1975 Buick Century Free Spirit. 64k original miles. T-tops originally installed by Hurst. The car has been in my family since purchased new. My grandfather purchased it to promote our family business at the time. The car was used in parades and paced a couple bicycle races.
The car sat in the old wearhouse for yrs and then my Mom decided she would like to get it going again to drive it to play golf. Whatever. So I got it running good with tune up and replaced some gaskets. Cleaned it up and had it painted. The paint job is awesome. Straightest mid 70s car you will ever see. No Bondo. The car just had some surface rust along the door bottoms and maybe some behind the rear wheel wells but it was just serface rust.
Once I got the car back from paint I had the new tires and wheels installed. My Mom used the car for two summers and has now lost interest. We no longer have storage so it is eating up space in my garage. I was going to add some HP and enjoy it myself but I have to many other things going on and not enough time.
The car is really in great shape. There are a few interior cosmetic issues but nothing really bad. I would give the interior a 7 out of 10 and the exterior a 9 out of 10. The only reason I cant give the exterior a 10 is do to the rear tailight filler. It has fallen appart and I have yet to have it replaced.
The car drives just like a 1970 GM car should. The car can be driven anywhere.
The Bad: The dash has a crack on the corner where it meats the door panel. The driver seat has a tear on the side of the seat. The passenger door window sweep has a little rust on it. The rear taillight filler needs to be replaced.
Asking price is $8,600. Pictures speak for themselves.
Vehicle is located in Central Illinois. Please call with questions. 309-750-1000
Thanks,Dave

Pre-owned bargain alert: Buick Regal
Wed, Feb 3 2016For the past couple of years, Buick has been very aggressive in promoting short-term low-mileage leasing. The plan was to get people in the door to experience the new Buick. Once they realized Buicks are now sleek and full of Euro Chic, people might want to buy one. It's debatable if that plan worked, but one thing is for sure: There's a massive amount of low-mileage Buick Regals out there. The price of Regals is all over the map due to lease returns and dealers aggressively discounting 2015 models to get rid of them. But at the $17,500–20,000 range there are a good number of 2013 to 2015 Regals with under 15k miles for sale. The Regal might come with 2.0L Turbo or 2.4L Hybrid. The Hybrid is a bit slow; stick with the Turbo and drive with the traction control off. They all come moderately equipped with leather, heated seats, alloy wheels, and dual-zone climate control. If you have a little more cash to spend, go for the 2012/2013 Regal GS, which is based on the Opel Insignia OPC. The Regal GS comes with 270 horsepower and 295 lb-ft from a turbo engine and a HiPerStrut suspension to reduce torque steer. They all come standard with Brembo brakes, navigation, sunroof, and premium sound system, in automatic or manual. Just make sure you budget money in your savings to replace the front tires. Trust me on this. You can purchase a Camry or Accord with some equipment for under $20,000 with a bit more miles and years than the Regal. But ultimately the Regal feels more premium, drives better, and is less boring. Make the right choice and buy something unique.Related Video:
GM throttles back Chevy Malibu, Buick LaCrosse production over swollen inventories
Wed, 06 Feb 2013As inventory of the Chevrolet Malibu and Buick LaCrosse continues to pile up, General Motors will be idling its Fairfax Assembly Plant for two weeks, according to Automotive News. This move comes about a month after the plant was shut down for three weeks in late December and early January for the same reason. As of January 31, the GM had a 94-day supply of Malibu stock while the LaCrosse was a little worse with a 117-day supply.
Just last week, GM announced that it would be investing $600 million in upgrading this plant, but it's unclear what future plans the company has in store for Fairfax considering slow sales of both the plant's models. We do expect a refreshed and more luxurious LaCrosse shortly and an early design update for the Malibu to be announced at some point this year, although we have had no official word as to when either will happen.
Buick Encore GX fuel economy out, 1.3L more efficient than 1.2L
Fri, Jan 24 2020EPA fuel economy ratings for the 2020 Buick Encore GX are out, the most powerful engine taking the overall trophy. The new, slighty-less-compact subcompact crossover comes with a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder as its base engine, putting out 137 horsepower and 166 pound-feet of torque. Available solely with front-wheel drive and with a continuously variable transmission, the powertrain gets 26 miles per gallon in the city, 30 on the highway and 28 combined. The optional engine is a turbocharged 1.3-cylinder with 155 hp and 174 lb-ft. Mating it to the CVT in front-wheel drive guise returns the best fuel economy in the Encore/Encore GX family, being 30 city, 32 highway, 31 combined. That's spot on GM's prediction last year for combined fuel economy. Buyers who opt for the 1.3-liter with all-wheel drive — the engine costing an additional $395, the drivetrain a $2,000 upgrade — get a nine-speed automatic transmission, that combo returning 26 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg combined. Among luxury front-wheel drive entries, the 2020 BMW X1 sDrive28i gets 27 mpg combined utilizing an eight-speed automatic, the Lexus UX 200 gets 33 mpg combined with a CVT. Among less the expensive options, the Nissan Kicks returns 33 mpg as well through a CVT, the Mazda CX-30 rated at 28 mpg combined and employing a six-speed auto. The Encore once offered two versions of its turbocharged 1.4-liter, but is now left with the lesser-powered unit producing 138 hp and 148 lb-ft, paired with a six-speed automatic. Fuel economy with front-wheel drive is 25 city, 30 highway, 27 combined; with all-wheel drive, that shrinks by one mpg across the board to 24 city, 29 highway and 26 combined. The Encore GX is scheduled to hit dealership sometime this spring. Related Video:
