REDUCED 500 BELOW KBB VALUE FOR CONDITION. Up for sale is a 2010 BMW 128i coupe with just over 42,000 miles (~8500/year). I ordered this after Thanksgiving 2009 and hand-picked every option (41K NEW) then waited two months for the build and delivery. It's the best car I've ever had and it drives beautifully. I'm only selling to raise money for family medical bills. Aside from a few small dings on the rear bumper and a stone chip on the hood it's in excellent shape inside and out. Leather is beautiful and clean - driver seat has some wear and staining consistent with age. There are no mechanical issues and everything works as it should. That said the car is being sold AS-IS without a warranty, although extended warranties are available by searching online. New Bridgestone run-flat tires were installed 11/28/14. New Front brakes 9/7/13; New Rear brakes 7/8/14. All maintenance has been performed at the dealer and I have all documentation. 2014 BMW X5 recalled over faulty child-safety locks
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW is set to recall some 6,400 of its new-for-2014 X5 SUVs built between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014 due to concerns that the child safety locks, if set, might deactivate without warning. The problem affects only those vehicles with the automatic soft-closing option.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the lock mechanism on the rear doors "may not have been manufactured to correct tolerances," meaning the safety locks could disengage with a simple pull of the door handle. Basically, with a pair of tugs, the rear doors could be opened from the inside, regardless of child safety locks.
BMW is in the process of notifying owners of affected vehicles. Any necessary repairs will be conducted free of charge. Take a look below for the official press release from NHTSA.
2013 BMW R1200GS and HP4 duel at Circuito de Almeria
Wed, 05 Jun 2013The 2013 BMW HP4 is the track-ready version of the manufacturer's already mighty S1000RR, which puts the bike at the very tip top of the two-wheeled BMW food chain. The R1200GS, meanwhile, is intended to be a somewhat more utilitarian machine. Capable of conveying both rider and gear over vast distances and uncertain terrain, the big-boy GS is the Swiss army knife to the HP4's rapier. Or at least that's what we've always been led to believe. BMW recently rolled out some footage during a press launch that showed the R1200GS is actually no slouch when it comes time to sling around a road course.
The company threw both bikes on Spain's Circuito de Almeria for a little sparring match, and miraculously, the HP4 didn't just up and walk away from the R1200GS. From from it. Instead, the two stay tightly matched through most of the course before something surprising happens. We won't spoil the ending for you. Is it possible the rider on the HP4 still had some in reserve? Sure, but from the sound and look of things, neither bike was giving an inch. Check out all the video action below for yourself.
