameplates such as the Subaru Outback and Volvo Cross Country models, they even have some heritage as outdoorsy machines. They also provide the higher driving position that crossover buyers love. And in some cases, such as with the Golf Alltrack, we've learned they offer better ride quality than their road-oriented siblings. View 9 Photos So these tall wagons offer the key things crossover buyers want, but what makes them better than traditional crossovers is that they have the advantages of the cars they're based on. For instance, the aforementioned Golf Alltrack still drives mostly like a Golf, which is to say, it's nimble, feels peppy, and is easy to maneuver because of its relatively small size. We can't really say the same for the Tiguan, which feels generally more sluggish and uninteresting than the Alltrack. And we mention Volkswagen's compact crossover because it starts at nearly the same price as the Alltrack. Some of the difference in giddy-up can be explained by weight. Normal crossovers can be fairly portly, while these lifted wagons are notably lighter.
GM to make most cars LTE hotspots for 2015
Mon, 25 Feb 2013General Motors isn't the first automaker to deliver in-car Internet access, but a proposed plan announced today could make the technology more widespread than any of its competitors have offered. By the 2015 model year, most Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac and GMC products in the US and Canada will offer 4G LTE mobile broadband access. Initially, GM will just be pairing with AT&T to deliver this service, but additional carriers will be revealed in the future.
Current in-car Wi-Fi hot spots are limited to 3G, but GM says that 4G LTE is 10 times faster than 3G service and will allow for full Internet access, including streaming video for entertainment as well as services like real-time traffic updates and navigation driving directions. There is also no need for a paired smartphone with this new system, which should make it easier to use, and GM and AT&T will also be working together to develop new apps for customers.
Buyers can expect to start seeing 4G LTE in their cars starting next year, and GM is already planning to expand the service to other global markets as well. All of the information from GM's announcement is posted in a press release below.
2019 Buick Regal GS Review | Because Buicks are allowed to be cool, too
Mon, May 27 2019Buick continues to try to convince everyone that its cars are cool, but we still haven't seen much evidence of this working. However, the 2019 Buick Regal GS is exactly the car that can help change people's minds about Buick in 2019. It has big red Brembos sitting inside superbly stylish wheels, bright red GS emblems everywhere, aggressive bodywork and some of the best sport seats in any car today. Buick truly made the GS look the part, and if you can get past the brand's Wal-Mart greeter personality, you're going to like the way it drives, too. The Regal GS is powered by GM's 3.6-liter V6 that makes a healthy 310 horsepower and 282 pound-feet of torque in this application. That gets mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, which is the only option for the GS this time around. The previous generation Regal GS offered a six-speed manual, but we weren't missing it too badly here. With seemingly every car under the sun going the turbocharged route, it was refreshing to see GM use a big, naturally aspirated V6. Even stranger was that the Regal GS before this one was boosted, so you could say GM went the opposite direction of the industry trend. That previous GS made 270 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque from its turbocharged 2.0-liter four cylinder. So, while the V6 beats it by 40 horsepower, the old GS has it by 13 measly pound-feet of torque. Still, we dig the V6, because this car's power delivery is fantastic with a snarly but restrained exhaust note to go with. My largest quibble is taking off from a stop. The GS's throttle response is a little numb from the get-go, but put any revs to it and the car is ready to leap forward at any speed. This immediacy is increased when you put it into "GS" mode, which sharpens up the throttle, quickens shifts, stiffens the suspension, sends more power to the rear wheels and makes the steering heavier. The nine-speed is seamless and unobtrusive in traffic, but offers up surprisingly quick shifts when you're flat-out. Most of the time I end up ignoring the paddle shifters on cars with torque converter automatics, so I wasn't exactly missing them here. You can select the gears via the gear lever's slapstick function if you really want to, but it's hardly more engaging than just letting the car go at it. In GS mode it holds gears long enough and resists shifting out of the power band. During fall-attack on a backroad, it works smart and is on-par with the eight-speed in our Stinger GT long-termer.
