1977 Buick Century Custom Wagon 4-door 6.6l on 2040-cars
East Meadow, New York, United States
Hello ebayers - WE WILL DELIVER UP TO 250 MILES BY FLATBED SERVICE ( INCLUDED ) ITEM LOCATION ZIP 11554
We came across this Buick Century Station Wagon at a local shop that we go to for regular service. It was previously from a Estate Auction a while back. One of the employees from the shop Gave me the Buicks entire history and it was Quite Interesting. From what I understand, Its spent its entire life in Long Island New york. It was Purchased new from Hagstrom Buick, In Huntington, NY in May 1977. When I opened the glove box I found Many records including the window sticker. Even Inspection Certificates dating back to 1993, and its safe to say that the odometer has only turned once, and the miles that it has on it in connection with the inspection reciepts its also save to say this station wagon was lightly used.
We Purchased this Vehicle because we operate a delivery business. Delivering small packages locally in the town we reside in and we figured it would be cool to deliver to our customers in a classic car in great condition from the 70s. However, this is a NON A/C car. We were qouted with a price on how much it would be to put air conditioning in the vehicle and after some shopping around we decided that it just was not in our favor to have that done. Some ofthe products we deliver require climate control, and with the hot weather on the way this simply does not work out. The Buick has a V8 6.6L Carburated engine with a turbo 400 Transmission and a posi rear. The shop I purchased it from installed a rebuilt carburator, a New radiator , new power steering lines and 4 new tires. the car starts up everytime. and has some power behind it. Everything works on this car, even down to the original radio. It has power windows, Rear defrost am-fm radio and a power bench seat. A nice option i think it has is there is a set of rear seats in the way back of the car that comes out of the floor and holds 2 passengers facing the rear of the vehicle. I sat 8 people comfortably in this car just to try it out. Some may be interested in this classic wagon for parts or for its drivetrain or some may want it for nostalic reasons. Im sorry to see this car go but it serves no purpose to us. Im setting this listing as a auction with a reserve.. if you have any other questions please contact me directly, ill be more then happy to answer. Happy bidding VEHICLE DAMAGE - Someone once repaired the drivers side foam part of the dash, they used the wrong color vinyl paint or dye. It doenst look terrible, and it is small. - The Drivers side of the bench seat has some rips in the bottom part of the seat. The interior and exterior are in great shape for its age, and please expect some minor scratches and interior fade on panels " its a 1977 car".. any detailed questions please ask us , we want to fully disclose and answer any questions you may have. |

Buick's Velite 5 is a rebadged Chevy Volt for China
Mon, Mar 27 2017There's nary a mention of the famous Chevy Bowtie badge in Buick's press release for its new Velite 5. No shoutouts to the extended-range Volt, with which the Chinese-market Velite clearly borrows its hybrid gasoline/electric technology. But that's okay; to borrow an adage, if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. And, as you can see from the image above, the Buick Velite 5 is a duck Volt with a Tri-Shield badge. The Velite 5's 1.5-liter engine and lithium ion battery pack provide up to 466 miles of range, with the first 62 miles or so coming on battery power alone. That's more range than Chevy quotes for the Volt, so we're not sure what methodology Buick is using to calculate mileage. Still, even if it's more like the Volt's estimated range of 53 real-world miles, it would be enough for many Chinese drivers to avoid the gas station altogether. Buick showed off a Velite Concept late last year that doesn't appear to share much at all with this new Volt-based production model. But since the brand is promising more plug-ins and EVs in the coming years, we wouldn't be surprised to see further models carrying the Velite moniker, perhaps one based on the all-electric Chevy Bolt EV. Bring back the Bronco! Trademarks we hope are actually (someday) future car names
Tue, Mar 17 2015Trademark filings are the tea leaves of the auto industry. Read them carefully – and interpret them correctly – and you might be previewing an automaker's future product plans. Yes, they're routinely filed to maintain the rights to an iconic name. And sometimes they're only for toys and clothing. But not always. Sometimes, the truth is right in front of us. The trademark is required because a company actually wants to use the name on a new car. With that in mind, here's a list of intriguing trademark filings we want to see go from paperwork to production reality. Trademark: Bronco Company: Ford Previous Use: The Bronco was a long-running SUV that lived from 1966-1996. It's one of America's original SUVs and was responsible for the increased popularity of the segment. Still, it's best known as O.J. Simpson's would-be getaway car. We think: The Bronco was an icon. Everyone seems to want a Wrangler-fighter – Ford used to have a good one. Enough time has passed that the O.J. police chase isn't the immediate image conjured by the Bronco anymore. Even if we're doing a wish list in no particular order, the Bronco still finds its way to the top. For now (unfortunately), it's just federal paperwork. Rumors on this one can get especially heated. The official word from a Ford spokesman is: "Companies renew trademark filings to maintain ownership and control of the mark, even if it is not currently used. Ford values the iconic Bronco name and history." Trademarks: Aviator, AV8R Company: Ford Previous Use: The Aviator was one of the shortest-run Lincolns ever, lasting for the 2003-2005 model years. It never found the sales success of the Ford Explorer, with which it shared a platform. We Think: The Aviator name no longer fits with Lincoln's naming nomenclature. Too bad, it's better than any other name Lincoln currently uses, save for its former big brother, the Navigator. Perhaps we're barking up the wrong tree, though. Ford has made several customized, aviation themed-Mustangs in the past, including one called the Mustang AV8R in 2008, which had cues from the US Air Force's F-22 Raptor fighter jet. It sold for $500,000 at auction, and the glass roof – which is reminiscent of a fighter jet cockpit – helped Ford popularize the feature. Trademark: EcoBeast Company: Ford Previous Use: None by major carmakers.
Electric Cadillac Lyriq, Chevy Bolt EUV and more GM electric cars are on the way
Wed, Mar 4 2020GM’s murky and somewhat secretive electric car plan is falling into place, as the company dumped a massive amount of information about whatÂ’s in the pipeline at an event at its Warren, Michigan campus today. New EVs are going to be popping up across the GM brand lineup, with new entries from Chevrolet, Cadillac, GMC and Buick in progress. We also learned some big news about GMÂ’s new Ultium battery tech today, but check out this story for all of those nitty-gritty details. The electric vehicle onslaught will begin with the Cadillac Lyriq, an electric SUV thatÂ’s already been teased out. Naming it the Lyriq is the news today. No explanation for the name was provided, so weÂ’ll have to wait for April to learn more. GM didnÂ’t specifically say if the Lyriq would be launched at the NY Auto Show, but that show (assuming coronavirus doesnÂ’t cancel it) will begin on April 8 this year. Next up in the order of events is the GMC Hummer electric truck that we know will be launching on May 20. This truck will use GMÂ’s modular Ultium battery technology. However, the wait to buy a GMC Hummer will be a long one, as the truck isnÂ’t going to dive into production until fall 2021 at GMÂ’s Detroit-Hamtramck plant. GM revealed that its new modular Ultium batteries can be configured anywhere from a 50 kWh pack to a 200 kWh pack depending on the application. Range is estimated to be about 400 miles on the upper end with the largest battery pack, and GM continues to boast about a 0-60 mph acceleration time of three seconds. Charging estimates for the Ultium battery-equipped Hummer EV were also provided. GM says its truck platform will have 800-volt battery packs and be capable of 350 kW fast-charging. Time estimates werenÂ’t given, but those numbers suggest the truck will be a rapid charger. The Hummer truck on hand, which was the same that previously starred in GMC's Super Bowl spot, showed off removable roof panels that store in the frunk, as well as what appeared to be a version of GMC's Multi-Pro tailgate. It also featured sail panels on the sides, similar to those in front of the bed of the Chevy Avalanche. In addition to the Hummer, expect to see a couple Chevys launching. GM says the refreshed Bolt EV will be launched “in late 2020” with a refreshed interior and what appear to be thicker front seats.
